As if a cramp had sudden plunged itself into her calves, Namini felt her face grow unbearably warm as she looked back towards the cook-off area. Someone, a man by the fairly deep voice, had just announced her name..or what she thought to be her name, since she could only make out the "-mini" part of it and sapphire eyes searched hungrily for her entry station. Movely swiftly through the crowd, bumping into a few people and muffling a barely recognizable "sorry", Namini soon found herself face to face with a traditional blue ribbon. She stood speechless for a moment, looking around nervously to see if she could locate a judge and double check to see if she TRULY won, but her eyes could only linger on the disappearing afro man... who she had no mind to approach. ..The afro was quite awkward for her.
Returning her eyes to the award, Namini brushed her fingers against the simple fabric and broke out into a bashful smile. Though appearing calm, her mind was screaming and soon enough, without realizing it, tears rolled down her cheeks as she caught herself laughing.
"Gosh..I'm crying! David would definetely tease me if he saw me," she chuckled, hiccupping afterwards.
"Nam~You didn't pay attention to the time like I told ya~"
Whipping around at the nickname Namini soon found her older brother towering over her, a popsicle stick poking out from his mouth. Smirking, he sneered at her before running a hand playfully through her auburn locks.
"Lookityou. Ya'won-- Oy, are you crying? ..Big baby," he hissed, eyes peering dangerously at the ribbon in her hands. Namini immediately pouted defensively before rubbing her eyes fiercely. David merely laughed at her as he started to walk off.
"C'mon. All my Gaians is coming on soon and if you want me to treat you, you'd better hurry up."
The younger sibling nodded before giving a farewell wave to the festival and then caught up with her brother, nipping at his heels.

Natsuki's heart sank when Dr. Kyou and Aphismet announced the results of the cook-off. Despite her best efforts, her entry was not selected. It was a gamble entering the cook-off as well as working in the event, so the cafe owner chalked it up to clocking too much time in the bathroom and not nearly enough in the kitchen. Unfortunately, her appetite had completely disappeared. Contrary to popular belief, she wasn't a mechanical barbie doll permanently set on 'happy'. Losing stung, and her wide smile shrunk to a small one.
"I'm sorry, Jun. It seems I am still human," Natsuki said apologetically, carefully wiping a single tear from her eye. Taking a deep breath, a sigh lightly rasped her lips, and she covered her mouth in embarrassment. Thankfully, Tariel and her friend hadn't taken notice of her, so she could slip away quietly. "I don't take defeat too well, and I've lost my appetite. I've had a great time though, and I look forward to your coming to visit my shop with your girlfriend." She held out her hand to shake his politely, before turning slowly and making her way across the crowd. She swung by a locker, picked up her things, and went home.

"Hey! You're messing up my hair!" Isi complained playfully, attempting to straighten his grey brown locks. After hearing Aph's plan, Isi realized that it didn't sound like too bad of an idea.
"I think I'll just go home with you, Aph," said Isi to his brother when the older man stopped by his booth. He had been waiting for a while and no one else had come up to donate or buy merchandise. The excitement must've died down and besides, he was out of balloons by now and all the other unsold merchandise would be picked up later by the Lab staff. Isi heard someone muttering something about selling the unsold merchandise on "ebay" or keeping it in the lab for whatever exotic reason they could find. The cash box he had nearby, full of the money he had made and the donations he had received, was now gone. One of the Lab staff members Isi wasn't familiar with had come to pick it up since it was nearing the end of the festival.
Leaning down underneath the table to check the locks on the wares underneath the table, Isi lamented tiredly, "I know all I did was sit down here, but dealing with the customers sure wore me out." As he leaned down on his stool, he picked up his crutches and helped himself up onto his feet. He checked that he had everything he had brought... Ice chest...Aphi had that in his hands right now. Jacket? Tied around his waist... Booth was taken care of... But there was something missing...It was as he steadied his crutches underneath his arms, that Isi picked up his head and glanced around for his missing ward.
"Eiry?" Isi called worriedly. He hadn't been back since he sent him to go drop of the mochi at the cook off booth. His worry didn't last long though for the minty raevan's form slowly wisped out of the crowd.
"Here," the young frei piped in reply. Eiry had been idly following Aphi from the booth after he heard the mention of "home". He was tired too and his healing wing ached dully. Eiry wanted to go home and lay down on the ground and listen to the quiet noises of the home.
"We didn't win," Eiry announced as he came closer and floated beside his sibling, Rivener. He sounded a bit disappointed, but he looked more satisfied than anything else. A slight mischievous grin played at the edges of his mouth and he reached back with an arm to rub at his hair. Then, glancing up at Rivener, Eiry grinned brightly, "Hey, Riv."
Isi shrugged his shoulders in a gesture of humble defeat. He was sure that whoever won did a wonderful job! He could hardly hear the name, so Isi just assumed that it was someone he didn't know. Had Isi heard that it was Namini, then he would've whooped and hollered until she heard his congratulations. He would've been glad for her. "That's alright," Isi said, nodding his head sagely, "The excitement was in preparing the entry. Alright, Aphi, I'm ready to go." Hobbling out from behind the booth, Isi began leading the way home. Turning excitedly to Aphi, Isi bubbled, "Guess how much money I earned for the Lab!"

