She was faring pretty well...though her vision was starting to fail her some. Constant light bombarmend was getting to her eyes and starting to white wash her vision. By this point she had her sword out, putting to use all the skills that Malik had taught her in her training. It was fun using the laws of cornered animals...when they were cornered they only fought harder. Though she had noted how they were being pushed back...but to what was the question. Then a certain flair in aggression from her, sword strokes growing all the more deadly to the mob. He had Malvolence out again obviously. Who needed vision when she had that working in her favor. Damn sword.
He about fell into the mass of blood and flesh he was hacking at as it seemed to rot and give way under his blade some, what the hell? And a look to Zahara to see her aparently fending off some things for him. The hell to that too? Oh never mind, he had to get out not ponder things. Back to hacking, taking breaks to decapitate a few enemies that drew too near.
Pretty soon he was carving out a rather nice gap for himself and putting the blade between his teeth a moment he braced his hands against the creature and started pushing, trying to de-wedge himself. Just had to get his feet under himself...without breaking his ankles that was. And then there. His boots foudn purchase on the rocky ground and he yanked himself from literally a rock and a hard place, skidding down the flying foes's wing back to the ground next to Zahara, resheathing his dagger. A nod to her...before he grabbed her by the arm, throwing her into a run. They needed to catch up to Malik and Piper.

As usually, spells were dispelled, soulless and undead tore at whatever they could find. Fierce blasts of intense heat scroched their way through the tunnles, heating friend and foe alike. Hot dragon armor could be dangerous you know. Since it held heat in so well. One could actually boil inside it if heated hot enough.
But, enough. The flashes of light stopped, becoming weak and sickly, but constant. The small bunch had been heared into a doomed room. The ceiling was covered in a thick class, an ampitheatre surrounded the class. It was filled with lab coats, and they all seemed to be watching patiently.

Malik saw where they were. and looked up and around. oh look, a classroom. the same kind they had in Neriak in teh Dead Lodge for necromantic experiments. Malik was actually rather amused at this point.
"Well well. Proud Dimitri, illbegotten child, living in Ton's shadow. What's teh plan now? let me guess. you want to see what happens when that liquid that comes from a conduit's void does? Yes I know it was you. and that's the only reason to capture..adn then so easily reliquish, such a child."
Come to think of it, where was Din? was he in one of these creatures? or did he stay behind?
"I still say your a coward, and your afraid. your scard of what I possess, a weapon that can slay even one so 'powerful' as you. You're just a spoiled brat, throwing a planar temper tantrum becuase mommy woudln't give you want you wanted!"

Okay the downside to dragon armor...it took heat too well and made best friends with it. Sure she was an elf, temperatures between thirty two and one hundred didn't bother he, but when they started tipping scales to wither side it got bothersome and more so the more extreme. Rephrase...she hated armor all over again. Though her mind quickly changed to thier surroundings...oh great yeah this was good...and then Malik had to go prod didn't he? Who knew what was next.
Sevilin didn't like this at all one bite. He was covered in random ick, tore up, getting drained, and now they had been pushed back to a room that wasn't too inviting at all. Idly he wiped the bood that steadily trickled from his nose with his sleeve, red eyes darting around in that paranoid alert fashion.
It was always teh calm before the storm...and things had grown relatively calm. If he weren't drow, he'd say they were in over thier heads...but he was and he welcomed the unexpected twists and turns. A little smirk at Malik's prodding before he spat some blood to the floor with somewhat a chuckle. Interesting indeed.

She realized shortly after she'd been shoved forward that Malik and Piper were a ways ahead and she began to run, Sevilin on her heels to catch up to them. A few times she had to stop to smash various enemies that decided to pop up but they soon caught up. And Zahara glanced around, swallowing uneasily. She didn't like the look of this at all. First of all, everything had died down far too fast and she knew just like everyone else did that this battle was far from over. So why stop the theatrics...? Unless the lich was gearing up for far more gruesome plans. She stood there quietly, violet eyes assessing teh situation and trying to figure out the best way to act. Something was in the works...and she'd be damned if she could figure out what it was. And now Malik was taunting the thing. Of course he was, she grimaced as Sev spat out blood but remained alert to see what was happening.

The humming continued, in an eery happy tone. "The conduit? Oh no, her experiments were a near fail. And they were in fact, used on you, but it has outlived it's usefull ness."
"Sorry. You are wrong."
He chukled, and stepped out from not the shadows, but the soft light that spread through the small....arena. "Because you know all aobut family, don't you Tier'Dal? Tell me, did mommy love you?" He chuckled again. One bony hand reached out from under swaths of robes and scarfs. A quick gesture to the side, and Piper, Zaharah, and Sevilin where swept to the walls and held against them in crucifix style. They were aligned in a triangle, and to each oit would seem as tight bands held their fprhead, stomach, ankles, and wrists to the walls.
"Scared? Oh yes. I fear your ineptitude with such a balde."

A lesson she should keep in mind...bad can always turn into worse. She was quickly reminded of that lesson when it seemed as an invivble hand had smacked her up against the wall, and she wasn't going anywhere any time soon. Piper knew the feeling all too well...something that wasn't really touching you, looking to cause you harm and succeeding in it. Instanly a certain wood elf came to mind before he was joined with thoughts of her current plight. Of course a little bit of struggling only induced her flee response as she more or less found herself trapped. "Malik!" First response from her now in a situation she wasn't too fond of.
Okay...he was pissed. He was too busy keeping his eyes everywhere but where it seemed to be important and this was the orice of his foolishness was it? Gritted teeth and a growl as he took to trying to break invisible bonds with brute strength. Oh just one hand...give him just one hand and he'd scribe this entire place in one gesture to hell and back again.
He had his own fears of bondage after all...or maybe not a fear, more of a powerful hate and loathing at it all. Then again that had been bred into him since he was little. In Drow societies, it truly was nuture verses nature. But a look to Zahara for a moment, she was no better off, then one to Piper as she started to freak it seemed. Damn surface elf.

