"I can't write lyrics," Ruo said, finger running over the spines of the books on the shelf, before he pulled out one. Reading the back, he nodded. "Here we go..." He opened the book. "Whenever I try, they end up...odd."
He scanned over the first page of the book, then went to the next, before closing the book.

Mina looked up from the book. "What do you play?" She asked, putting the book beside her bag, and leaned against the bookcase opposite of the one Ruo was looking in. She took out a sketch book and her quill and started doodling randomly.

"Piano...Or rather, keyboard," Ruo said, still holding the book closed. "And...I vaugely play guitar, but in this day and age, who doesn't? I know a little bit of flute too. But it's mostly my keyboard." He looked down at his headphones, thinking a moment, before taking them off from around his neck. Why not?
"Want to hear a sample?"

Mina smiled softly "My dad used to play the flute." Her smile widened when he offered to let her listen. "Yeah! That'd be awesome. It's cool that you can record stuff. My songs sort of just. . . Lay around."

Ruo half-smiled and held the head phones out with one hand, the other taking the MP3 player out of his pocket. He skipped through songs, trying to find one that he though was actually good.
Finding one, he pressed pause, waiting to play it until she had the headphones on.

Mina took the headphones and put them cosily over her ears. Once he pressed play she listened intently, a smile playing across her lips. She bobbed her head slightly to the beat, and when it was over she looked up at him, taking the headphones off her head, handing them back to him. "I like it. You play really well."

"Thanks," he said, with a small smile. "It's one of my few finished works, without me tweaking it," Ruo said, taking the headphones back and placing them back around his neck. "I usually mess with the sound, but that one's just keyboard." He turned off the MP3 player, repocketing it. "Most of them are unfinished works..." He trailed off. "Sorry, I'm rambling again. Selfish of me."

Mina nodded "It's really good." She laughed lightly when he said the last two sentences. "Nah, not at all. Rambling's good sometimes."

"I suppose, but here I am, going on and on about myself and music, not really giving you a chance to talk..." He chuckled lightly, pocketing one hand, using the other hand to put the book back. "I remind myself of my sister, but at least I can tell when I'm talking..." He chuckled again.

Mina shrugged, smiling. "It's okay. I don't have much to say, anyways. I like listening to you." She kicked the cover of her sketch book closed, the page with a sketch of an outline at what seemed to be a bookcase disappearing.

Ruo looked over the shelf again, one hand still in his pocket. "I suppose I'm just used to talking to myself, so I tend to ramble." He pocketed his other hand. "Ah, excuses excuses..."

Mina scanned the shelf again, too. She stood on her toes to reach a book highest up on the shelf, just barely getting it down. It was exactly what she was looking for. She smiled to herself. "But it's better than saying nothing at all." She said to him after a second.

"Yeah, it's so true." She said, sitting on the floor. Mina flipped through a couple pages, her eyes scanned the text. "And one you explode, you have to clean it up." She laughed lightly, that didn't sound the way she meant it to sound.
