Miki came out still in the apron she wore and pricked the cake with a toothpick and was happy with the results. She decided to take a knife and cut out one piece and placed it on a saucer and went to her brother. “Oniichan, can you try this for me? Please?” she pleaded. It was not only to test her skills were still adequate but also to see if her brother will like her culinary skills.
If he did like it then she could finally make dishes for him like their mother use to do. It felt refreshing and relaxing to her. Like in a way, she being just like her mother.
The pale-skinned blader cracked one eye open to see Miki standing in front of him, holding a saucer with a slice of cake on it. He sat up properly now, then reached for the small plate. "No need to make like a puppy and beg, Miki," he said, half-teasing. It was true, though; the look on his sister's face mirrored that of a pup wanting to be played with or cuddled or something of the sort. The crimson gaze wandered over the 'snack' before him, noting the tasteful way the cake was decorated, before picking up the small fork he saw at one side of the saucer. He took a small bite, chewing thoughtfully before he swallowed, then looked back up at Miki.
"It's good..." he commented, putting emphasis on the last word. He didn't have much by way of a sweet tooth, so saying a dessert was 'good' was something of a big deal.

Miki’s bright crimson eyes got brighter and immediately hugged her brother, but of course the cake was on the coffee table before she glomped him “Arigatou Oniichan!” Miki cried and then gave her brother a long kiss on his cheek and went to cut half of the cake and placed it on a tray with a cover and went out to Diana and Houka’s room.
Diana started to wake up when she heard a faint knocking on the door. She groggily went to answer and prepared to yell but was stopped when it was Miki who was holding a small tray. “Miki…is there something I could for you?”
Miki smiled gently and said “No nothing’s wrong Diana, here is something I made for you and Houka-san”. She handed her the tray and Diana took it and gave a small smile of thanks. Smiling at her back, she looked inside and got surprised when Houka wasn’t there “Is Houka-san around?”
“Probably asleep, I still sense her energy here so yeah…maybe at the bedroom. And thanks by the way, I’ll tell Kurozuki about this.”
Miki gave a smile and bid goodbye. As Diana closed the door, she went to put the tray on the table and took a peek of the content and saw a half circle of a cake. Smiling, she sighed good-naturedly “Typical Miki” she muttered to herself and went to cut herself a piece. She took out a carton of milk and poured herself a glass and started to eat her slice.
Back in his and Miki's apartment, Kai still sat on the couch, a bit stunned at Miki's reaction. Absently he rubbed his neck where the blue-haired girl had, in her enthusiasm and delight, practically squeezed it. "...what was that about?" he muttered, picking up the fork and taking another bite of the cake. There was a distinct taste to it - dark chocolate - that he found somewhat addictive.
Of course, that didn't mean he'd suddenly start liking sweets.
-----------------------------
Kei hitched her backpack up once more - it had started slipping down again - and glanced around. Why she decided to go to Shinjuku, she had no idea, but while she was there, may as well look around, get ideas for a new outfit or something.
She nearly passed it in a shop window, had the shiny black material not caught her eye. Kei stopped, then backtracked. Once she spotted that which had attracted her averted gaze earlier, a small grin crossed her lips, and she hurried inside the store. 'It' was a cropped leather jacket with a semi-stiff collar, the sleeves of which came only to her mid-forearm and had little belts around them. There was a belt around the bodice of the jacket as well. The brunette had been looking for such a jacket since her birthday that past year, and now she'd found one.
Needless to say, she purchased it. She planned to wear it to the tournament - it seemed to fit in with the clothing scheme of her newfound teammates. And she had just the outfit to wear it with. Once she stepped outside the shop, she retraced her steps. She was done for the day and was going home.

