Cerdik was more than out of range of Kato's reach when the others arrived. Kato had spent the whole time trying to pry his leg free of the earthen death grip, even resorting to hacking at it with his sword, but to no avail. When the others arrived, he gave up his futile attempts for escape and watched them all cautiously, silently.
Standing slightly behind Adencia and to her right, Cerdik finally spoke in his timid tone of voice, "Th-that be Kato. H-he beclaims assss..." He took a deep breath, and started over. "He beclaims assassin st-status. The c-clerics endow him th-the r-r-rights of Cleansing. H-he, he slays riv-v-vals of the Ch-church." He took another breath and relaxed, worried that Kato would somehow escape the Earth's snare.

Tanyeera had spent the entire night neither truly awake nor asleep, but in a hazy zone somewhere between the two states, deeper than meditation but never really plumbing the depths of unconsciousness. She had roused at the first sounds of people waking and moving, but chosen to remain on her bed, staring blank-eyed at the ceiling for the nonce.
At the first pulse of the now-familiar Earth magic of Cerdik, the dull-eyed warrior had come abruptly to life. Before Cerdik had even started his mental summons, Tanyeera had dropped out of her own window as a faster alternative to the stairs, and come into the house again through one of the ground floor windows. By the time he had finished calling, Tanyeera was already standing in the kitchen, sword drawn as her eyes gazed coldly at the black-haired assassin. Had he not already been confined, battle would have already been joined, with his sword hand as her first target.
As it was though... "Drop the sword." She spoke without emotion, but the naked blade in her hand spoke all too clearly of the consequences should he refuse.

"State your purpose!" Adencia hissed, "You are niether guest nor resident here therefore you are tresspassing. State your purpose or I shoot."
An assasin. That definately wasn't good. In all the time she stayed in Kitorek she'd never heard of an assasin. And to think the assasin was employed by a family of the church for the church. If that wasn't corrupt then she didn't know what to call it.
Upon hearing that he was an assasin Adencia wanted to kill him right then, but she didn't. Cerdik knew him somehow. Why was this? She intended to find out.

Kato knew defeat when he saw it. He would not be getting out alive, and even if he did, he also knew he would be tortured for information. Such was the life and death of an assassin: by the blade. Whose blade was always the interesting factor. In this scenario, it would be the assassin's own blade that brought about his end.
Glancing at Cerdik with a devilish glint in his eyes, the two exchanged unspoken words.
"Nnnooo!" Cerdik cried out, and dashed toward Kato, an arm outstretched. Kato swiped his blade through the air, and Cerdik attempted to retract his arm. He received a wicked gash in his forearm for the lack of speed, and fell back, his momentum pulling legs out from beneath him. Before anyone else could react, Kato committed to hara-kiri before their very eyes. He drove the sword through the left half of his abdomen, and tore it out through the right; a perfect cut for disembowelment.
Finding Kato to no longer pose a threat, the earthen cast fell to dust, and the assassin fell onto his face, dropping the sword. Gurgles and guttural rasps continued to pass Kato's lips, but he spoke no words. This was his end...
Seeing Kato commit suicide was more than Cerdik could take. He turned away, but it was too late. He had seen Kato's precision in disembowelment, and the picture was burned into his retinas, even as he closed his lids. On his hands and knees, he sobbed. It was not merely the sight that troubled him, though. It was the multitudinous memories that were associated with Kato, good and bad, and the knowledge that the person within them had now taken his own life.
It was almost too much to take in. He slumped against the wall, nearly crushing Felicia. Only a split-second decision to leap from Cerdik's shoulder saved her.
He knew this was not very becoming... It was tough... But 'tis demanded I becalm myself. He took a deep, ragged breath, and wiped at his eyes with the back of his hand, smearing a little blood across his face as he went. It was then that the deep stinging sensation became noticeable, and he held his wound gently, a futile attempt to stifle the bleeding.
He did not look at his companions, but instead stared at the floor before him. They would ask him to talk, and talking was something he wished not to do, at least not now.
I once promised death's end, but befailed is that quest... He sighed, finally looking up at the many nearby. "I failed," he repeated, and another brief set of sobs shook his poor frame. "We m-m-must beg-gone from here. Th-th-the c-clerics shall s-soon beknowledged of this."

Tanyeera saw the assassin start to move, but was too slow to stop him killing himself. Inwardly cursing, she knew she ought to have just chopped his hand off in the first place and the sword with it, she dropped to see if there was any hope of healing the ghastly wound, yet even before her hand had even touched him, she knew it was hopeless. Quote: "We m-m-must beg-gone from here. Th-th-the c-clerics shall s-soon beknowledged of this." Tanyeera looked a moment at the shaking Cerdik, but her face was a blank mask. Without saying a word, she quietly departed to pack up what few things she had.

Isarelle gave a scream and turned around with her face in her hands. Regner and Kyna only stepped back in shocked silence. Adencia swore angrily and turned, letting her loaded arrow fly into a wall, embedding itself in the wood. She was tempted to see if the man was still alive but knew it was useless.
Hearing what Cerdik said next she cringed. On the run.
"Regner, Kyna, how ready are you to set sail?" she asked them quickly.
"Well w-we were p-planning on setting o-out w-ithin the n-next c-c-couple of days. We have a-almost everything loaded b-but a f-few provisions s-still need to b-be placed." Regner stammered.
"Good, that means we're almost ready to set sail." Adencia thought outloud, "We need to be able to get out of here as soon as possible. Don't ask questions, I trust Cerdik's judgement. Everyone go and begin loading whatever cargo that still needs to be put on the ship. I'll take care of Cerdick and join you soon. Go now."
Regner nodded and went quickly, Kyna followed behind trying to get Isarelle to calm down. Adencia looked to Cerdick and bent down next to him. She held out her hand for his arm.
"May I?"

