*He slid off the bed and bid her follow, hooves ringing slowly as he sauntered towards the kitchens. Once there, he settled at a table and bid ghouls seek food for them both - vitae for himself, a spread of fruits and cheese, croissants, fresh baked crusty breads and the like for Dae to choose from*
Eat well my dear. It will be a busy day.

Daegonna slid out of bed, and followed after him, a nervous frown on her face. She wasn't at all sure what he was up to, but she knew she wouldn't find out until he wanted her to. So she ate in silence, watching him suspiciously. When she had eaten her fill, she leaned forward, propping her elbows on the table, her chin resting in one palm. She knew Ice wouldn't tell her anything until he was good and ready, so she just waited patiently for him to finish.

*he was still sipping his way regally through vitae, but as soon as she finished, he began to talk, his tail flickering behind him*
I woke this morning to find Vengeance is much more herself. Her mind was no longer a painful flare of noise at the edge of consciousness, and some drive seems to have returned to her. I am expecting her to visit us in the near future. I do not think you need fear her wrath - she comes to see you are well and that I have not ravaged you in the last month or so.
*His voice was even, well paced, calm. His eyes rested firmly on her though as he spoke, though it was also obvious this was not the full extent of the nes. He wished to see how she took this bit first though*
What will you say to her? Will you tell her I have forced you?

Daegonna bit thoughtfully at her lower lip, slowly absorbing the news. Roan was back to herself, and was coming to see what had happened to Dae. The girl wasn't sure Roan wouldn't try to kill her. She had, after all, killed his son. Self-defense or not, she doubted Roan would appreciate that. At Ice's question, Daegonna raised a brow. "What?" She wasn't sure how to respond. "I don't know." She said at last. Honesty, if nothing else. "You forced the link on me in the first place, but, on the other hand, you have been relatively kind, and careful not to break me any further. You've not used the link to force me into your bed, or to do your bidding. I can't really scream 'rape' now, can I?" Daegonna had half-chosen to sleep in his bed, she'd half-chosen to cooperate, to allow him to touch her, and to give in to her own urges to touch him. She'd been fairly intimate with him, and allowed him to feed from her, something she had never thought to allow ANYONE to do, Ice least of all. That bothered her. It really bothered her. She had submitted to Ice all but willingly. Well...Sort of. She didn't have a choice. Or did she? She had the option of fighting the link, but that would be very bad for her. So she didn't actually have much of an option there. She could have insisted that Ice only feed from her while she slept, but that likely would have resulted in his hunger driving him to do terrible things. So she had been forced to cooperate, and Ice had been behind it, but his hands were tied too, and he'd been about as gentle as a creature like him could be. She shrugged. She didn't know what to feel, or think, or say. But if Roan asked a direct question, Daegonna would answer it.

*Ice smiled slowly*
Yes, I did force that on you. But... as you say, I coudl have been worse. I am grateful you too realise that. I have more than enjoyed your company, in the little time we have had.
*He said it like this strange honeymoon period was coming to an end*
I gleaned little from Vengeance, save that the errant Leuitenant has returned, the Elf is alive, but.... changed... and that there is another with her. When I pried to find out who this fourth remaining DeSeer was, expecting it to be Corbin, she shut me down like a light switch flicked off. Strange behaviour, save of course that I know Corbin is... gone.
*Sorrow showed in his own face for a second, and he again paused, though this time because HE needed to, not because he wanted to see how Dae reacted*
My beautiful work of art...

Daegonna wasn't sure how to respond. He was talking like they had shared a nice little holiday together, and he was sorry it was coming to an end. Did he expect Roan to take Daegonna with her? Was Daegonna still welcome in the DeSeer house? He continued. She didn't know what Elf Lieutenant he was talking about. She had never met Az, of course. She also didn't know who the 'other' with Roan was. Were they both family? Brothers? Daegonna's eyes widened. Could Dagoth be back? Hope flared in her again. Then Ice dropped another bit of the bombshell. Corbin was gone. Daegonna looked like she'd been struck. Gone? As in dead? Or somewhere else? Or had he been destroyed? Corbin had not been overly fond of Daegonna, nor she of him, but they were family, in the bizarre sense of the word. Daegonna was not sure what to make of any of this. Were all of her brothers gone? Was she the last of Roan's children, and not even a real one at that? She stared into space, consumed by her thoughts. Fear, confusion, hope, despair.

*Ice could feel her confusion and so he clarified, at least as much as he could*
Roan stands with Leuitenany Azrael DeSeer at her side, the Elf Yoachi is sick at best, and there is another with her. It is not Dagoth, I know his signature. This... person... feels familiar, and yet not. I woudl put a suggested name to him, but I know not if it is true, or what is going on save that he steadied Roan enough she survived until Azrael returned.
Corbin... my lovely Corbin.... is gone from this world. The World Eater Abaddon is no more, but Corbin takes his place, restrained by his own hand in his own home realm, the new Blood God and world eater both. He may never return to this realm for fear of what he may do to Seraphim, or fear of the duty his mother would have to take up should he lose control. She grieves for his loss, her Lord is gone.
My love is gone.
*He was staring into space himself, the weight of his own sadness adding to her confusion*

