"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"It hadn't been long home since he had to step outside of the warehouse and open up his body to the powers of the demon; his eyes shimmered with power and his hands filled with bolts of energy. His lips curled down into a frown as the devils streamed down the streets...as if sensing the power that he was channeling and wanting to claim a piece of it for themselves. He wasn't about to allow it...they would have to tear his body to shreds to claim a piece of the power inside of him...and that wasn't in their abilities. Not then, not now. No, this was a trap that he had set for the devils to try and clear out more of the city. He floated faintly over the street and he waited until just enough of them were in the area to make it worthwhile...if they were going to make repeated trips to the Terminal they needed a clear path.
This was his answer.

Kaori Sakurazaka, the Wild Cherry Blossom of the Human Weapons Unit  What else could they do? Kakyo had been the one focusing on Trumpeter; they had the information on the demon and the Terminals. Their time was wasting away, and still they had nothing on the demon. Her fingers ran through her hair in an attempt to calm herself down as they waited for Benetnasch to leave the area, turning when she heard a noise behind them.
She nodded to Peri, sending the demon to investigate and finish whatever foe lurking around. When it returned after a moment, the violet haired girl knew they were safe... for now.

Kaori Sakurazaka, the Wild Cherry Blossom of the Human Weapons Unit The Septentrione had left the area, but that didn't mean the area was completely safe for them to remain in the same spot for a prolonged amount of time. They needed to keep moving, just as they had kept moving all their lives. A sigh escaped her... when would they be able to return to their little hideout in Yakushima? Forget about everything and live their lives peacefully? She knew it would be impossible in this decaying world. That was why... she would fight for this new world. They would be able to take control of their lives... no more depending on others... no one would manipulate or decide for them.
Her gaze turned to her companion. She would do it for him.

Kaori Sakurazaka, the Wild Cherry Blossom of the Human Weapons Unit Her phone rang, Kaori noticing the unidentified number. Still, she answered, hearing the voice of a woman on the other side of the line.
"Yes? Is this Kaori Sakurazaka? This is Hinako. Hey, listen.. I am sorry about what happened back in Inaba." Kaori kept silent, the memory still leaving a bad taste in her mouth. "Kakyo told me about you and your companion... and I know you, too, are fighting for what you think is right. So, keep fighting. And hopefully we'll meet again some day."
A small smile curled at the corner of her lips before saying her farewells, flipping the phone shut. She would keep fighting. All of them would.

Kaori Sakurazaka, the Wild Cherry Blossom of the Human Weapons Unit She hadn't seen the group of demons coming at them. They had come out of nowhere...but despite the slight advantage they had had by ambushing them, the demons had nothing on the two ex-Human Weapons.
She threw a kick at the face of an Orthus that had pounced on her, and immediately punched one other that had come at her from her right. She stepped back when a Nekomata came forward, her arm stopping the demon from clawing her eyes out. A hiss escaped her at the sting of the wound, but with a back hand slap, she threw the demon away. Her back bumped against her companion's...and with a nod, they finished the last of the demons that had come at them.
They needed to keep moving. They needed to find an end to this.

"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?""Guess you're not going to let me take you down without a fight, huh?" the Boss scoffed wryly as Benetnasch rounded the corner and the Vulture lead him on a chase down towards the Terminal just out of the range of its fatal attacks, ducking around the corner just as it passed by and curling back into an alley in sight of the Trumpeter summoning area but out of sight of the Septentrione. His breath was short after the dead run out of death's sights, but he was grateful to have eluded it once more. This was his city...he wasn't about to die here. And no alien invader from between worlds or whatever was going to set a trap he couldn't escape from so long as he was here in Oshu. No way...

"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"Ducking into an alley and coming back out the other side had only run him back into Benetnasch; an attack knocking bricks from the buildings and nearly burying him where he stood before he leaped up onto a fire-escape and clambered into a window, ducking out the door of the abandoned apartment and out the other side, sliding into another alley to try and get back to the clearing where the Summoning Terminal was waiting for him. It was like an extended game of Hide-and-Seek, and he couldn't stop getting found before the time expired. But he needed to stay hidden...he needed to find the way to defeat his pursuer. He knew exactly where it was...but he didn't have the key. And his search for the key had not yet turned up the result that he needed, either...so what now?

