Sunstrike squeaked in surprise at the hat, and Mary yanking him out onto the floor. Everything was loud and happy, and he couldn't quite believe yet that it was all happening.
She was close, he was closer, and then her lips pressed to his cheek and something strange happened again. She probably wouldn't have noticed, pulling him past Marcel towards the bowl. Pain reflected in his eyes as he remembered something that he shouldn't have.
He didn't know what to feel, emotions warred within himself, before finally getting pushed away. Sun decided that anything that caused so much pain didn't really have to be dealt with anymore. He was here, now. And no past would rule him.

::Mary hadnt noticed, she was entirely too enraptured in the moment. Alas such was the way with tiny teenage girls. She only saw the here and now, even if she saw the look on his face she probably wouldnt recognize it. Mary's only major loss was her mother, other than that the pangs of the heart were always being warded away by her father. She was sheltered, her heart one of the only things on her that wasnt patchwork.
The Doctor however knew that look all to well. He remembered pecks from his lovely wife. He remembered passionate moments, and an empty void that was and will always be there. It was painful, but he pushed on in the effort to make things right here and now. Not then, the here and now being Lucian. And so the resolve that overtook Datho's expressions caused him to smile and nod.
And it of course confused the pants out of Lucian who looked entirely baffled and tugged his fathers pant legs. And said.::
Father, what are you smiling at?
::The Doctor just kneeled down and ruffled Lucians hair.::
You'll understand when your older.
::Mary was of course entirely into the moment, she scooped up the punch with one of those big oversized spoons and pour it into two plastic cups, red cups and spun around offering it to Datho.::
You ok?
::She had just seen a glimpse of an "odd" look on his face, so she was curious, yet oblivious.::

He blinked at her in surprise, before settling into a rather secretive smile, leaning closer. Carefully he tucked a curl of her hair over her ear, effortlessly.
"One of these days...I'll tell you, Mary." The cup's plastic was cool in his hands as he gently accepted it. He looked back to the doctor, feeling better then he had for days, weeks...
Weeks?
The cup started to fall from his hand, the hat slipped off and clattered to the floor.
He'd felt it build, from last night, to today, the elevator, everything, remembering how he'd felt the last few weeks was the catalyst for the pain that exploded through the back of his mind and drove him to his knees.
This was a bad attack, not necessarily worse then the others, they could never really be judged but the weak little repeated "I promise, i promise" that he mumbled wasn't getting rid of the sparks that tore into his mind.
And something....began to pull in pockets of the magic field around the hospital. It was only testing, there was no damage, but to be able to fight against the machines that held such a creation in place...it wasn't magic...more like a force that attracted or ripped it out of air even as far out as beyond the shielding.

::Again despite her pale skin, her blushing showed through pretty obviously. He was totally touching her hair, and her air...and, and getting closer. She had one of those clearly goofy grins on her face. She giggled at his answer, the idea of actually having him hear without leaving was sounding better and better.
Needless to say, the birthday boy being floored during the birthday party was not part of the original plan. Marys cup spilled red punch all over the floor as she immediately dropped to her knees with her hands on his shoulders, very much panicked.::
Datho!? Datho whats wrong?!
::Marcel froze in mid dance, but he really didnt know what to do. He grunted at Datho and at his father but...the Doctor was already in motion. Unfortunately he found his motion halted by a very very big sneeze. Followed by another, followed by another. The Doctors magic allergy kicking into overdrive due to the intense purity of the arcana being drawn in. He wasnt even able to keep a solid thought so as to even big figuring out where and how the magic got passed his field. After about 4 violent sneezes his nose actually began to bleed.
Lucian found himself stuck between his father, his sister, and his friend. But actually managed to get nothing done but run back and forth between the 3.
Needless to say, shock was the emotion of the moment. And how, or why, was no one knew the answer two, except maybe one....::

"I...can't...doctor, I'm sorry, I'm really sorry, I..."
Not only was he losing the tenuous hold on his own mind. He was losing control of the darkness in his mind.
Picture someone over a chasm, and then picture that one person trying to build a plug to seal up infinity, and that's what Sunstrike's mind was like. It was amazing enough that he'd managed as well as he had before.
The salamander had been stationed in front of the door that kept it in, a wound of darkness that was only made worse for removing the creature that guarded it. Datho knew what it was.
The Abyss, the hunger...
And knew there was only one way to save what he'd gained only moments before.
Sunstrike shut off. Everything. Breathing, heartbeat, mind. If he'd been attached to a heart monitor, it would instantly flatline.
His head hit the ground and his eyes stayed open.
It was a risk, a hell of a one, especially if the doctor didnt' recover fast enough from the instant recession of magic. But there was no other way to strangle something testing it's boundaries. The field of anti magic returned to normal, and the lights flickered.
Before he'd gone under, he absently remembered the figure of dark, in the snow. Sun had no idea about the barriers that kept death from knocking on the doctors door, so he wondered if he'd see that strange being once again.

