true.. but why???? damn her the sixth book was so short..

Only she knows why i think I might send a letter and find out.
well the fifth book was and will be the longest book according to facts when it was first released. Personally knowing that I knew the sixth book was going to be shorter than the previous book. Personally I don't think length should really be an issue to how long a book is. Why did she make it short? I don't know, but why should she make it long? To fill it up with useless chapters that bog down the plot and character development? I think the book is fine the way it is.

lolll i believed quanitity wasnt quality before reading the sixth book too. however, while I began to read it.. well, i knew it wouldnt take long to finish it.. but i was scared it would feel wanting. I mean, although she left it shorter [and i already knew that it would be shorter than the fifth,] although she left it shorter, it only felt as though she rushed it, not as though she cut the crap.

honestly, i think her fans know so much more detail about her books than she does and could write a seventh book, which would be so surprisingly close to her next version. the seventh book should be longer as it is the last book. don't tell me she's gonna rush that part too; what spoiler?>>kill harry too? .. She wouldn't fill it with useless chapters... because in the fifth book, every bit was interesting, or essential.. or funny... entertaining.. through and through...

i was just dissapointed because the fifth book took me awhile to finish and when i was done it felt as though i had a whole year of potter under my belt. the sixth book felt like half a year... esp. because there weren't any exams... and well, the sixth book was different.. it seemed as though jk was scratching every wall of her imagination to look for a plot and an interesting climax.... which was horrible. it seemed like she spoiler >>killed dumbledore as a last resort to fidning and end to the book.

i don't knoooowoowow lsdlsjdf any comments?

phear- interesting thoughts, but I found nothing wrong with the book. Well I thought the start of the book wasn't good, not the ending. I think there was detail and I don't think that it was rushed. I mean true she did skip the exams, but in the next book will Harry even being going back to Hogwarts? And if he doesn't then I think it would make sense it would be shorter (than the fifth), because there isn't all that school stuff going on. (Though I don't see how it's going to be Harry Potter without going to Hogwarts . . . I hope he goes on mypersonal opinion.) I think people expect too much out of JKRowling . . . that's just what I see. I think she's getting tired of writing Harry Potter, and I can see why. She's been working on it for what? Years? I'm sure there are times when she feels rushed to finish her books and thus it may, to some, feel her plot lines are also rushed.

I don't know. I've never really been one to compare things to another. I simply read things for what they are on their own. I don't sit there and constantly compare the sixth book to the fifth or any of the previous books, because doing that sometimes clouds your vision and you miss certain things and then I'll just be dissapointed and angry at the end of the sixth book because it didn't meet the expections I had set up from reading the previous book. Of course I didn't do that, and I don't know if anyone else in here did. I've just noticed from personal opinions people do that to things.

yes, like me. honestly, i'm probably judging her books harshly because all i remember is being sad, mad and confused at times... (i have a pretty defective memory)

yes... that's what i did. i know i come off harsh, but truly, i did expect more from jk, probably because i had been waiting for this book and anticipating all its glory after the fifth one. anyways, it isn't as though i hated the whole book, it was funny usually, it was interesting.. it was good. but in my opinion it could have been so much better.

what spoiler?>>kill harry too? .. She wouldn't fill it with useless chapters

spoilers/theory >> I'm not sure if JKR is even going to kill Harry. I heard a thoery on the matter based on the three stages of alchemy: black, white, then red. In Latin Sirius means black (died in 5), Albus means white (died in 6), and Rubius means red. I think Hagrid will be at least one of the ones to die in the 7th book. As for Harry, if he dies, all of the 10 yr old fangirls will cry, and Disney will be unable to continue the story with an animated series. It might be in JKR's best interest to keep him alive. XP<<

froggy that's an extremely interesting theory. spoiler thoughts>>
I sorta hope it's not Hagrid, because I really like him. He's....HAGRID! But the whole three stages of alchemy? It would make sense, but that might seem predictable to those who have heard of it or figured it out. So she may throw a twist in there to derail that theory, and make it more interesting.