Junsu nodded without saying anything, politely taking the proffered hand. "Yeah, I'll be sure to drop by." he said quietly.
"Junsu!" Jae's voice stood out. Turning around, he was greeted by a green.......creature splashing him and then, licking him across the face. He watched in awe as it swam through the air and back into a large bowl.
"Did you enter the cook-off?" he asked, wiping his face.
"Yeah, didn't win, but I hope the judges enjoyed at least! Oh, this is Mana by the way, new pet I won!" she grinned. "Enjoy your date?"
Junsu nodded before wrapping an arm around her shoulder and steering them towards home. "You'll have to bring me to more of these things more often."

Aphi waited for his brother to check his booth, before they both left together. "Nice job on the dessert, by the way. It was a nice surprise. Although, the name was a little weird. You shouldn't have left the entry form in Eiry's care," he finished with a chuckle. "And no, I don't know how much money you made. Is it a lot?" he asked, peering at the younger boy.
Riv looked over at Eiry who was floating next to him. That look in Eiry's eye always made him a little antsy. "Hellooooo, Eiry," he said, apprehensive. "What are you up to?" He herded his brother forward, so that they wouldn't fall behind of their guardians too much.

"Thanks, we tried the best we could. I'm not familiar with ice cream pastries, so it was something new. Eiry kept hiding the ice cream while I was trying to use it though...Wait, what? The name?" Isi looked lost for a moment, his head perched on his shoulders as they moved up and down with his movements. Then a glaze of realization dawned on his face and he frowned darkly, his freckles becoming absorbed into the flush of his frustration, "That mischievous ward of mine! He changed it to 'Sudden Death' didn't he? I told him we couldn't use that name!" Isi growled once, shaking his head as if to shake away the devils of anger. Oh well, what could he do? He was a fourteen year old boy who kept on mistaking his ward to be his age. Isi reminded himself to remember Eiry's age was like that of a toddler, something that he couldn't be angry about. "Oh, well...He's just a child right now...There's nothing I can do now anyways. It was the taste that mattered, not the name..." Feeling Aphismet's gaze lay upon him, waiting for an answer for a question long since asked, Isi quickly switched topics and moods. That's right! Perhaps he can still make Aphi proud! He didn't win the cooking contest, but there was the donation money!
Preparing himself, he gave a big victorious grin to Aphi. As he inhaled he puffed his chest and made sly eyes, as if he had discovered the drink to eternal life, "Today, the merchandise booth earned more than...Ten thousand dollars! Some kind soul donated it all and then we made a big profit off the wares and balloons too!"
The minty frei shrugged his shoulders lightly and crossed his arms casually behind his head, "Nothing," he replied sweetly. He always felt a little victorious when he was able to make Riv nervous. It meant, to him, that his pranks were working! Then, tilting his head slightly to the side, Eiry grinned and nodded towards their guardians. ...Upon their backs were paper signs with crude childlike sketches of their likeliness.

Josh’s ear perked as the loud speakers crackled to life with the announcement of the contest winner.
“And the winner is… NAMINI!!!!”
The competitive boy’s nose scrunched up in mild disgust at his loss and he growled in defeat. Well, even if he didn’t win this one he still had another prize who was meandering around here somewhere. Josh would have began a search for the sly Julian Sweet if it wasn’t for the fact that he noticed a good amount of festival goers filing out to go to there homes. He whipped out his cell phone unceremoniously and took a look at the digital display. Josh grumbled as the display blared 6:47 almost menacingly at him. It was getting pretty late and the boy had to admit it was about time that he was leaving as well.
He gave one last cursory glance around trough the rolling crowds for any glimpse of the aloof redhead and his search went unfruitful. With that done, Josh began his slow pace out of the festival and to his home in Durem. He had paid two hundred dollars for a unfulfilled date and that thought wasn’t boding well for the parsimonious boy. Josh would be sure to get his date with Mr. Julian Sweet eventually…

