Jennivieve Finally posting the last batch (unless someone asks) of Hawai'i photos from two months ago. I didn't get to look at all of those but alot of those are really pretty *O* I love that shade of green on the plants in the butterfly pic, the bay looks pretty

Fortunately Honolulu doesn't have chickens all over the place. I think the tourist industry tries to keep the crack problem, under-age prostitutes and the chickens a secret. My neighbor has become infested with chickens.
I'm glad you got to tour the islands. They're beautiful. I haven't been to Niihau or Koho'olawe, but when I was little my parents used to do island hopper vacations on occasion. Molokai is very nice- peaceful and green, and not just for lepers

IT'S A NENE heart *FANGIRLS* Did you know: In the 1950's they were close to extinction with the degradation of their lowland habitat being the primary cause of their decline HOWEVER people believe it to be hunting and predators so that issue was never really addressed. So despite the costly program which ran until.... 1978 (I believe) the populations wasn't self sustaining. It is the prefect example that conservation efforts need to be... okay I'll stop now XD It's a chicken invasion! {I think I found the name of your spider!} Which was noted on Kauai by Gressitt in 1955.
