Kyle_Rayner Peppermint Elf One of the pics taken on my vacation. I visted the United States Botanic Garden. I have um... 6 more. I should probably post them in my journal, but it'll be a while. I love macros! whee What did you take it with? Sony Cybershot 3.2 megapixels. Not all my pics came out that well. sweatdrop I tend to move faster than my camera takes pictures.

Kyle_Rayner Chibi Baka I'm taking photography next year! whee Good for you! Im an avid photographer myself, so feel free to ask me about anything. 3nodding I probably will once the time comes ^^; I'm not the best photographer, but I'd like to learn. Besides, the photography teacher is AWESOME, and I'd get to use a camera that's really awesome and NOT. DIGITAL. Freakin' sweet.

And dont bash on digital, its a big help, not a crutch like many people think. And dont forget about post-processing and retouching. Check it out, five seconds of Photoshop yields this: Whatcha think?

I rather like digital cameras. I don't have to wait til my vacation's over to realize half my pics didn't come out, there wasn't enough lighting, my focus was off, my finger was in the picture (yes, that HAS happened), and if you want to do a really classy shot, you can take pictures in sepia or black and white without having to buy fancy film or edit in photoshop.
But then, I'm not a professional photographer. sweatdrop

Editing in Photoshop, especially Elements, is VERY easy.

I'll be dammed if I can hold still that perfectly for the time needed to take a decent shot at night. gonk You wouldn't believe how many times I was wishing for one during that trip.

If you want to use a F-stop long enough to take a picture of the moon or something like that, you probably will need a tripod, or at least a beanbag, both of which are less than 30 bucks.

Pep, did you happen to catch what I did to your photo in PS, besides enlarging it?

Kyle_Rayner Pep, did you happen to catch what I did to your photo in PS, besides enlarging it? I did. I like the blur, but it's a bit too obvious (and kinda stretched). If it were lighter and more subtle, it'd be super. I still haven't mastered PS 7 and it's effects. sad

If the pic was in RAW form, at the usual 3456 x 2304 resolution which I shoot at, it wouldve turned out much more convincing. Sorries crying