"Goodbye! Hope you had fun! See you! Later! Adios! Ta ta! See ya on the flip side! Have a good night!" Were only a few of the farewell words Tyson called from his and Lil's adoption booth. They were so close to the exit that the child had decided to nominate himself as the designated Good-byer of the crowds.
"Tyson, we'll be leaving soon too. Grab your things and make sure that they are in a spot where you won't loose them." Lillian called from behind the booth to the little tyke up at the front of it. "We just need to stay for a bit to help clean up, but I want you to have everything set for when we do go." She told him as she came back from the back of the stall, her shoulder-bag that held her books placed rightfully on her shoulder.
"Alright!" With that Tyson hopped off the chair he was using to stand on and kneeled under the booths table, one arm outstreched under it so he could grab whatever items of value he had placed under it. When he surfaced, Lil was already working on rolling up the mini-wired fence that had been used to keep the animals in the pen.
The young boy stood up as soon as he had a good grasp on the plastic bag that was his carrier for his valuables. All that the grocery bag had inside it was a sketchbook, a Justice League coloring book, crayons, pens, and pencils; but those items had been able to keep him occupied so of course they would be needed for other times like this. Since he had only left the stall once the entire day, which was when he got yelled at by Rivener, had a few minutes of playtime with Alex, spoke to Aphismet who also gave him along with Lillian a ham and cheese sandwich, (which were very tasty by the way) and a quick stop to a few booths on his way back. So for the rest of their time at the festival the little guy was busying himself with the projects he had brought.
As he came around the sign to help his older sister with picking up their booth, Lillian looked down at him from where she stood taking down the sign. "Did you have fun today, Tyson?" she asked as Tyson got to work on gathering up the streamers that either laid astrewn on the ground by now or had actually managed to hang on the booths counter up till now.
"Yeah," He replied with a giggle added to his answer, "I had a lot of fun. We need to do this more often! The house is getting really stuffy you know, and I like these festivals." Tyson finished, smiling at his sister as he tore off the last remaining streamer that hung on the counter.
Lillian smiled at his answer, even though she had suspected one like it anyways. "Good, I'm glad to hear that!" The sign and the rule papers came down next rather quickly thanks to how much the older Maevin wanted to get home, "Don't worry, Ty. We will get out of the house even more, you'll see. Now come help me bring these things over there." She added while hoping that her beginning words would be fulfilled sometime soon.
Once finished with their booth, the two siblings gathered up their items and began to move themselves through the dispersing crowds of people who were heading home. Both busied themselves after getting their booth cleaned up by cleaning up other booths that needed to be done. Once they could go they did, the two chatting enthusiasticly about the festival and the people they had met and seen most of their walk home.

Rivener rolled his eyes. Eiry took pride in such strange things. If at least the papers had said "kick me" or something, it would have been funnier. On reflex, Riv reached to his own back to make sure he didn't have one as well.
Aphismet blinked. "Wow, that's a lot! Someone is rich!" He grinned and pat Isi's head lightly. "Dr Kyou is going to be so happy! Way to go, Isi." He also laughed. "And about your sudden death thing, it WAS quite delicious, so don't let the name bring you down. You're going to have to make many, many more of those when we get home." He winked.
The little family walked out of the park and began to make its way home.

The sound of the announcement going off distracted Niksia, she listened to the name Cook Off winner and shrugged her shoulders slightly. Not herself, obviously, she hadn't really known about it before she'd arrived so didn't feel so bad about losing.
Maybe I should invest in a cookbook or something... She shivered comically at her own thought, which would involve a great deal more care and detail than that used for carving a bit of fruit.
Niksia retrieved her nearly forgotten black gloves, now reasonably dry and smirked to herself as she patted them against each other. Rivener, though she couldn't recall managing to pick up his name the whole time they spoke, had been found by his family and was drifting away as the Festival wound down. She watched them leave with a hard to name expression on her face, briefly ignoring the dark red hair taking on a life of its own.
With maybe the faintest of sighs and another shrug of her shoulders, Niksia wandered through the closing stalls. She patted her gloves together gently as her mind traveled away on its own path.
Another Raevan met, bit more understanding about the Lab that creates them... Technology has some benefits.
'Time for home.'