Miki walked back inside cheerfully and seen her brother taking another bite of the slice she prepared for him and smiled. She felt happy that her brother liked what she made for him. She took of the apron she wore and set it on the table and proceeded to wash the utensils she used.
After setting away the food and packs she used, she went to take a seat next to her older twin and watched him as he continued to eat in silence.
Kai set his fork back down on the saucer and leaned back against the couch once more. Small, dark crumbs dotted the ceramic; that was the last bite for him. He knew his twin was seated next to him, and he turned slightly to face her. "Reminds me of Okaasan's baking...at least, what I remember of it..." he said, quietly.
Miki was a good cook, true, and what Kai had just said wasn't meant to put her down. In his opinion, their late mother had been one of the best he knew when it came to the kitchen, so for him, telling his slightly younger twin that her cake had just reminded him of the woman was anything but a put-down.
-----------------------------
In the next apartment over, Houka blinked her eyes open, grimacing slightly when she realized she'd fallen asleep in a pretty uncomfortable position that left her neck a bit stiff and one arm all but numb (was that even possible?); every time she tried to move it, small electric shocks seemed to shoot up into her shoulder socket and up her neck - not a pleasant sensation.
The auburn-haired girl stood in the bedroom for a few minutes, forcing herself to move the 'sleeping' arm so she could use it fully again. At length, the tingling numbness and electric shocks subsided, and the gray-clad teen went out. The first thing she noticed was that the couch was empty; Diana had woken up. she also heard sounds coming from the kitchen, meaning the brunette was most likely to be found in there.
She was right, of course. What Houka hadn't counted on was the sudden appearance of what looked to be a little less than half a chocolate cake sitting on the table. Forgetting her manners for a bit, she asked, "Hey, Murphy, where'd that come from?"

Diana swallowed the last bite of her slice and gulped down the glass of milk she prepared for herself. Facing Houka, she smirked for a moment and replying “From Miki, she made a Dark Chocolate Cream Cheesecake.”
The sea green-eyed blader cocked her head to the side - curious bird? Yes. - for a bit before going over to join Diana at the table. Of course, she snagged a small plate and a fork before sitting down. "Dark chocolate cream cheesecake, huh?" she said, reaching for the knife and cutting herself a slice. "Guess I'll taste it, too..." Carefully, she transferred the slice to her plate, picked up her fork, and took a bite.
She swallowed. "Um. This is good. Or maybe its because I'm a sucker for anything that has dark chocolate in it..."
-----------------------------
Miki had a wistful smile on her face and stared into space before answering a soft “She was a wonderful cook”.
FLASHBACK A woman with long blue hair was in a kitchen washing some utensils when a cry of a little girl came into the room “Okaasan” The young blue haired girl no older than 6 stood beside her mother. She had the same blue hair although her’s was long but shorter compared to the woman’s length.
Smiling at the little girl, bending down to her height and kissing her cheek, she spoke “Hello Miki, how was your day?” She looked around and asked “Where is Oniichan?”. Miki replied “He is coming Okaasan”. The young girl then tiptoed to see a cake tray on the table and asked her mother “Okaasan, did you make another cake? Can I try it?”
The woman smiled and took out the cover to reveal a beautiful chocolate covered, round cake. It had white swirls on top, circling the top. She cut a slice for her daughter and bent down to feed her, rewarded with an “Oiishi!” from the young 6-year-old. Then a soft set of steps appeared and a boy, also no older than 6 came into the room. Unlike Miki, he had two-toned hair and was slightly taller than her. Miki ran to her brother and yanked his arm “Kai-oniichan, Mite mite! Okaasan made a cake, you got to try it!”
Kai looked at his younger twin sister then to his mother, who flashed him a smile telling him to do as his sister wants, and back at his sister whose bright crimson eyes looked at him with a puppy eyed look. Seeing no escape, he sighed and went to his mother, who gave him the fork and help himself to the slice of cake she held. Taking a bite, he too had the same reaction and muttered an almost-silent “Oishii.” The woman smiled at her son and rose “Now, do you want to help me prepare dinner before your father gets home?” Miki gave a happy “Hai” while Kai just gave a nod and was escorted by their mother to various places on the table and helped her throughout the afternoon. END FLASHBACK
Miki looked at the pair of hands she rested on her lap and smiled “I remember…that Dark Chocolate Cream Cheesecake was one of Okaasan’s favorite cakes and also one of her favorite to bake. She had us taste it when we were little. She taught me a lot of dishes she loved to cook. I don’t think I can ever forget the way she makes it.”
Where Miki looked down, Kai was looking up at the ceiling, his arms once more crossed behind his head. "That would probably explain why it tastes like hers; you're probably trying to follow exactly her method of making it." The slate-haired teen shrugged. "Nothing wrong with that, really...but it doesn't hurt to experiment, either..." Of course, Kai wouldn't really know; he'd never tried - really tried - to cook an actual meal, nor had he tried baking.
-----------------------------
"Tadaima," Kei called, turning slightly to close the door behind her.
No answer.
Okay, so they're not home yet... she thought, squatting for a few moments to put her shoes in the shoe rack near the door and to retrieve her slippers. But just to be sure... the brunette checked the kitchen, then her father's downstairs study, and lastly, the rooms upstairs save hers for she'd locked it before leaving.
No one.
"Well, that's strange..." Kei wondered aloud, finally coming to her room, unlocking it, and dropping her bag on the small stool by the door. She flopped onto the bed with a sigh. "It doesn't usually take them that long to get back here...maybe the got delayed..." She couldn't help feeling worried, however, and shut her eyes.
Perhaps a short nap would help while away the time, and ease her worries for her parents.