Shiva was watching his back and the sword-wielding demon cleared the area for him. It gave him time to work, to open his phone and punch in the keys, and to try and do something to appeal to the damned trumpet-playing devil...if he would even come out and listen to their appeal, that was. He didn't know what new he could do to try and change its mind, but it didn't matter if he was frustrated. It didn't matter if he had no new ideas. He had to keep trying. He had to keep testing different avenues. His own feelings, his own frustrations didn't matter when the fate of his city, his people, were on the line.

Kaori Sakurazaka, the Wild Cherry Blossom of the Human Weapons Unit The girl bandaged her arm with supplies she had found in an old, abandoned house. How it hadn't been looted before, she didn't know, but she was grateful for that. They could rest for a moment and patch up, before they were out again, looking for a way to defeat the Septentrione. She tightened the bandage around her arm and tied it up with her teeth, before turning to look at her surroundings.
Photographs and little decorations still stood on the desk, and she couldn't help the dark feeling on her chest. How quickly things could change... just a few days ago, this family was still on their home, living their lives. She wondered...where were they in that moment? Were they surviving? On one of the shelters? Or had they died?
Fingers brushed over the picture frame, tilting it face down.

"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"Trumpeter wasn't responding to his summons...that was the first bit of news that didn't really sit well with the Boss as he flipped his phone shut and glanced around the clearing to analyze what should probably come next in his grand master plan. Second, the attack of several demons from either side of the area forced him to send his two demons out to deal with them separately while he considered what would come next. Third, he realized that he really didn't know what he was going to do to appeal to the Trumpeter. Sure, he'd keep trying, but he needed some kind of a hook, didn't he? Idly, he hoped that Rina and the others had come up with something back at the warehouse that would work...he wasn't sure whether or not he could figure this one out on his own. But that's why they were a team, and they filled in the gaps in one another when one was lacking. He was clever, but this...this was beyond him.
All it would take was just one of them, however. Just one person's clever idea, one person's insight, and this whole thing could turn on its head. That was what he was waiting for...that was what he was counting on. "I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"The small attack of demons had quickly become a larger one...on either side Zaou-Gongen and Shiva were more than holding their own, but the sheer numbers were letting some past and that was forcing Kakyo to defend himself against the likes of Orthrus and Cerberus; avoiding the worst of the blows wasn't too difficult, but he was still taking slashes, cuts, and dealing damage in return was only vaguely possible given the discrepancy in speed. He could feel the danger closing in all around him...he could sense that if he didn't think of something that there wouldn't be a chance for him to enact his plan and save the people of Oshu. If he died, he couldn't protect it...protect the people...he felt the power flowing into him as he welcomed the devil inside of him, anything to keep from giving in against the enemies that had him cornered!
His eyes flashed, and power burst out in a circle around him reducing his enemies to ash. He would not give in...

"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"He hardly remembered the last fight...he had been bleeding and desperate and willing to accept any power if it helped him to overcome the threat of the devils nearly overrunning him...it didn't matter so long as he could still walk and the threat was gone. Kakyo let out a breath. His hand still tingled from the power but his insides felt like they were burning, perhaps having taken on too much power with the last possession for a normal body to handle. It hurt, but it wasn't enough to cripple him form continuing to move forward. He flipped his phone shut and stumbled once away from the kiosk. Another step...it was time to get back to the warehouse for the moment and see what the progress of the others looked like.
"I'm tired..." he coughed and cracked his neck, forcing his legs to work properly once again and calling his devils back to his side to escort him home, "Got to keep moving, though. Nowhere near finished. She was breathing heavily...but stood back up. Never give up. And it was then that power flowed through her, the demon taking control of her body giving her the necessary strength to win!
Her eyes glowed, and she pushed herself forward.

His lips curled into a smile as he slowly walked back towards the door, letting Zaou-Gongen handle the demons that were closing in on them. They weren't strong and it wasn't much of a fight, but he was finding it increasingly difficult to keep his energy up for the encounters. He would not let his spirits flag, however. Whatever his body was lacking in pure energy he would replace with his will to win, his desire to protect, and the pure stubborn fact that he would never stop fighting as long as this battle was ongoing. Benetnasch would not get the better of him, no more than he would let Jian Lin Kuei get the better of him...he might lose a fight, but never the war. And his spirit would never break...his vengeance would one day be his or he would die trying to achieve it. And he was not planning on dying today...
