WAR - JULY 23rd, 2018
On the Go Home show before Summerslam, WAR opened with the commissioner and also the WAR Women's Champion, Stephanie McMahon coming to the ring to speak. She addressed Bragging Rights, where WAR picked up a 4-3 victory in the series by winning 4 matches to Throwdowns 3. She congratulated the victors of the first 3, but the series clincher was WAR winning the Elimination Tag match, that Abyss won by being the sole survivor by last eliminating Throwdown's Chris Jericho. Stephanie would call out the monster to personally congratulate him. Abyss came out, and was all ears for what his boss had to say to him. Stephanie would show her gratitude to Abyss for getting the tough job done, and rewarded him basically a spot in the World title picture, but he still had work to do and that was to beat Brock Lesnar at Summerslam. She would then address Paige for a short period of time, her Summerslam opponent, and booked her in a match against Carmella. As Stephanie began to address Abyss again, it was interrupted by PAUL HEYMAN. Paul would walk out and state that his client was not with him, but continued to bash Abyss and state what Brock would do to him in what was now a No Holds Barred match at the PPV, only for Abyss to respond... and bring out his weapon that hasnt been seen since he put Braun Strowman on the shelf with it, the 2 by 4 with nails in both sides, named JANICE, showing that Abyss was gonna bring her to Summerslam, leaving Paul worried for his client and sending a message to Brock Lesnar.
Up next was a match between Karl Anderson and a man who had a very good showing at Bragging Rights in the elimination tag main event, Roman Reigns. A surprisingly quick back and forth match ending in a surprise upset victory by Karl Anderson leaving Roman Reigns furious.
The next matchup was the number 1 contender for the WAR Women's championship, Paige against Carmella, where another shocker occured with Carmella scoring the victory, perhaps giving her an opportunity in the near future, obviously pleasing Stephanie McMahon as Carmella not only damaged Paige but killed her momentum heading into her match with Stephanie at Summerslam.
The main event was the match between Triple H and Samoa Joe that was set up by Triple H last week, with Joe having to win the match to get to face Austin Aries for the Television Championship at Summerslam. Joe and Triple H would slug it out, in a match that featured interference from TV Champ Aries to the benefit of Triple H of course, but when Samoa Joe got his signature Coquina Clutch submission applied on Triple H, Austin Aries broke it up to save his boss, resulting in Triple H being disqualified and Samoa Joe getting the victory that way, which means he will face Austin Aries at the PPV, but suffered a massive beatdown by the two so Samoa Joe may not be 100 percent come Summerslam which was their goal all along, as the show closed with Triple H and Austin Aries standing over top of a beat down and battered Samoa Joe.