Miki shrugged as well and leaned back. She might be trying to be a mother for once. Sometimes it doesn’t hurt to cook for her brother, since he doesn’t seem to be the type to actually want to cook something that takes too long to prepare. Not noticing the silent drooping of her eyes, she fell into a silent slumber, tired of everything that had just occurred.
A few more minutes passed in contented silence, then Kai looked over at Miki...to find that she'd fallen asleep. He shook his head, and stood up. "This is just like you, Mit-chan..." he muttered goodnaturedly, bending over and easing the blue-haired girl into a lying position on the couch. He knew from the night before that she wasn't a really mobile sleeper, so he wasn't too worried about her falling off at some point.
-----------------------------
Diana smirked “Well, Dark chocolate doesn’t have that much sugar like normal chocolate does. And she added cream cheese. No wonder it tastes good. Oh well, anything Miki makes is good anyway.”
Houka glanced up from her slice of cake, one eyebrow raised questioningly. "Murphy, I know what makes dark chocolate different from normal chocolate." The auburn-haired girl could be a bit touchy when someone treated her as though she were a schoolchild of sorts, and that included giving explanations or reasons for something that she already knew.
"But...yeah, this is good..." she added, putting another bite's worth of cake in her mouth. "Almost makes me want to start baking again...operative word there being 'almost'."

Watching over his little brother like a eagle or hawk, Axel and his goons walked over all tuff yelling "you like recking blades, you like breaking dreams?" in a calm hiss like wisper Sho mombled "so are you going to beyblade or let a blind man show you up?" extreme agitated Axel silently signaled his friends to lauch with him, going "three-two-one let it rip!". Simultaneously, moving in the triad emblem they attacked shinja with like poetry in motion. but to no avail. Sho listening to the attacks, feeling the dish vibrate on the ground he saw to attack at the cresting point of there passing could do the job, but he did not know if Shinja could hit three targets. thinking to Shinja "you think you can hit three targets at the same time?" "hell no, I know I can!" shinja thought back in a cocky aditude. "Ok, on the next pass." Sho thought back as the gangster trio pasted one more time, Shinja struck the blade closest to sho; teeth bared at lightning speeds, while tail spearing the blade next to the crownie on the left, and swinging her blade into the leader, Axel's blade. they laughed at such a weak attack until there blades hit Shinja again, falling apart. with a smerk sho said "they are mine now!" to the three bladers.

Miki continued her slumber, giving out soft rises of breaths. But also occasionally shivering. She was wearing a tank top, leaving her arms bare to the cold. Rather ironic since she controls the cold, yet she is sensitive to it.
Kai picked up the used saucer and fork, noting on the side that Miki was shivering slightly. After leaving the dishes in the sink - he'd wash them later - the slate-haired teen ducked into the bedroom, coming out a few moments later with a pale blue blanket in hand. This he unfolded and then spread over his twin. Hopefully it would be enough to warm her up, even just a little.
-----------------------------
Diana shrugged and got herself another slice “Wonder what your culinary skills taste like Kurozuki, I better not get a case of food poisoning” she teased. It was rather good to be teasing someone, well she was asleep from the boredom.
"Ha!" Houka let out a bark of laughter. "Speak for yourself, Murphy; wouldn't want to taste anything you make, that's for sure," she retorted. She knew, of course, that the brunette was just teasing; it was the same for her.

