I just have to say that I believe that they may indeed love each other, yes. I'll give you that much. But there are multiple types of love! They don't necessarily have to love eachother like that; in a story I read, I got this idea-
Fai was locked up by the king for a part of his life, as we all now know. He never really had any friends or social interaction. He'd never been able to talk to people or gain a bond. So maybe his definition of love is someone he cares for in a way that he will protect them.
Get this: think of your best girl/guy friend. How many of you wouldn't jump in front of a bullet for them? (You know what? Don't answer that. Many think they wouldn't but would...) That's what Kurogane's and Fai's relationship seem to be more to me than anything else. They both never really had friends when they were younger and now that they've earned that title, they want to keep it that way.
And I know- Kurogane pleadged to be Fai's E. That's to keep the bond they have alive. He doesn't want to lose contact with the first person who really was nice or fun with him.
Besides, I still say that Kurogane and Tomoyo are cute (in this manga, I'm not talking some other CLAMP manga or something- they may not be a pairing there, but the could be here) and Fai is alone (since he made Chii and I think that'd be just wierd... ^_^; ).
Maybe I'm insane or wrong; we won't know until it's finally unvieled at the end of the seiries...

I dont in particularly like the idea of them being gay not that i have anything against that sort of thing but i have some kind of a respect in a fatherly figure sort of way to kurogane and i just cant see him that way. Hes rough but he gets his point across teaching us lifes lessons and ofcourse, how to fight. And underneath all that roughness there is a loving and caring person.

And underneath all that roughness there is a loving and caring person. well.. clamp is going out of their way to make this debate for people, let's just say that. and given clamp's history with bl relationships.. and lovehate relationships in general... i can likely say that while their large fanbase is not a misunderstanding in the slightest, they might not have a happy ending ... (with eachother, i mean) .. . although , i don't understand the whole 'hate' aspect of it anymore.. kurogane has shown on many occasions that he really cares for fay. so i doubt it's too much hate anymore, regardless of how he acts... and if one notices, he's somewhat like that to everyone. and yes, it could be argued that the caring is in a fatherly way, but then we have to remeber who wrote it. clamp wrote yaoi dojinshi in their earlier days.. if that says absolutely anything. .. or maybe im just far too much of a fangirl to see anything else. whee

I'm curious, however, as to why you are 'totally against ALL gay anime/manga couples'? I just didn't really get the supporting argument. o-o Sorry.
I have to say, though... whoever created this topic must not have minded the idea of angry debating. x] It's going to go that way, sometime soon, I guess, unless people here are civilized like I somewhat hope. :0

(one of my reasons for liking said pairing is that I just find the idea of huge grown up Kurogane with little princess Tomoyo(I have no idea how old she actually is in Tsubasa, but she looks really young) really repulsive.
