"Maybe I should rename myself," Stern suggested, rolling over onto his back. Looks like he didn't need a reply to just keep on talking. "He who lives on ground? No, hmm..."
"Floor dweller. Dirtface. Hmm. What do you think? No, I know! STERNCAVE-- wait, that's already my name," he just looked sad. He sad up, at least.
Did he ever stop talking?
"Maybe the fragments will even feel sorry for me," he joked, before one floated lazily by his head. "Oh, uh, don't mind if I do," he said, and then gently plucked it out of the air, adding it to his stash.
He smiled. This was just making it worse.
Smells like peppermint he heard, and almost gagged. But he wasn't sure why.

[Entering] In her quest to fill a void she didn't understand or even fully realize was there, Rhryse found herself at a new place. More grey, always gray. But less red. Here, she saw blue. Blue hearts, blue...water?
This place was vastly different from where she had been. Rhryse didn't know how she felt about that.
She had no qualms about poking around though. If she could find something in this place, she would be pleased.

"See?" Stern said, "That's how you do it!"
The pup would be unsufferable now. And by pup, of course, one means young grey creature.
"Did you want some pointers?" Stern asked, mostly to be obnoxious.
Except then, without even getting to his feet, he lunged fully at the guy's feet, aiming for a fragment that was darting between his legs. "GOTCHA!" he exclaimed, adding it to the ones he'd already gotten.
Try to keep up! he heard, and his ears felt like they needed to twitch. "I'll be right there!" he replied, and then didn't know why. He also didn't know why that made him sad.
"I think the floor's about used up," he said, as if trying to cover up his awkwardness.

Alt was frozen stiff as the hyperactive stranger held him still, uncertain of what this was about.
"What are you-" As Sterncave struck out Altairas understood. "Ah, I see. Well..." He inhaled as if to expand his chest and himself off. "I think I was a great help with that success and I deserve compensation." Altairas looked at his strange companion expectantly, only to realize he wasn't even paying attention.
Altairas was about to respond to Stern's questions, but all he could manage was a nod before the spastic fellow sprung after another fragment, catching one, and then landing face-first in the dirt... Talking all the while. Altairas was amused at the sight, but it was frustrating to see him collect so many shards while Alt still only had one.
"Pointers? From a fool who just landed his face in the dirt and nearly cried about it?" He crossed his arms but it didn't take long before he reconsidered the offer with a smug grin. "Sure, tell me everything you know.

Lyebner was restless. Each fragment he touched made him more so, but he couldn't seem to stop himself from making the attempt whenever one floated past...
He saw yet another glowing grey wisp of knowledge and chased it down, moving more smoothly on his cracked, colorless legs.
...the very nature of FEAR...
While this one's message meant even less to him than any of the others and faded just as quickly, it left him positively twitchy with curiosity. This wonderful place, with its waterfalls and crumbling rock, was so small. He looked down at the orbs carefully cradled in his arms. Maybe his Goddess would like them.

Narrowing his eyes, and crossing his arms over his chest the second he stood to his feet, Sterncave replied: "Nearly is not the same thing as did!"
"But if you want tips, then sure! You gotta stop being so, uh... stiff! Yeah, like this!" Stern said, grabbing at the guy's hands and trying to wiggle his arms like they were made of jelly. His bad mood seemed to be gone in a flash.
Which made him miss a fragment directly above his head. He was earnestly trying to teach this guy his moves.

Sterncave did a fancy dance slide away from the guy, and tried to snag a fragment while doing so. It also involved some fun hand-waving motions or something.

Sterncave was snapping his fingers.

Really obnoxiously, as if that would summon up a memory of what the guy's name was. He rocked back and forth on his heels. Hey, was that a fragment he saw, drifting behind the guy? "Lucrative!" he yelled, before lunging.

"Bogus."
The kid looked like someone'd just shot his favourite cartoon animal or something, if he knew what any of those things were. He didn't, and wasn't thinking about that at all. He was looking at the stranger with big eyes, as if to say fix it! It makes me sad.
He held out his hand, as if summoning a fragment to it. And it worked, for some reason. All he had to do was close his fingers around it.
"Bingo!" he said, then "Lemme go get my loot, and I'll be right back! DON'T GO ANYWHERE, okay??"
Sterncave took a few steps away, without breaking eye contact. "I'll be. Right. Back."
He turned, looked over his shoulder, and then started to run away. "I mean it! You'd better still be here!"

Upon returning from the shrine, Kaje sighed, looking at his hands. That fragment, why did it make him feel this way? He still couldn't remember anything, and yet...
From the corner of his eye, he saw a faint red glow moving, and had thought nothing of it. There were some red- wait. Moving? Lifting his head, he noticed that one of the figures, rather than possessing the same blue core as everyone else, their's was... red. But why?
Curiosity got the better of him, and he approached the figure, frowning at them. "Who are you?"