Diana chuckled “Good point, I do have the guts to actually use poison but that’s Black Widow’s method.” Diana clamped her mouth shut. “s**t! I had to say that!” she yelled at herself mentally for letting the name slip.
The sea green-eyed girl snickered at the look on Diana's face. "Still stuck on Black Satan, I take it? Don't worry, I won't let slip the codenames or what there killing methods are..."
She took the last bite from her slice of cake, and then pushed the saucer away a little. The blader with the half-snake, half-woman bitbeast had something of an aversion to too much dessert before dinnertime even rolled around. She stood up, taking her saucer and fork with her, dropping these off at the sink before grabbing another glass and going to the fridge for some water. She was thirsty now, maybe because of the cake she'd just eaten.
-----------------------------
Miki stopped shivering and opened her eyes slowly to see her brother putting a blanket on her. Smiling to herself, she closed her eyes and whispered a silent “Thank you, big brother” and went back to sleep.
Kai, seeing this, allowed the barest of smiles to curve his lips. "Dou itashimashite, Miki..." After making sure the blanket wouldn't somehow drape to the floor while his sister slept, the slate-haired teen went to the kitchen to take care of his still-unwashed dishes - including those from that morning. The chore didn't take too long - only around 15 minutes total - and when he was done, Kai left them in the dryer, and then ducked back into the bedroom.
He came out a few minutes later with a black notebook and a pen. Kai seated himself on the armchair, propped the notebook on the armrest, and began to scribble away his thoughts on everything that had happened so far. It wasn't often that he used his journal, but the crimson-eyed teen felt that now was a good time to write down at least part of a reflection on the recent occurences.

Diana shifted uneasily from the chair and poured herself another glass of milk “All of us got different methods of killing anyway. Vlad uses a stake to impale his victims, Jack uses a knife to rip apart his victims, Black Widow uses poison, Hannibal Lecter butchers his victims, and Death Angel uses syringes to insert poisons in the body.” Drinking the glass, she sighed “Not really a bad bunch but sometimes it can be pretty out of hand since Death Angel was a doctor and he kills people.”
Houka sipped at her water, calm as you please. She wasn't put off by this sort of talk, nor was she overly shocked at it. What shocked her earlier was, most likely, the revelation that Diana - the girl sitting at the table across from her - had been part of a group responsible for a number - who knew exactly how many? - of unexplainable, unsolved murders.
"I see. I'm a bit familiar with some of the historical murderers you mentioned - Vlad the Impaler, Jack the Ripper, and Black Widow, to be exact. But I'm not sure I've heard of Death Angel." The auburn-haired teen shrugged, then took another sip. "But its a bit...disturbing - a doctor who takes life rather than saves it..."
-----------------------------
Late afternoon, sometime around 5, Miki managed to wake up and groggily turn to the side. She had fallen asleep on the couch. She remembered Kai giving her a blanket so she won’t get cold. Smiling gently, she didn’t stand up but instead, just let her body lie down for the moment to rest. Then maybe she could make Kai dinner, since it was such a long time since she cooked for somebody. Her brother will most likely to be the 1st to try.
At length, Kai capped his pen and closed the notebook, getting to his feet at the same time. That was one of the longest journal-writing sessions he'd had - and most of the entry comprised of his thoughts on the bladers he'd met recently, more so on Kei, as she was a new teammate and all. Before going into the bedroom to put his journal and pen back in their place, he took a quick glance at the couch. Miki hadn't moved, which meant she was probably still asleep. The crimson-eyed teen made sure not to make too much noise so as not to disturb his twin.
-----------------------------
Kei blinked, once, twice, and then sat up slowly. From her vantage point on the bed, she could see the sky was beginning to darken. The brunette got up, slipped her feet into the soft, cerulean slippers she used indoors, and made her way to the door and downstairs.
"...Kei-san?" One of the househelp peered out from the kitchen doorway, and the amethyst-eyed blader turned to look at her. "Hai?"
"Is there anything you'd like for dinner?" the young woman - around the same age as Kei's own mother - asked, looking apologetic. "I missed you when you came home earlier, and I didn't want to disturb you when you were napping, but...your parents both left for an urgent business trip when you were out; they'll be gone for at most five days."
Kei looked thoughtful, digesting this new information, and then shook her head. "Thank you, baa-ya, for telling me this, but I decided I won't be eating here. Not tonight, at least." She smiled, already forming a plan in her mind on how to spend the rest of the night. "You and Mika-san may take the rest of the night and tomorrow off if you wish; I'm sure you can use the break, and don't worry about me. I can take care of myself."
Before Kei's 'baaya' - something like a nanny - could reply, the sacred soul-bearer had whisked off into the living room and picked up the phone. She didn't have to check the list of phone numbers taped on the table; she knew the number by heart.
"Moshi-moshi. Hiromi?... Yeah, its me... Woah, woah, slow down with the questions!" Kei said, laughing a bit. "I'll tell you all about it. Tonight. Yes, you guessed it: they're out on a trip. Think Nia and Ruri are at home?.... uh...okay... that sounds fine... no, no, I want you to pick where we're eating tonight. Yeah, see you in half an hour. 'Bye!" There was a 'click!' as the auburn-haired teen at the other end cradled the phone, which Kei did a moment later. There, part of the rest of her night was set up.

