Roland shifted his hand ready to summon Sylvia again, but he didn't do it just yet. "So the question is what's our move from here? I can either go to the base camp, remain here, or go back out." He looked to the three he came in with, "You think we'll have them back in shape soon?"

Barry: 56/200Cami was horribly distracted. It hadn't been as long for her as it had for Maebe; she wasn't in the middle of some ridiculous abstinence quest. Yet it had been a long, long time since she'd had Maebe and Maebe was what she truly wanted, more than anything. Power rippled beneath her hands and, had she hit, might have all but ended the fight. As it were each and every ethereal arrow went wide and far from its mark. Kidana's voice was loud and indignant inside her Hunter's head. Lecturing, yelling, saying that she had to pay attention or they were going to die. She could worry about her libido and her pathetic broken heart later. Sodden wet, clothing molded against her body and curls dripping, Cami looked as miserable as her aim. Well, this was fun! And the sprinkler system kicking in combined with the newest PA announcement was just the icing on the zombie cake, in Thomas's opinion. Purple spikes were soon dampened down flat against his scalp, and he reached up with gore strewn hands to push it back, effectively streaking his forehead and hair both with streaks of red and something near black, which began to course down his face in rivulets as the water continued to spray down on them from above. Waiting for the other two to do there thing, he moved close enough to give the infected a low, sweeping kick to it's ankle, which was apparently enough to send it crumpling down to one knee. "I think it might be weakening." He said, moving back again. HP: 12 Damage: 1 Charge: 3/3 Quote: Normal Zombie:

Rep's positive thinking seemed to catch up with him and he went from distant and grim to smiling brightly. "Oh I'm sure they will all be up and about soon enough! Got to be positive about these things. As for what you doooo, wellll that is up to you, not a lot going on here, just retrieving and freeing civilians which isn't normally too dangerous." He seemed amused again. "Though some people won't part with their little rescued little ones, which just won't do."
He shrugged his shoulders. "It isn't a decision I can make for you all. Staying here might well end up more dangerous than anywhere else. And it might not."

Sasha sank Nona's hooks into the infected's head once more, separating the staff again to form two melee weapons connected by a chain. She leapt from the creature's head, using Nona like one would use a grappling hook of sorts; once she was on her feet, she gave the weapon a jerk - the action sent the other half of her weapon singing through the air, and she caught it an instant before the armored beast lashed out at her. Nona was ready to release her charge; Sasha took pleasure in denying the weapon, only for a moment longer. Otto's acrobatics were given a pleased laugh, a wide smile, and the scratch of her nails along the back of his neck after he'd landed. "Just ignore him, Otto," she whispered softly. "Let's finish this and head back to base." Barry: 56/200It took a while to push past her own frustrations, but when she managed it for a split second, she saw something hurting in Cami's eyes that she could only guess at. She pulled Thaw out of the monster with a disgusting squelch, and watched the arrows fly in all directions, consistently missing their mark. This was her fault. She took the few steps over to Cami, and wrapped her in a meek, regretful hug. Behind her, Thaw glowed, sending licks of phantom fire against Cami's skin until the cuts and bruises healed and faded away. "We can do this." She muttered, her voice a melody of sadness. "Even if we're just one big dumb distraction for each other." Barry: 50/200Fire-hot warmth washed over Camille despite the tepid, stale water that was raining down around them. A long sigh slipped from between her lips as she leaned her head against Maebe's temple for just a moment. A single moment wasn't going to ruin what Maebe was trying to do, right? Cami needed her right now, not the other way around, so it was okay. Taking a single step forward, breaking Maebe's hold on her first, she aimed again. A pathetic shot but still better than nothing at all. Then she stepped back and, wrapping arms around her former girlfriend, squeezed just once. That squeeze might have been just a little too tight but there was a dragon's horde of things she wanted to do and say. This would have to be enough. "You should go climb back on top of it. You and Thaw show it who's boss. I'll try to keep its hands from going up your skirt." Normal Cami, save for the sadness lurking around her eyes, the lack of total enthusiasm. Damp fingers lingered for a moment against damp skin, the pressure saying almost everything she was not allowed to. Al was scooting nearer and nearer to the door when he suddenly realized that stain on the wall was by itself. He however wasn't so lucky. He swung Nuru wildly, barely clipping the creature as it came in to attack again.

"Tch. Fine." He replied indignantly, finding the feel of nails down his neck to be more relaxing than it should have been. with a roll for his shoulders, he left her side once more. He ran at the infected and swung at it. It swung back, but Otto beat the arm away with the end of his weapon. It was a game of back and forth until Otto leapt back and away from the beast. Barry:42/200The arrow sung through the air and hit the target, which meant Maebe had done a good thing. She squeaked out a laugh when Cami hugged her, and flushed several different shades of red across her cheeks. "OKAY." She didn't mean to say it that loudly, but she was excited to do exactly what Cami told her to. They'd managed to hug and not tear each others clothes off - or burn each others heart with the pain of touch - and this meant really good things, in her book. It meant progress. So she leapt forward as soon as Cami let her go, and used Thaw to polevault back up onto the monster's head, the way she'd only just recently gotten used to doing. There, she tore it a new one. And it made her proud. Denying Nona her charge for as long as she had had probably been a cruel thing to do to her weapon, but it was a beautiful release once Sasha attacked. Sparking violet rage, Nona's blades crackling with visceral energy, Sasha lashed out with her weapon. Nona shrieked through the air, and suddenly there was nothing where once there had been something. The infected nearly exploded as the force of Sasha's blow cracked the armored chitin protected the softer, fleshier underbelly of the beast. Panting softly, Sasha returned to Otto's side - she leaned in and bit his lip before pulling away with a satisfied sound. "That's how it's done, darling. Just like that." Barry: 18/200A step! A real step which was more than Cami had ever expected or known was possible. She'd thought, very nearly thought, that all was a lost cause. Maebe had blushed which was a precious reaction that she would tuck away into the back of her mind for lonely moments in the house she had been loaned. Suddenly it didn't matter that she was wet, that she was tired, that her back ached, and that she wanted to go home. Suddenly she was powerful and there was hope for the future. Enough that she drove a succession of two or three arrows into the creature's most sensitive point. "Nearly there, Maebe baby!!" Isaac gave Nellie a worried look before glancing over at the centipede-looking thing that was currently looming ominously over their home-base. "Yes," he affirmed, "we should attack; but only if Nellie is feeling ready enough to do so. Perhaps we could seek out healing prior to attacking - or attack for only a moment before requesting healing." He chewed on his lip for a moment. "What does Nellie think?"

Barry:14/200She felt like getting on top of the monster while Cami was hailing it with arrows was, perhaps, not the best idea she'd ever had. She felt them whizzing by and let out a string of oh s**ts and oh nos and <********> as she hacked away, barely doing any damage as she focused on not getting hit. She should have trusted the arrows trajectories better, but there were so many. It was an embarrassing sight. Otto watched as Sasha popped the armoured beast as if it were a paper mache balloon. He could still fee the energy in the air even as the water from the sprinklers dampened everything else, even as traces of the creature vanished. He watched Sasha walk back over cool as a cucumber, and only flinched a little as she playfully bit at his lip. He couldn't even take offence. She'd certainly done much better than he had. Tenya boastfully insisted they'd have done just as good a job had she gotten to use a charge; the pride in the former drop bear puffing within his mind. "I'll try n' remember to take notes next time." He chided after a short moment. He turned his head away, haughty and belligerent. "You said you wanted to check the base right?" In revenge, he pinched her bum before starting down the hall.
