Oh yush!
That's why seeing profiles with like, four sentences for the personality, and short bios, drive me nuts in general. xD Even though I'm guilty of it as well, I try to improve myself.

when I start, I usually have nothing then suddenly it is like opening a flood gate! If that doesn't happen, I scrap the character... because I know if I can't get enough for a profile, there is no way I can make them into a real, fleshed out character!
I usually don't bother with people who have short profiles because I immediately assume that will be the very problem :/
not always, but usually.
I like reading a lot anyway. ಠ‿ಠ

Sounds good. I can post first, then. Gimme a... day or so. And my sig is a panel from a webcomic called Peak. It's about a mountain rescue squad. It's fairly interesting story-wise (and very different than the stuff I usually read) but what's more amazing is the quality of the art. More and more I'll see comics copy/pasting or get lazy in some panels but this comic is so well drawn in each panel it's dumbfounding. Plus, when the moment calls for it, the artist draws the best funny faces/poses; hence, the panel in my sig.

I have difficulty explaining things. I like to give examples. But examples usually aren't appropriate to put in my profiles so I always end up with short, vague personality sections. So to some people, that seems like the characters aren't fleshed out... hmmm...

Well, I don't ever do profiles at all except for this sort of thing. I hate doing them and prefer not to. I prefer creating them as we go along within a roleplay and allowing them to develop into a person. I simply mean for myself, when making roleplays, that you can only write so much because you've hit a block and don't know where to go with it after that point. But when those flood gates open, it all just starts falling into place. Saving something for later and writing only what you can are two totally different things... ^^
So, basically, can't figure out what to write for a character and not just having an inability to write it. I put a sort of example in my profile for Abdiel under his personality, giving a situation to better explain what I mean by what I said. In my own personal experience, when I cannot fully fill out a profile, it is because I just can't. I don't have the information to put in there and don't feel my character... because I am a very wordy person. I over explain things, as you can tell... -_- When I get into the mood it all fits into place and fills out. Otherwise, I'm just staring blankly at the screen and procrastinate...