Daegonna simply nodded. Yoh was alive. That was good. Presumably Azrael being alive was good. She wasn't sure what to make of the rest of it. She was still somewhat shocked by it all. Ice's sorrow weighed on her as well, only adding to her confusion. She'd not actually thought him capable of grieving the loss of somebody, but if he were to miss anybody, it would be Corbin. Daegonna was beginning to understand that in his own sick way, Ice did love Corbin, and perhaps even the other DeSeer boys, though definitely none so much as the once-Lord DeSeer. Daegonna was at a loss. She didn't know how to respond, or if she should comfort him. After a few minutes' hesitation, she got up and circled the table, coming to stand at his side. She slid her arms around him, and hugged him. She wasn't really sure what else to do, but he had comforted her before, and she missed Corbin as well.

Dagoth DeSeer Vice Captain

"Hardly easy master, more of an experiment. I've already drained his hands."
Dagoth tossed the stumps to one side and smirked at his seat next to Bailey, he sat down leaning against the Syn's throne. There he would sit and wait till his master called on him once more to take another life. The last time he was in this position Dagoth had far more control but enjoyed it a lot less.
"Oh what tangled webs we weave."
Dagoth spoke to no one in particular whilst he watched the whole fang stare at him, none he was sure could believe he had simply won by just standing there. Many unable to comprehend what had just happened, a first of many shocks Dagoth was going to give.

*Ice reached up and rested his hands on Daegonna's, leaning one cheek to her warm flesh as he sighed and allowed his emotions to show for once. Maybe he was mourning Corbin's loss, maybe just mourning a beautiful artwork effectively destroyed. Who could tell?*
I believe Iden may be alive.
*He spoke the words quietly, tightening his hands over hers so she could not pull away*
------------------------------
((MEanwhile some time ago in the Fang!))
*Bailey smirked as the rest of the preliminary rounds concluded. An Assasmite, Samedi, Red Fury Setite and Ravnos all made it through over the next few nights until the seocnd rounds were officially mapped out on the boards over the pit. The unknown fighter woudl be against a Black Spiral Dancer, while Dagoth;s next official bout would be against an Assamite. It was not to be so simple however. Due to the increases in betting, demands and blood lusts of all at the Fang, two weeks of extra fights were scheduled in. Both Reinholdt and Bailey put their contestants forwards for these battles, which woudl be against ghouled beasts, such as lions and tigers, simulating a rather more violent parody of the Roman games centuries earlier. Scarily, some of the peopel watching would REMEMBER those.
Dagoth would find himself starved for these two weeks, no sustenance offered him, and only scorn waiting him if he deigned to take animal blood in its place. Bailey gave him only one order*
Impress me.

Daegonna allowed Ice to rest his cheek against her. She wasn't sure what he was mourning the loss of. She didn't ask. She didn't really want to know.
Then he spoke again. She tried to pull back, but his grip on her hands turned steely. Fear, guilt, grief, confusion, and relief flooded her. "What?" She couldn't think of anything smarter to say.
.:.ZOMG SUPER HAPPEH FLAIL FOR DAGGEH'S RETURN!.:.

I told you this other man felt familiar. I would put my money on the young idiot being alive. How, why, what... your guess is as good as mine.
*He tilted his head back, and looked up at her*
What will you do? Do you intend to leave my Princess?
*Power flared down his arms, into his hands, into her. The wolf rose out of the darkness between them and came to rub down the flanks of the tiger, scenting as it came, rasiing energy between them*

Daegonna was dumbfounded. She had killed Iden. Sure, Javos had helped, but Iden had been dead. Daegonna knew dead when she saw it. She stared down at Ice's upturned face, not at all sure what to make of this. He could be lying. He'd probably love building up her hopes just to tear them down. Wouldn't he? But why? What could he gain from that? His next question caught her even more off guard. "They're my family." She said, as if that answered everything. "If they will take me back, after what I've done, I do want to be with them." She said. She wasn't sure what he wanted to hear. She was having trouble thinking straight. She couldn't wrap her brain around the thought that Iden might be alive. What exactly did 'alive' mean? He could well be out to kill her. Maybe Roan and Iden were coming to collect her to exact their revenge. She shuddered. Ice wouldn't let them break her, he'd rather do that himself, right? I'm hiding behind <******** is not a comforting thought....

Good girl. Family is important. I want you to remember that, Daegonna. Family... is always important. It will matter. After you are gone.
*He suddenly let her go, rocked forwards and stood up, grabbing a set of furs to swing over his shoulders, making him look the prince he oft claimed to be*
Soon... it will be over. They come to take you home, and I am not going to stop them. I ask only that you humour me for what time there is left before I may not get to see you again. There is something I would show you.

Daegonna was very confused by all of this. He released her, and stood, towering over her, furs draped around his shoulders. The girl frowned a bit. He was speaking as if they wouldn't see each other again. Daegonna knew she should feel relieved at that thought, but right now she was just too surprised by all of the sudden changes, and had no idea what to make of any of this. Why the ominous sense of finality? Why the princely behaviour? She gave a tiny nod, not sure what else to do. She obediently followed along behind him, biting her lower lip the whole way.