Diana looked at Houka and looked back at the glass of milk she emptied moments ago. “John Mengele was a brilliant doctor. But he was rather obsessed with trying to figure out what are the genetic makeups of our bodies. Mostly the disorders, like Siamese twins having joint body parts, dwarves being so small or twins looking identically alike but different in personality.
"He tries to experiment on them by dissecting their bodies. Mostly on twins actually, if one twin dies the other is useless and is usually gassed to death. He does whatever he wants since he works for a military camp and usually his victims were the ones who are caught from the enemy."
The auburn-haired teen blanched. She didn't need to know that part, but too late, she'd already been told.
"I...okay..." she said, quite at a loss for what to say. While curiosity was good - after all, one couldn't learn if one wasn't curious - but that was taking things a bit too far. "Quite a crowd you ran with, Murphy..."
-----------------------------
Miki rubbed her temple, trying to ease the sudden gush of pain she felt. Sitting up to a more comfortable position, she held her head painfully and decided to get a glass of water. Once she poured herself a glass, she sat on the table with her left hand on her head and her right holding the glass. She had to have a headache.
Hearing the soft footfalls, and then later the slight clink of a glass being taken out of the rack in the kitchen, Kai went out of the bedroom. Perhaps...
The slate-haired teen could see the couch was empty, and just visible over the countertop was a shock of dark blue hair. Yes, it was Miki, just as he'd thought.
Kai went over to where she was, stopping short when he saw that his twin was clutching at her head. "...Miki?" he ventured, not really expecting an answer. It was just as well that he kept a first aid kit in one of the cupboards, just in case the blue-haired girl really needed medicine. It had the basics - generic medicines for headaches, colds, body pains, and other medical supplies one couldn't do without in a house or apartment.

Miki removed her left hand from her head to look at her brother standing a good distance from the table. Smiling, she placed her left hand on the table “I am fine Oniichan, just a small headache that’s all”. She stood up to return the empty glass, only to clutch her head once more.
Kai frowned. It didn't look like 'just a small headache'. He opened the leftmost cupboard and took out the first aid kit. Personally, he hadn't had to use the items within on himself, but the crimson-eyed teen was still glad to have had it on hand. He took out two small packets - one contained aspirin to help with the pain, while the other was more to help clear the headache. Or so it was advertised to; Kai hadn't tried it and so couldn't attest to its effectivity. Still, it was what he had to work with. And if it didn't work, well, there was the drugstore across the street.
He took the glass from Miki, refilled it, and then set it and the medicine packets in front of his twin. "Here," he said, already opening the aspirin. "You might as well take these, rather than sit there cradling your head; I doubt that helps much."
-----------------------------
Diana shrugged again and decided to take out a small box of Pocky sticks and took out one and placed it on her mouth “Well, we are assassins for hire. Black Satan doesn’t hire wimps. Nor do they hire some guy who just enjoys killing. The lower ranks got titles like “Blade Master” or “Saw”. Depends on their method of killing. But my group, named after the God of Time “Chronos” were rather special.
Think of this as some parts of a whole. So basically we are separated but we belong to an even larger group of elite killers. And so we are given the name Chronos. It kinda has its advantage. We are given more homey residence and got more special treatment but it can also be a disadvantage. We got the most hardest and cruel jobs. Like killing an official and framing someone. But mainly, we just follow a customer’s orders if he doesn’t have the guts to do the job himself.”
Biting on another Pocky, she continued “I must be tiring you with this entire life story. Must be pretty boring, all killing and murder. Heh”.
"Nah." Houka waved away the comment. "Not boring; more like...surprising, really. And interesting."
Her glass empty, the sea green-eyed blader set about washing and rinsing it off, all the while mulling over the newly acquired information in her mind. The day before she ran away from Balkov Abbey, the day she'd learned the awful truth of her circumstances... she'd heard Balkov mention having gone to assassins-for-hire to do 'the job' - the job that resulted in Houka's immediate family being slaughtered. Hearing Diana's 'story'...it triggered that memory, and she couldn't help thinking that she'd like to find out which group the Russian had gone to that time.
The auburn-haired teen let out a small sigh as she returned the glass to its rack. "Do you miss it, though? Your old 'job'?" Strange question to ask, but the girl really was wondering about that.

