One of the pidgey managed to tear a cut along his arm with one of those sharp beaks!

Oki tried to bodily throw himself into the Pidgeys to push them out of the way, but there were too many to get any momentum going. And with the birds blocking his vision, he was a bit afraid he might hit Anise instead.

With no way to see clearly, Anise considered getting on her knees and crawling, figuring it might be easier to move that way. But she decided against it, since if Oki got them to scatter again she wanted to be able to move quickly.

And a moment later Oki managed to do just that. In a small break in the assault, he got a deep enough breath for a proper Roar. The birds scattered in a flurry of wings and Anise saw they were closer to the balloons than she thought. She dashed over to the nearest one and clambered into it, then turned to look at Oki.
"I don't think there's enough room in here for you. You better return for now, I'll let you out as soon as I can," she told him, and held out his pokemon. The Zoroark sighed but assented, and was swiftly recalled to his pokeball. Then Anise crouched below the rim of the basket and held on to anything she could.

the pidgey's would not let up, and just kept coming from out of nowhere.

in an attempt to avoid one pidgey, another came from behind and nipped at Sabre's bandanna, almost pulling it right off if his hand hadn't raised to press it to his head.
