Rasiel's voice reverberated in his head as the fox stood hurriedly. Cars have steel in them, remember? Y'know, steel that contains iron! he said. Alexander winced slightly, looking down at him. He was right, though it was only on the metal parts. It's fine. I'll...wear gloves and be careful. he said, picking Rasiel up. And besides, if something does happen I'll say it is...an allergic reaction. That's not completely a lie... he said. An allergic reaction that causes your skin to burn and poisons your blood if it gets inside you? Rasiel replied, staring up at Alexander. It's steel, not pure iron. The reaction won't be as severe. And anyway, I don't plan on eating the thing. Alexander replied before realizing he'd lapsed into a somewhat strange silence with Danny. "I think it's time we put out the various helpful flowers now." He said with a smile to break the silence. "They've finally all bloomed."╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Alexander nodded as he put Rasiel on his shoulder so the young fox could lay around his neck. "The ones used to combat the various illnesses people tend to get around this time of year. Most of them are made into teas and the like." He said, going to the back and bringing out a rather large box, something that looked as though he shouldn't be able to carry. He sat it down on the counter and opened it to reveal many little plants with only one or two blooms on them in little starter trays. "They'll do much better in here where they don't have to compete as much for the light." Alexander said as he began to gently lift the trays out and line them up on the counter and floor.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

After a short time, she looked up at him. "You really are old fashioned, aren't you?" she said, more to herself than to him. "Never owned a car, huh?" she asked, her hands now on her hips.━━━━━━━━ × ━ × ━ × ━━━━━━━━ Who am I with ? -- Alexander

"And besides, I've never really seen the need for a car. As I see it, I can get everywhere I need to go on my own. And there's the environmental implications of course." "And from what I hear, drive-ins are quite a summer tradition, so I suppose it's about time I experienced it, despite myself." He said, lifting the final tray out of the box. He began taking the individual starter pots out of the trays and stacking the trays back in the box then, something that went a good bit quicker. He looked at the little flowers. "These are all used for the same general ailments with a few diversities here and there, I suppose they should be displayed by color. It's more eye-catching." ╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Alexander smiled. "I'm glad the idea is appealing to you." He said, looking to the clock as well. "Shall we get started then?" He said, picking up some pots.

Alexander was sitting on the porch connected to the shop. He'd dressed simply in a white shirt with a chocolate brown vest and lighter brown pants. He'd decided to forgo any kind of hat, leaving his hair tied back loosely, but had added a pair of thin leather gloves that seemed to dress the outfit up more than intended. Rasiel had already slipped off for the night, but a stark white crow stood out in the dimming light, perched upon Alexander's banister, seeming to listen as Alexander struck out a melody on a small carved dulcimer sitting in his lap. Evanna had sent him when Alexander contacted her to inquire about drive-ins and she eventually worked out what was going on, based on the nature and number of questions, and that he was nervous. After a moment the bird shook his head. Imagine one such as yourself nervous over attracting a human girl! he said, his tone amused. Alexander sighed. "This isn't the same as back then, it's not even close. Back then when I was trying to coax a human all I had to do was use a glamour. This is not for idle sport or sustenance." He said, changing the pace of how he struck the strings. So you haven't used a glamour on her then? Not even once? Skah asked, hopping closer. Alexander shook his head. "It is not her lust I am trying to win." He said before pausing for a moment. "Well...that is far from the...it is not the main goal." Alexander said, flushing the tiniest bit as he tried to explain properly. He shook his head then. "I want to be able to give her my love once more and have it returned. I do not wish to ensorcel her." He said, before going back to his playing as he heard Skahs laughter in his head. "You know what I mean." He muttered embarrassedly. Ah, so you've used no magick on her, yet she is enamored by you, despite her mate. Humans are weird. Skah said, still obviously amused as he ruffled his feathers lightly. "I would not expect you to understand, you've never had a mate of your own and only understand the rituals of your underlings." Alexander said before scowling. "And that imbicilic boy does not deserve to have ever had her." He said somewhat haughtily as he looked up to watch the sun sink ever lower, casting an orange light on the world.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

Her sandals flopped against the floor as she headed for the front door, calling out to her parents that she'd be out late tonight. A single call of 'Keep your phone on you!' was all she heard before she walked out to her car, her tank top flapping in the chilly breeze. The sun was sinking in the sky, and she knew she was running low on time, but she should be able to make it if she left right away. As she hopped into her dad's smaller truck, she pulled the keys from her bag and started the car, only to feel her phone vibrate in her back pocket. She jumped for a second before pulling it out, reading the message on the screen.
From: Louis
Message: hey, what are u doing tonight? wanna go out?
She looked up at the sunset with a sigh, typing out a quick answer.
From: Danny
Message: Look, Louis. I'm pretty sure I've made my message extremely clear. We need to take a break and see other people. I've told you this too many times... anyways, I can't go out tonight. I've got a date.
She slid her phone back into her bag as she sent her text, glad that was out of the way. She geared the car into reverse and headed down her driveway, turning out onto the street before gearing it into drive and heading towards the shop.
When she arrived, she pulled into one of the few small parking spaces and quickly turned the car off, hoping out onto the gravel. She looked to the shop before spotting Alexander on the porch and walking over. "You look nice," she said as she greeted him. ━━━━━━━━ × ━ × ━ × ━━━━━━━━ Who am I with ? -- Alexander
