m by itself.
you gotta do it in REVERSE order though. what I mean by that is that you may know the steps as

That is of course the order in which to solve an equation
Now to get "m" by itself, you gotta do it backwords. here is the step by step on how to solve it.
1) 7.4
m + 36.4 = 9.5 (okay this is what you start with)
2) (okay, so we need to get the (+36.4) and the (*7.4) to the RIGHT side of the = sign.)
3) (going backwords, there is no subtraction, and there IS an addition. that is the (+36.4). so to get rid of it, I need to subtract 36.4. But what you do to one side, you gotta do to the other side.)
4) 7.4
m +36.4 = 9.5

__7.4
m+0=-26.9_____
5) (okay that takes care of one of the numbers. Now the next one is a (*7.4) the opposite of multiplication is division. So I divide 7.4 from BOTH sides)
6) 7.4
m=-26.9
7.4/7.4

m=-3.64
