Good for you then!

On Episode 46!

First, I have to say, I'm utterly ashamed that I totally notice that in Zorc and Cody they actually clipped in Zach (whom Zorc is suppose to be replacing) half the time. Which thus would make the show Zorc and Zach (or at least Zorc and Cody or Zach), which not only does not sound right, it also means BOTH main characters are idiotic troublemakers, which can never work. I can't help it though, boredom did persuade me to watch the show, and the twins are NOT identical. Also! They stole my birthday *pouts*... razz

Second, I've decided that Yuugi should totally say damn skippy more often, that's an awesome catchphrase for him.

Third, YB should totally hug YM...and also, TAS Malik is making canon Malik seem SO much less annoying, oye ~_~.

Anyhow, definitely not one of my favorite episodes I have to say. Especially for a season finale, though I did kinda like the end with Noa being all douche like. Overall, too much fluff. Whatever though, what-freakin-ever! Umm...I dunno anymore, totally just random, going to blame the sleepy and going to poof now.

*poof*

Oh wow, that's insane that you noticed that. XD My sister used to watch Zach and Cody, so I saw a few episodes, but I was never able to tell them apart at all. Only twins I've ever been able to tell apart without them having different hairstyles/whatever are my own nieces. XD And that takes a lot of observation, which I'm not very good at.
I do have to agree that it wasn't one of the best episodes though. Like it was still great and all, but it seemed a bit downgraded compared to the epicness of the more recent episodes. Especially the first half or so, which was pretty slow and boring. Got better later on though, and Noa was awesome with the Big Five. XD I can't wait for the virtual world!

I liked 46, but Stand By Me is a brilliant song, so I would. And I actually laughed when it changed to the cover, even though the actual cover annoys me.

I don't know if other people hated that, but I thought it was cool. =D

And I don't know who Zach and Cody are, so I kind of switch off when they appear. >>

K, sodding off for real now

@Kits - if you watch the spin off (I've only seen a few episodes of that I swear!! ~_~) it gets even easier to tell them apart. Cody is significantly taller and a lot thinner than Zach. They aren't identical at all. When the are younger they slightly pass for it, but yes I must admit I've watched it enough to be able to tell them apart even then. I recognize the mannerisms in their facial expressions.

Yea, the end was definitely the best part and does have me slightly excited for virtual world. I just hope it's more parody and less spoof references to other shows in the future. I feel like LK is doing that more and more and I can't say I'm overly fond of that.

@Morgey - I love Stand By Me as well, but I just felt that it dragged on too long without actually being plot - which would have been fine if there had been plot in what came before, but there wasn't. Just a crack reference to a so-so Disney show and a gay joke that actually wasn't delivered very well. And too much nonsensical fluff with Yuugi/Yami/Anzu (some of that was funny, a lot was just meh though, I felt it could have been funnier).

Those are just my opinions though. I think because I had a dream I watched the episode 2 - 3 weeks ago, and thus have been waiting for it for awhile (with the expectation my dream gave of it being amazing) I was a little let down. Stupid dreams, always setting me up for failure. razz

I get ya. I don't know that it needed to be in there twice if I'm honest, but I like it so ner.

I got bored with TAS a while ago - it just sort of stopped being funny, so I'm probably being kinder on it than I normally would (because I hate everything ESPECIALLY things I love) because it's almost like coming to it fresh. Aha.

I had to go looking for the first line of the gay joke and it took me long enough, so I can't laugh at Malik for taking ages to get it. =[

Hmm. Rather your dreams than mine. Mine tend to have zombies. I don't know why you need to know that, but oh well.

Yea, it's gotten a lot less funny, which I've refused to accept thus far - random good episodes make it easier to hold onto the delusion - hence me being disappointed. I don't even feel like it necessarily should have died, the way things that just "drag on" to long too...he changed the style of what he was doing, got too heavy with the references and parodies of other things. Had he not done that it might not have been so bad, but blah.

Ok, I'm just going to admit it, I STILL can't find the first line of that joke, I looked twice and then gave up because it was bugging me that I couldn't find it. Maybe I didn't go back far enough. I just accept that it's there because the punchline is, so yea, obviously I can't laugh at Malik either. And not being able to laugh at a parody series is such a crime.

HA! You know that's funny, because if you went over to the dreams thread you'd find that my dreams have a rather lot of zombies as well. That TAS dream was random and weird in a sea of supernatural nightmares. But yea, I just finished updating about zombies and whatnot over there. Because one of my most recent dreams a few days ago was kind of a zombie genre/Saw crossover. Hooray...crazed serial killer AND zombies, because one alone wasn't bad enough! ~_~. I also had a YGO dream in the same night, which is how this seemingly unrelated dream ended up on that thread btw, haha. Actually, the last time I updated the thread with a dream (not counting the TAS one) had been zombies in the world of YGO...I think I have a propensity to dream about zombies if I dream about YGO. Lame.

