 "Perhaps. I hadn't thought of that." and kept holding Momo's hand as they walked, looking around at the toweing structures. With a blink his vision changed, looking and scanning. "No. There's none around here." he said, looking behind them before blinking again. "We're safe."

 Momo nodded, letting out a small breath of relief as he moved a little away from Hal, "Good. thank god you can see heat, i think i'd go insane if i had no idea if there were people around or not." they were getting near where the apartment building was and he moved a bit closer. "hal? would-it be ok if i stayed outside? i don't think-i don't think i can go inside." he wouldn't be able to look at those rooms without remembering.

Hal looked at the other. "I'd, I'd feel more comfortable if I could see you, or if I could hear you. I don't want to leave you out here alone." he admitted. "Perhaps you could wait in the stairway? Where your voice echoes? I could hear you better that way. I could know you're still talking and there and alive."

Momo lowered his eyes, understanding why Hal would want him in sight. "n-no, i'll go," he finally said softly, stopping at the door of the apartment building. "i just-" he breathed slowly and walked in, "i'll be ok. just-stay with me ok? don't-don't let go of my hand."

Hal smiled and nodded, "I'll stay with you. I won't let go." he squeezed Momo's hand before walking up the steps, listening to them echo, eyes looking around constantly in case anything happened, and the android knew nothing would happen, but he wanted his human to feel better. "Here we are." he looked at the torn down door, looking inside as well, scanning for heat. "it's clear. Ready to grab our things?"

Momo held onto Hal, knowing he was being stupid. if there was someone there, Hal wouldn't have let them go inside. they passed by the room he'd been taken to, he saw it out of the corner of his eye and nearly threw up. oh gods- his vision blurred slightly, but his grip on Hal kept him upright. "ok-" he breathed deeply, "ok, let's get our things." he let go of Hal's hand, but almost instantly fell , his knees shaking, "they are over here, right?" he asked, grabbing Hal's hand again and walking to the wall where they hid it.

"We can do this, don't worr--" Momo let go and nearly fell, Hal moving quickly to catch him. "Yes, they are. Stay with me, Monoki." and moved around the apartment, grabbing their things and putting them in the backpacks where they belonged, never letting go. It was quick work, Hal soon exiting the apartment again and looking at the redhead. "You okay?"

They walked out and past the apartment again, but Momo couldn't handle it. his stomach overturned and he had to bend over as his body tried to force out everything inside. thankfully he hadn't eaten today and had barely drank anything. "sorry," he gasped, tears slipping from his cheeks. "i'm sorry, just-get me out of here. please!"

Hal waited, letting go of Momo's hand to quickly hold his hair back and away from this front. "It's okay. It's okay." and let him vomit, though it seemed more like dry heaves than anything. His stomach was relatively empty so it really was the heaving that would wear him out. "I've got you." he lifted him up like a mother carries a baby, the head over the shoulder, though this was in case Momo continued to throw up. Large, quick steps were taken, the android moving them back out into the fresh air, and kept moving to get them away from the building.

Momo closed his eyes and hung onto Hal's shirt, struggling to not throw up again. he could feel the moment they left the building and his stomach eased, if not his trembling. it took several minutes before he was able to calm down enough to speak. "i-i'm ok," he said softly, swallowing hard. "i'm ok, you can put me down now. thank you."

"Are you sure?" he asked, continuing to walk, "I rather like this, it's like a constant hug." and smiled, giving him a very, very gentle squeeze before stopping and putting the human back on his feet. "But there you go."

Momo smiled, a small one, but it was still a smile and hugged Hal back, "you are right. maybe you can carry me like that again if i get tired." he was glad to be on his own feet, even if he felt dizzy for a moment when he was put down. "god-i thought i could handle it." he shook his head and sighed, "glad i didn't eat breakfast. it would have been wasted." he straightened his back and glanced around before choosing a direction and walking in it. "this should be the way," he muttered, not really sure what way it was suppose to be, but it felt right to be walking in that direction and that was all that mattered.

Momo nodded, "just like old times. i wonder how much stamina i've lost in our soft lifestyle the past couple of weeks?" he was sure he would be able to walk as much as before, if by no other means than stubborn will, but he also knew he should take it easy since he had only just finished recovering. one thing was certain, he wanted as far away from the city as he could get before they stopped for the day. if possible, he wanted it out of sight, but he knew that was probably not going to happen. "how far do you think we'll make it before we need to call it a night?"

Hal looked around at the buildings surrounding them, glancing at a car. "It might take a few days, they are very tall and we can only walk so fast." he admitted, "So perhaps by a week they should be out of sight. I can't promise anything though. We are weak." Hal's own cut hadn't really been healed, being that they didn't have the proper materials to fix it. So wearing layers of clothes hid it. "We'll walk until I read that you're wearing out. Then we'll take a break. If you can move properly afterwards we'll walk and do the same thing again."
