Crazy computer make Soultrain angry! scream
I'm trying to get my Dad's computer up on the network and on the net. It's talking to the router, but not the net. TO top it all off, I restarted because of Network changes, and it won't boot. It gets about halfway thorugh loading Windows 98, and locks up. It will go into safe mode, but I don't know what voodoo magic to work to fix the damn thing. So I'm reloading Windows. evil

I finally gave up on it last night when it the reinstall locked up, I thought the best thing to do was to throw it into a lake. It's alright when you first turn it on, but the longer it's on, the worse it gets. Maybe something is cracked on the mainboard? xp

Wow, I remember ol' '98... I hear its instability is second only to ME XD My '98 machine really liked crashing, too v_v Of course, that is indeed why lakes and heights and baseball bats were invented! biggrin We can always go Office Space on it, too! whee

98 wasn't that bad. I mean, XP kicks it a**, but compared to 95, it was a godsend.
I formatted and installed 98 back on the comp. It's halfway stable, but I still can't get it to talk to the internet. It's talking to the router, but it won't go through it. Stupid wireless stuff not working. stare

Well, I finally got my Dad's compy working again. It's surfing the net and chugging along. What sucks, is that I found out that Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 98 SE.....MONDAY! gonk

Well, as far as getting my parents a new computer, they'll just wait 'til about Christmas time or something. I bight them a new key board and a CD-R 56X drive 'cause they had no working drives.... Yup, much better now...

Yeah, I third that statement! 3nodding It's a lotta fun, tracing the roads around your home, or seeing the rice paddies in Japan! whee Google makes lotsa nifty little things! Do any of you have Google Desktop? It's very useful!