Miki knew there was no point to argue and obediently took the medicine and popped it into her mouth and drank the filled glass. She went to drink the other one and sat down. Looking at Kai, she gave a smile of gratitude and went to the ref, rummaging through the stuff, trying to find something.
Finally reaching into the bottom, she took out a plastic bag of small potatoes and set them on the counter. She went back to take out a few eggs, a small block of cheese and some salad greens. She placed them on the counter and set to work.
Meanwhile, Kai was secretly relieved Miki hadn't argued. He knew just how stubborn she could be, and it would have taken a lot more to get her to take even just one of the two pills. As the blue-haired girl was busy with what couldn't have been anything but dinner preparations, he took her glass and rinsed it off; he felt more at ease if he had something to do.
-----------------------------
Diana blinked at the question. Sometimes people have this ability to ask something that can already answer a lot of questions. Looking at the small chocolate stick in her hand, she answered “I don’t know. I just needed a living that’s all. It can be cruel, killing people for money. But that was what I was trained to do. My family practically put me into a dojo and left me there the 1st chance I was old enough to be trained. All my life, I learned nothing but to defend myself and kill. So maybe, I don’t want that life. Just want to be free to do what I want and not to take people’s lives just because someone wants their lives to end.
And besides…”. Diana leaned back “I am sick of doing other people’s dirty business anyway. If they want to kill someone, let them kill the guy themselves.”
"...I see."
Perhaps she shouldn't have asked that, but no use wishing that now; what's done was done. It was no wonder Diana acted the way she did, from what the auburn-haired teen heard of her story. Like I said earlier, we both got the short end of the stick... Houka thought to herself. Then, something made the girl look up at the off-white kitchen clock.
"Hey, Murphy, you said you wondered what my culinary skills were like. Care to find out?" Since Diana had done that transport thing with all the groceries, the sea green-eyed blader knew there were some basic ingredients in the fridge and cupboards now, perhaps enough for a simple dish.

Miki once again put on the apron and set to work. She washed, peeled and cut the potatoes in cubes and mashed them, adding around 6 eggs in the mixture. Adding also some ham, which she found in the freezer, she cut it up and mixed it in.
Covering her hands with flour, she started to mould them into fat cylinders but not forgetting to add a small thick line of cheese inside. Rolling them in bread crumbs, she continued to make them until she made around 15 of them. There was still some left in the bowl, she decided to make some later in case they ran out and covered it with plastic wrap.
Kai, having nothing more to do, sat down in the seat Miki had just vacated and watched her bustle around. Her movements in the kitchen were reminding him very much of their mother's at that moment. She even handles the utensils the same way... the slate-haired teen thought.
Taking out a pair of thongs from the cupboard, she went to get a small soup pan and filled it with oil and heated it for a few minutes. Once the oil was hot enough, carefully, she placed the cylinders one by one. Waiting for them to cook evenly or turning golden brown, Miki placed them in a strainer hanging by a bowl to catch the oil from the cooked cylinders.
She waited for it the cool; she went to make the salad. Miki tossed a few greens, added some chopped tomatoes, a few egg slices, fried tofu cubes, and a bit of sesame seed dressing on top. Tossing them lightly, she placed the bowl of the table and checked the potato cylinders for their temperature. Smiling in satisfaction, she placed them on a plate and placed out 2 plates with the forks and knives.
"...that was fast," her brother commented, looking at the already-set table and the food that Miki had prepared. "There's no question about it: anything to do with cooking, you already have me beat."
-----------------------------
Diana smirked “Alright, let’s see what you got, Kurozuki”. Diana took the box of Pocky sticks and put it inside the ref. She hasn’t finished eating the candy, but she is rather intrigued by Houka’s “cooking”. “I hope I really don’t get a case of food poisoning,” she thought to herself.
Houka grinned, then went to wash her hands. Afterwards, she went to the fridge and took out a few carrots, a half-head of lettuce, and half a bunch of cauliflower. Oh, good, she thought, relieved, when she found that there was a pack of ready-to-fry squid balls in the freezer. Strangely enough, she hadn't been able to scare up any celery, but decided that it was better that way. She was preparing her mother's version of chop suey.
She turned on the stove, found a suitable pan and put it on, turning on the gas range at she did so. While she waited for that to heat, she went to work chopping up half an onion and two cloves of garlic. Then she reached for the carrots, opting to leave them unpeeled since most of the nutrients were in the skin anyway; she'd just wash them thoroughly before putting them in the mix. She needed to work fast since she couldn't allow the pan to overheat - it would cause oil to splatter out later on - and the carrots would take the longest to prepare.
After putting a bit of oil, then the minced onion and garlic into the pan, she brought out a pot and put that on the other gas range, adding just enough oil to deep-fry four squid balls at a time. Then, after checking the pan, she added water - there wasn't quite enough oil to cause an adverse reaction - and then the carrots, as they would take the longest to cook properly.