@Morgey: Zach and Cody are twins on a TV show where they live in a hotel... and they always get into trouble together, typical kid's sitcom. I do find it hilarious though that they are Tristan's consciences. XD

@JK: Ah, yeah, I only saw a few episodes of when it first started, because my sister moved out maybe after just one season if I had to guess? I still can't even remember if Zach is the one I like or the one I hate though. XD
Mm, I concur about the parody references. They're funny enough usually, and sometimes pretty hilarious (like Tristan's Zach and Cody and Shaadi looking like Piccolo), but it is seeming overdone now, and not all of them are funny.
You guys think it's gotten less funny? Hmm, I kinda feel the opposite. Like I do agree that there are too many references compared to how it used to be, but at the same time, it also seems like the jokes that aren't references have gotten a lot funnier than his older material, except with this last episode of course.
Yes, our silly zombies discussion is quite conicidental. XD

I agree, I liked Zach and Cody as the conscience thing myself, but did we need to bring the reference back again for the Zorc thing? Especially for someone like Morgey, who if they don't know the show, it probably wasn't funny the first time, and it's once again not very funny the second time. Do you like the smart geeky one who uses big words or the stupid slacker one (who fails 8th grade - he makes it up in summer school, but that would be later than season 1 I think)? If it's the former you like Cody, the latter you like Zach. I like Cody, even if he is a dork, Zach doesn't have enough dimension to him and he's kind of selfish.

Umm...but to talk about a less lame show...hahaha...and I think a lot of the material is funny too, but the references are way too heavy. They aren't sometimes, they are a lot of times, so they overshadow for me whether or not the stuff that is originally him is good. I mean in the beginning I loved TAS because it was this quirky mock of the show that was nonetheless somewhat true to the original (and I loved things like mocks on the fact that the game in the show doesn't exactly make sense most of the time). I'm so distracted by the other references that I think I'd have to go back and watch a lot to tell you whether or not I think it is indeed funnier.

So it's not that I have the opposite opinion of you, at least I'm pretty sure that's not it. Because I don't want to make the claim that the writing has dried up, because I don't think it has...I'm pretty sure it hasn't. He just needs to focus more on the writing and less on ripping on Disney shows. Even if it means a longer amount of time between episodes, I mean I'd finally gotten used to that, I don't need them rushed off at a better rate now at the sake of quality.

Coincidences are always fun...^_^

Oh, yeah, I do have to agree about the repeat Zork and Cody joke thing. XD It was kind of funny, but seemed over-done. Plus now I'm gonna miss Zork and Pals. D:
Oh, and if that's the case, Cody is the one I like. XD I agree with you about Zach.
Ah, I see, I see. Yeah, I think the thing that's bugging me the most about some of the references is how he's using them to completely change the story. Like how that alien told Kaiba about Kisara... that was just weird, and not very funny. I thought it would've been more interesting if Kaiba had the memory, then started freaking out thinking he was going insane or realized he might possibly be straight or something like that.
So I guess our opinions are really the same then. XD We like the new material, just wish it didn't rely on the references like it does.
I watched a movie today where someone said that coincidences don't exist, and everything happens for a reason. But seriously, what the hell would the reason be for us talking about zombie dreams in two threads at the same time? XD

Yea Zorc needs to have ONE sitcom, and Zorc and Pals is way better.

Haha...possibly be straight...as if, hahahaha. Yea, the references just tend to overwrite plot elements that would be better to see played out. And yes, I like the new material but the references need to stop being heavier than the plot.

Oh coincidences SO exist...but hmm...maybe there IS a higher power who is totally benefiting from us talking about zombies randomly in two different arenas. Nah, too silly.

Aha, that is a funny coincidence. I guess it means we can high five *High five*

I'm pretty sure the first bit of the gay joke is
YMalik: I always knew you wanted me to be inside you Bakura
Malik: What do you suppose he means by that?

I'm too used to thinking of them as seperate entities.

I follow a pathetically small amount of things, so reference-heavy things aren't going to be got by me. =[

Hmm, I went back and had a look at earlier episodes, and to be fair, it flows a lot better now. But I think my problem with the newer episodes is that I miss how sardonic it used to be ( and don't like the gummi-bears thing.).

Hahaha...woot...*high five*

RIGHT! Yea, I remember it now that I see it (I wasn't going back far enough), but it's so spaced out between beginning and conclusion that it isn't quite as funny. Too much hug action in between - without any actual hug action, mmm, that'd be nice ^_^.

I've known pretty much every reference, but I prefer things to stand on their own...I mean especially something like a parody series which is already in and of itself a reference.

I miss that sardonic nature as well, I concur.