Well this was nice. Slammed against a wall, bonds holding her into place, and not even bonds she could see. Magic would do her no good though she tried to fill her hands with her poison cloud or something like that. She ran her tongue over her teeth and glared, left in the fate of Malik. What a place to be. Shaking her head for a moment she sighed, "Well this just got interesting." She glanced over at Piper, poor girl, she wasn't happy about this. And neither was Sevilin. Well sheesh if we're counting unhappy people, she was furious herself. Wishing she could just break one hand free and slice adn dice Zahara style. That woudl make her happy inside.

Malik only glance toward Piper when she called his name, and turned his attention back to Dimitri.
"I know enough about family to know it's value. and my mother loved me. and I nearly died protecting her from a foe who's loathing nad hatred was only exceeded by my own."
Ebony was lifted up, and Malvolence was sheathed.
"I've been using a blade since I was three. I was weaned on swordplay, and I was bathed in magic. and even though my father though of me as little more than a b*****d son of a harem girl, and even if my mother despised me, I don't care. I have new family now. Piper is my family, and Kieran, and Fianna."
Ebony was held firm, and Malik's grey eyes never wavered.
"And even if you cut me down, I still win. I'll go from a thorn in your side to a martyr. So shall you and I dance?"
Malik twirled Ebony a bit, and held it read to fight with. determined, ready, and willing to do anything and everything to protect Piper, his home, and his own existance. nevermind that according to the Oracle, striking either of them down woudlhave disasterous implications to the plane itself. but even if he knew..he doubted the lich woudl give a damn.

He yawned. "You talk much too much."
He held out his other arm, palm facing out. With a sickening sound, bone ripped through what little skin was left, creating a long, sharp, and probably not real bone sword.
"Then stricke me down, if you can. Feather."

So...burning something down and blessing it wasn't originally as easy as she thought it would of been. But at this point she really wasn't thinking about that, no Piper was trying to put her mind anywhere but here right now. Why? She was in fact starting to freak out...and thus trying to distance herself some from the present to keep herself in at least a semi calm state. Didn't need her panic messing with Mailk via bonds. Thus why it was always a warning to go into battle with ones you were so deeply intertwined with.
Dimitri was right...Malik talked far too much. Like any self proclaimed great warrior with the weapon to best all, he had to give a nice monolouge now didn't he? Well screw that, if the blade could cut him down get to cutting. Though Sevilin didn't throw his confidence into a weapon that was supposedly blessed and the bane of the undead, when the undead didn't fear it. Back to trying to get free.

Malik claimed the sword was blessed by Dimitri's mother and could easily cut him down. If this was true, why were she, Piper, and Sevilin still 'chained' to the wall? And why hadn't anyone told her that she'd be destroying things before she blessed them? She'd expected fighting things at the corn field itself but not being chained wihtout having even seen said cornfield. Seemed Malik was in a big habit of understating things, att least when he was talking to her. She narrowed her violet eyes and prayed that he would shut up and get to cutting. "Malik...we're not getting any younger here! Just fight already."

"Zahara. shut your mouth. Patience is a virtue."
And yes, that was not normally what malik would have done. the monologue was more to buy time for Piper to calm herself some at least. Focus on the enemy. channel your spirit, your need, your desire through the blade, to cleanse the undead. to strike them down. Faith. faith in yourself, faith in those around you, faith in the god or goddess you serve.
Ebony's blade glowed brightly, almost as if the blade was made of white light as opposed to blackened mithril.
And then Malik just vanished. shadowstep in range, that blade humming loudly when it swung, Malik using it with the grace and practiced ease of centuries of training. and he was utterly silent. no battlecries, no yelling about his holy cleansing, nothing. silent as a grave. just the clashing of blessed mithril to bone.
Of course malik wasn't about to think that skill alone was going to win. his armor had it's own enchantments. the breastplate of the void has a cold essence that sent feedback to landed hit against it. the gauntlet's of the titan increased his strength. coldforged greave that gave him defense agasint fire, and blackened mithril pauldrons against ice. the helm of raldukan was for mental based powers and the amulet of the swords of ro against magical. poison and disease in teh bracers of the chromantic cobra.
Was he immune to such powers? no. coudl he take some very nasty hits from them and pull through? yes.
The shadowstep techinque let him move at a very quick pace, shadowing from one point to another, never very far at all, maybe a few feet at most. and that blade of his moved at a serpent's strike, anything left open was quickly attacked and the balde brought in defensively before another strike.

Shadow step, eh? He might shrugged, if he thought it was worth his time. Didn't matter. He didn't bother to move, there was no need to avoid such attacks. He was humming under his breath.
He blocked all attacks with his bone sword. "And here I thought I might be able to have a challenge." He never moved from his postion, only his hand moved.
"Oh dear, would you look at all this enhancement and protection. Oh, whatever shall I do?" He struck Malik in his armored solar plexes, knocking him back several feet.
"You really aren't very much of a dance partner."