"Kei! Over here!"
The amethyst-eyed teen turned in the direction of the voice, then waved. "Hiromi! Nia! Ruri!" She fairly ran towards her friends, eager to get their little get-together started.
"...well, you seem fine..." Ruri commented. "I mean, from that run-in with the girl with freaky aura powers..."
Kei chuckled, punching her blonde friend playfully on the arm. "You know nothing keeps me down for long, Ruri! Of course I feel fine!" She stepped back a bit and glanced around at the busy street, which was steadily getting busier. "So...where are we headed?"

Diana sniffed the aroma emitting from the kitchen and admitted to herself that it was tasty. “Must be Chop suey” she thought to herself and popped out a book from a small shelf next to the couch and started to read. She was rather a bookworm, she found it rather relaxing and spent the time rather than waiting her a** off.
Houka left the squid balls to drain - she didn't want the chop suey to be oily - then added the cauliflower (the last vegetable to be added), a bit more water and some starch to thicken the soup, which was a tad too watery for this dish, and a bit of pepper to add zest.
In less than five minutes, she had sliced up the squid balls and added them into the pan. She mixed the whole thing a few times the 'traditional way' - giving the pan's contents a little toss with the help of a ladle to make sure everything was mixed thoroughly - and then went to spoon out the rice, which she'd had steaming soon after she started on the chop suey - onto separate plates.
At length, the table was set. Two plates - one for her and another for Diana - with rice topped with chop suey, two glasses, and of course, spoons and forks, as the sauce from the chop suey would make the rice too soft to be picked up using a fork alone.
"Yo, Murphy! Dinner's on!"

Miki blushed softly at her brother’s comment “Arigatou Oniichan, you can eat now if you want to. While it’s still hot” she said while taking off the yellow apron.
Again, Kai let show that smile he reserved solely for his sister, then shook his head. "I'd rather we ate together, just like earlier. Just like before." The crimson-eyed teen took the apron from his twin and went to hang it on the hook where he knew it had been hanging before Miki took and used it.
"...Miki, you wouldn't mind playing 'cook' while you're here, would you?" He knew he needn't be ashamed asking a favor of his sister - they were related, after all - but..he still was, even if it was only slightly. After all, he wasn't used to doing such things.

A crowd gathered after the bey battle that aspired. Shinja infuriated at the trio, snapped at them when they they tried to get there broken blades out of the dish. the group mobbing over the dish trying to help get the blades as shinja bit and swung at them. fed up with grabbing at the blades a young boy ripped his blade to get them out. Smashing it like the others it exploded into parts. Then more joined in on the free for all to recover the lost parts. Beating blade after blade down, shinja thought that there was at least a hundred blade battling against her. Defeating most of them on the heaping pile of parts filling well over three quarters of the dish. A tall green haired man yelled above the crowd "quit the massacre." the little boy who lost his blade first said " but we are the ones losing." with a sniffle. working his way to the dish, the green haired stanger asked "will you give there parts back?" listening to Shinja smash another blade Sho replied casaully "not my call." with a shrug. "then who's is it?" "Shinja's of course" "Shinja, will you give them back?" thinking to Sho he "will have take them." "come and get them." sho hissed to the man.