::He was not disappointed, directly in Datho's line of sight, directly outside the rather large windows surrounding this lab there he sat. His large black feathered wings holding him steadily in place outside the home, his scythe rested horizontally across both hands. But Death had been shown the door entirely too many times now for it gain access now. It was true, she was frantic, but that nurses outfit was not just for show. In a blink the panicked little girl was silenced, and the nurse came out to work. With watered eyes threatening to ruin her make up she flipped Datho onto his back. Her right hand under her left and directly on his sternum.:: No!::She shouted as she made her first pump at his chest.:: No you dont!::As she made two more, and dropped her head down to his lips checking for breathing. And then she continued, her voice almost sounding angry. But not at Datho.:: You cant have him!::She pushed harder, and harder still. She wasnt physically strong enough to break his ribs, but she was going to put everything she had into this. The constant thumping tossed her once nicely brushed hair into its usually crazed style.:: He's home now! Give him back!::After about 9 thumps, she paused. She checked for breathing everything 3, all she could do was pray. Otherwise...well she was a little too embarassed to think about that right now.::

Silence, thump thump. Mary's beatings and breath echoed.
Finally, in the middle of a thump, there was a gasp and a bit of a choking sound from Sun as he came back around. He coughed up a little blood from the beating his sternum had taken, but beyond that, his ragged breathing, and bleary eyes showed that he was back among the living, if you can call it that.
Frightened, the darkness had receeded for the moment, catastrophe averted, leaving only a throbbing migraine in its place, probably from where Sun's head had impacted with the floor. Little lights flashed along his vision, and everything took on a distorted, broken glass, quality that you get with that sort of severe head ache.
Shock had knocked his eyes back a knotch or two as well, the yellow pooling towards the center, rimed by orange and red, giving him a wild look.
"Ow..." It was all he could really muster.

Sunstrike "Ow..." It was all he could really muster. ::Seconds, were hours, she waited hoped, and was just a moment from praying when she heard the thumps and the breaths.:: Datho!::She screamed, like someone who had just watched a friend disembark off a plane and was running to greet them. Though with the desperation on her tone you might think they saw a dead friend. Blood was nothing to worry about, she was just too happy to see him alive. Her arms reached forward and slung around his neck lifting him a bit off the ground.:: Thank you, thank you, thank you...your not allowed to leave...::For a moment she shot a vicious glare at the window, and then back to Datho. For the moment all she could think to do was hold on.:: Yeow...dieses brände...::The Doctor explained as he made his way to Mary and Datho with a napkin held to his nose.:: Zhat shouldnt not have been possible for anyone below zhe 7th Power Spectrum. I zhink its time ve discussed Dazho's past...

Maximos Zhat SHOULDNT not have been POSSIBLE for anyone below zhe 7th Power SPECTRUM. I zhink its time ve discussed Dazho's past... And so on. Sunstrike's ear twitched as he slumped like an oversized doll in Mary's arms. Everything not only looked distorted, it sounded that way as well. It took him a little bit to sort through the words. " W-wait, doctor it...it might go off again?!" Panic laced his soft words and he receded as far as he could get around Mary. He buried his head against her hair and tried to block out any mention of what went on before. "Please...I don't want to hurt anyone anymore..." His voice was scratchy with pain and emotion. Sun knew how much he'd hurt Mary by going under, he knew the doctor was bleeding after what he'd done. And it still itched the back of his mind. "There's no control...no switch..." He remembered the switches, he remembered the children playing...then all was fire.

It's so cold.
A smile.
This reminded Lazenca of being in the arctic reigons where he'd met up with Louveteau. It was much of the same... a man walking alone through the cold. Howling wind, a bit of snow... it was all the same. The big difference here was that liquids didn't freeze in seconds, and that Lazenca wasn't walking through a blizzard.
For the sake of convenience and shutting out the wind, Laz was wearing a gray tee that had its sleeves torn off. Upon his breast was the symbol of that place he held employment long ago, [R]Evolution. Remember to recall, reminisce and reflect. Walking through the snow... it gave him time to recover.
This was only one "stop" on the journey. There would soon be training in the element, and he would seek those hotter areas, so that he may build resistance. Lazenca found that the stronger he'd become in ice and water, the more heat bothered him... he found himself always freezing the air around him for it. Maybe at the end of all this, when the journey came to the conclusion and if he survived it all, Laz would be a better fighter, a better fighter... a better person.
But for now, where were only the sandals crunching through snow.

Yawn, stand, switch to left-leading.
Natural. Concealed. Baijon. Tenma ne Garo. Draw Ready. Tenma ne Gato. All fours.
Yawn, stand, and look around.
There was a crunching somewhere in the distance, an animal moving through the trees. Was it aware of Lazenca's presence? It wouldn't seem so, because it didn't sound hurried. It was alright though, for Lazenca wasn't hungry and wouldn't chase the animal, whatever it was. Snow usually made animal smells stand out- the scent of an elk, when there is nothing else around but frozen water and hardened soil?
"At least like this, I can't hurt anyone."
He tucked his right hand to his waist, index and middle fingers down, and ring and pinkie tucked into the palm, which was open to the imaginary opponent.
"Last time I tried this move... I almost hurt an ally."
As usual, there would be no visual cue that he was charging like lines drawing towards him or anything else a computer program would be needed to render, but his remaining still was a very good indication of it. Inhalation and exhalation was slow, and remained this way as a small point of blue light appeared in the middle of his palm. It was hard to see, because his tucked fingers partially hid it.
"And so... here I am."