Cerdik looked up at Adencia hesitantly. There was little sign of frustration, and none of anger. With another sniffle, he nodded, wiped his eyes with his good hand, and held his injury toward her. Of course, he could have taken care of it himself, but who knew how badly it would affect his mental state? It probably would have left him unconscious, sapping what little energy he had after that emotional and mental trauma. Far too many thoughts were swimming in the little fishing bowl of his mind like claustrophobic goldfish searching for an exit.
So he tried to distract himself, and gently stroked Felicia, calming her with both hand and mind. It also eased his worries somewhat, but not nearly enough to stop his trembling. Cerdik worried that he would not be able to stand. Why born was I with such frailty? WHY? The thoughts almost pushed him to tears again, but he repressed them. It would only make things more difficult, and more difficulty was the last thing any of them needed.

Adencia looked at Cerdik's arm and gently pulled away his torn shirt. It was bleeding pretty badly which would most likely drain the young mage if the wound wasn't taken care of soon.
"I'll be right back, I need to get some first aid supplies and some water." she said simply, then went to get what she needed. She came back with a pitcher of water and a bowl, several rags, and bandages.
Kneeling back down next to him, the elf submerged one of the rags in water than wrung it out halfway so the water still dripped from it. She moved towards Cerdik's arm with it and gave him a warning before delicately attempting to pat away the blood.
"This may sting a little." she said softly, "But you'll feel much better once you've been all fixed up."
Adencia understood that Cerdik had the ability to heal, he's healed her once before though the damage was minimal, but it was his chioce whether to use this or not. She wouldn't say anything and just help him untill he made a decision on what he wished to do.

Cerdik was silent except for the occasional sniffling while Adencia went about her work. In her absence, he considered healing himself, but knew it would be far too taxing on his mind, and most likely push him beyond the brink, and into a state of unconscious awareness; that is to say, he would be incapable of reacting, but would still receive all typical input from the physical world. Again, more difficulty was the last thing they all needed...
So he waited, focusing on Felicia to give him a distraction. He gave no response to Adencia's return, other than a weak nod when she warned him of the pain. The sting was hardly anything, though, in comparison to the injury itself, and he barely winced when she began her work. He watched in silence, still sniffling every so often, and glancing at Adencia even less so.

Adencia delicately wrapped Cerdik's arm then disposed of the bloody rags she'd used to clean the wound on his arm. She could plainly see that he was trying to avoid her in a way. She understood but wished he might say something. She wished that she could say something as well.
Looking back the elf could see the body of the man who'd just killed himself before all of them, his blood pooled in large ammounts on the floor. She'd have to take care of that and quick.
Adencia looked back to Cerdik and said softly, "Come on, you shouldn't be in here. I'll take you back to the room and you can rest there untill we head to the ship." She held out her hand to him but was ready to catch or carry him should he falter.

Cerdik lifted his arm to examine the bandage. It was expertly applied, and held his arm comfortably. Weakly he smiled up at Adencia and took her hand. He was dizzy and unsteady at first, but quickly regained his composure and walked slowly beside Adencia back to the room. He stopped just outside the door. "I wish not to be solitary." He spoke quietly and somewhat fearfully. After what he had seen and experienced, the last thing Cerdik wanted was to be left alone.

Adencia made sure Cerdik got back to the room okay and was about to leave and take care of the body in the kitchen when the mage requested that he not be alone. Giving him a nod she opened to door to the room and went to one of the beds, sitting down and motioning for him to sit next to her.
"We can stay for a little while." She warned him, "But soon we'll have to get you to the ship, and I need to take care of . . . what happend in the kitchen . . ."
She paused a bit and looked to the young mage, unsure if she should ask him anything about what had happened. She didn't want him to be bothered.
"Do you want to . . . talk about what happened? I would like to know, but you don't have to if you don't want to."

Cerdik sat beside her on the bed and folded his legs beneath him, looking glum. He nodded, knowing full well what needed to be done. He would go with her when the time came, but for now he needed peace, and he would relish every second.
"I... as pertaining to what, specifically? I, I be unmindful of the occurrence, but... I know not what you ask of." He looked up her, doing his best to hold her gaze.

Adencia shrugged a bit and kept her eyes on his. "Well . . . It seemed as if you knew that man. and might you know why he was here?"
The elf glanced outside and could see the sun rising. She began feeling a bit anxious about the body in the kitchen. She's have to get rid of it before the family that owned the assasinator began to wonder. She also needed to stage it to make it seem as it was, suicide, but in a different place and get back unnoticed. She could only imagine the family shouting something about needing an assasinator to assasinate the assassinator who assassinated their assassinator . . .

((assassinator isn't even a word, my dear dork... |P))
Cerdik nodded, looking down at the floor again. "I, I did... Kato. Now Blade of the Church of Groll. In years preceding those within Church sanctions, Kato was mine friend, and squire-in-training." He sighed, looking up at Adencia now. "I believe his presence upon the grounds was signaled by the church for the beheading of Regner and Kyna, under statements as such: the housing of illegitimate foreigners. Comfortably to say, that is, us: Becursed wretches. Foul, inhuman stains upon the goodness in all human heart. Gaiasten disasters."
He took another deep breath, and noticed as well, the rising of the sun. "Mayhaps more upon future peace, but until then I shan't speak more. Much business to be done."