The bands on his arm were colored as sivered, but lined in gold. though he blocked blades and clubs with them, they weren't bent or in danger of shattering. There was something about these gauntlets.
"Verstand..."
It was only an utterered word, but its effect was tremendous. Lazenca suddenly felt dizzy, and sa a flash of white, as if he were stuck in the face. Certain lines of his medium glowed, and his right arm felt heavy with the amount of power he was holding. Energy had to move and remain active... there had to be a purpose. The charging was taking a toll on him, especially since he had just multiplied his power. All of this, without thinking about the nec--
"YAAAA!"
Lazenca's body was forced downwards, feeling as if his hand were attatched to a weight. Then came the sound... or lack thereof. Somewhere in his mind, the sudden silence triggered an instinctual panic. He hadn't any need to worry about silence for long because it was then that a Manheim Steamroller, voiced by a chorus of shrill screams, assaulted his senses.
With it came a force so powerful that he was lifted off his feet, and thrown somewhere into a frozen tree. The ground he formerly stood on was frozen solid, a deep layer of ice surrounding a craggy crater.
"..."
And Lazenca, with a sore arm, was KO.

Sunstrike " W-wait, doctor it...it might go off again?! Please...I don't want to hurt anyone anymore...There's no control...no switch..." ::Amazingly the Doctor understood. Why not? He invented that wretched device, and he would reverse engineer it if it hadnt been destroyed in the accident that took his wifes life. For now, he had to think....a massive void...in ones conciousness...how does one fill it? The 7th Power Spectrum...spectrum of the g--he didnt even want to think about that. He wanted to save this child.:: Alright Dazho, I need you come vith me.F-fath--::Mary knew that tone and she didnt like it, she was about to speak up when, she was directly put back in her place by a sharp look from her father, and stern words.:: Clean zhis mess.::The Doctor reached for Dathos hand. There was a look of seriousness about his face, it wasnt evil, or malicious intent, it was born of deep concern for his family, for all he had worked for these many years. And for the sake of this very damaged boy.:: Come on Dazho. We're going to fix zhis.

Like Mary, Sunstrike winced at the sharp look, fingers tightening against the person he held. She smelled like flowers, of all things...even in a place like this. Sun looked at the offered hand and the look on the doctors face and at first he felt the cold stir against his mind and in his heart. Whether he was conscious of it or not, he'd become a threat to the people he was with, and he was afraid. Then the doctor spoke: Maximos Come on Dazho. We're going to fix zhis. It was as if the tall man had said a magic word, and Sunstrike found himself rising off the ground and reaching out to the hand, there was a small moment of cold as he left the girls embrace. Fix this...they were going to... Joy filled him and he grinned in responce. There had been a choice there, at one point, but with those words, with that promise, it was as if the chain had always been around his neck, the cuffs around his hands. But the weight of the decision might as well have been nonexistant. The few metallic bits of his outfit jingled as he limped to the doctor, casually rubbing a hand against the bump where his head had hit the floor and when he felt the gloved hand slip into his own, he let himself look back to Mary on the floor, a soft smile and a wave. Everything was going to be alright now, the look said, just before he turned back to follow the doctor.

::Unfortunately Mary never got the chance to look and see Datho's face. When the Doctor ordered her to do something, not asked, she did it without hesitation. And his tone showed he was in no mood to be defied. She grabbed a few napkins off the nearby table and on her hands and knees began wiping up the spilled punch.
Marcel let out something of a saddened groan as Datho and the Doctor walked past him to the elevator. Something just didnt seem right.
The Doctor lead Datho the elevator, and with a single buttom press, sent the small metal box to the very bottom floor. It was a long trip, and the Doctor had questions...But to set things off, he'd give a few answers.::
Zhere are nine known power spectrums Dazho. Zhe first through zhe third belong to zhe everyday creatures you see on Gaia. Zhe fourth, iz more for beings of mostly arcana, wraiths, elementals and zhe like. Zhe fifth and sixth are for zhe servants of gods, zhe angels, demons, avatars, and incarnates. Vhile zhe 7th is for zhe gods themselves. Zhe eighth and ninth are hardly seen, as zhey are for zhe elder gods, and supreme creators of zhis universe.
::The Doctor paused before those serious eyes met Datho.::
I know zhe horrible expirement I performed under zhe influence of Henry placed zhat creature vithin you. But my scanners placed it at only zhe 5th or 6th spectrum at zhe most. And your presence here tells me you are vithout it. Perhaps zhen you can tell me vhy, you vere able to access the 7th power spectrum zhen. Zhe boy I wronged zhose many years ago, I believed vas a boy...not a god.
