A Wandering Esper

Beloved Stargazer

God damn his nuts hurts.

The first thing the newly born senshi of twilight had learned after his sudden return to the living - pages were vicious little ******** his body felt strangely heavy for one who had been lacking one for so long - fingers flexing as if he was trying to assure himself that yes, he now owned fingers again.

He'd sat on a pile of debris when the barrier had gone up, hoping to rest a bit, and trying to wrap his brain around what the hell was going on.

It wasn't working too well, obviously.

Then the barrier went down again, and Joshua's eyes narrowed.

Time to find that brown-haired b***h and claw out her ovaries. Or something.

Naica, with all his luck, had been caught by the barrier when it went up - knocked away and then out.

The page of Cosmos was only now coming to - groaning as he lifted himself off the ground, wishing this had all been a dream, that he'd be waking up in his bed instead.

No such luck, obviously, but...

Where was everyone ?

Oh, ********>

Kestrel had listened to what Leto said and took it in, luckily while there was still time to.

"Leto, got it." She wasn't sure what she meant about cats and then Howlite (what kind of name was that?) came up and confused her even more. Howlite wasn't in the same kind of clothes as they were and so she wondered if she were one of the negaverse Leto had mentioned. There was another girl who walked up to them, another senshi? Oh this was so confusing!

Then the floor shook and the golden dome was breaking.

"Guessing this is the bit where we don't die right?" Kestrel was so confused and again a cat was mentioned. How odd. On the plus side she knew she was right now, Leto had confirmed it. Those senshi had brought them here to die, they were in the wrong. Kestrel had known it all along!

"You got it," Howlite's grin disappeared, as the barrier died and sent a ripple through the consciousness of all. It was as effective as a war horn, calling them to battle and their duty.

The blonde made an almost automatic choice to stick by the senshi, and readied herself. Her own serious words went out to the Dark Mirror Senshi around her. "Do not hesitate, or doubt, when you have the opportunity to take them out. They will strike you down with as little thought as they destroyed your comrades to create their barrier."

It was a reminder, that Ares and Chaos had saved them from being nothing more than gold dust. The senshi protected their own, first, and those were not the people of Earth.

It was a good thing that Leo was standing beside Chronos when the barrier went down. The knights hadn't assembled yet, not close enough to be of real use to her, but he and Flora at least were present and they would have to be enough for just then. With Virgo's absence, they were lacking their perfect shield, but still could -- and would -- do everything in his power to make certain that his princess remained safe and protected.

His hand vised on hers and he tucked her behind him, voice level as he instructed, "Please stay behind me, Princess. If you must fight, fight to defend."

The fury from before, banked only in consideration of his Royal and the effort to put her needs above his, began again in the pit of his stomach. Virgo was lost to him, as were Sagittarius, Aries... but this would not be a replay of the past. Eerily, he could recall memories of a similar battle fought, the final moments before Chaos overtook them and claimed each and every one of them; the past, whispering to the future, of how it would be. Again and again and again.

But no. He would not allow that to happen this time. Not this time.

"Princess, Flora, close your eyes," he murmured.

"Chronos Knights!" He lifted both of his hands, summoning magic and flashing a bright, disorienting light across the battlefield. The only person who could see through it at the core of it was Leo, and that was fine; this was both protection and beacon, a signal for the Knights to gather to their Princess and protect, and a deterrent against enemy forces to attack.

After all, looking into his light was, at times, like looking directly into the sun. The biggest disadvantage was that his magic didn't discriminate against friend or foe; at least he was standing to the back. Hopefully, most of his allies hadn't been blinded, but... he considered protecting Chronos, and drawing her knights to her, more important than the temporary sunblinding effects that other senshi might suffer.

The light pulsed now, bright and blinding, and from the core of it, he shouted again. "Protect your Princess!"

With that, he canceled his magic, throwing the sphere around Chronos back into regular light, and hoped that it had been enough -- that the Knights who were meant to had seen the signal, and any enemies who had been looking were at least suffering a little.

Just in case, however, he remained in front of Chronos, battle-ready. He wasn't fool enough to think that his first-stage attack was enough to do real harm to the hordes of Chaos, and he wasn't going to venture from Chronos' side until she had adequate protection in his place.

The Captain had woken only a short while ago so he was able to witness the barrier falling down as he climbed to his feet. The headache was mostly gone, something for which he was thankful. He didn't need a headache when going in to battle, again.

Looking over the troops he spotted a familure senshi of the dark mirror, Leto. Making his way toward her he gave her something a pleased and yet tired smile. "It's good to see you Leto, I hope you fared well in the earlier battle." He was not one of the agents she should every worry over, he realized she was on the side of Chaos and he knew not of what lay in her past.

"You seem to have some new senshi with you." Glancing to those with the senshi of camouflage. "Would you like some help in keeping them safe?"

Camelot of Earth was ready to defend his temporary home, and those that he loved that remained. He was still stinging from the loss of his companions so far, but it solidified into a grim resolve. A warrior's resolve. His mind had not turned everything over just yet: he was running on empty. He hadn't cleaned the blood that had dried to the side of his face and in his hair, dark against the armor of his shoulder and chest.

He didn't think about Virgo or Harmony, telling Kyndall her daughter had died despite all his promises to the both of them, all his determination to play the role his costume ordered, or the growing numbers of the enemy. He didn't think about revenge, either. His goal was still to protect and serve. He was a knight of this realm, in service of a Princess, and would use his life to that end.

He held his shield and himself upright proudly.

General Painite, for her part, was more than ready to charge the closest knight she could find as soon as she was able. She hoped her compatriots would fight their hardest, and had no doubt in the skills of those like Benitoite, Jarosite and Sugilite. They, and many others, hopefully all of them gathered, would make the Negaverse proud, and crumble the senshi that stood before them like bowling pins.

Now was their time to rise.

(I missed most of the last one so I'm not really in any of the RPs right now. If anyone wants to hang out with Painite or Camelot feel free to do so!)

Sugilite was feeling better, a whole lot better. Amazing what a few hours of shuteye and a whole lot of energy can do for a girl. As the other officers around her had stood up and moved forward, she had gone back to the hopping skip of an exited little girl again. During the night, all the emotion from the previous battle had been carefully packaged up and put away. It was temporary, she knew, but she'd work on it when she got back home, as she was certain she would. Sugilite didn't fear death, because she knew it would never come for her. It wasn't that she was better than everyone, because she'd certainly never think that. Oh, no. Not at all. She was polite and ladylike, certainly not one to put on airs. And of course, oh so very modest.

It was fun to tear down the barrier, made up of the human souls that the senshi were always bragging about protecting and caring for, that they had used in the end to defend themselves and hide behind. What was the difference between how she pulled a starseed and used it to grow stronger, and them using the people they 'swore' to protect as an emergency barrier? Nothing, apart from several tonnes of blinding self-righteousness on the senshi's side. She grinned.

Sailor Draconis had fled, if not after shouting some insults to the other side. When she had returned to the outpost to sleep, she had examined her body in horror. Never had she been so scratched up or bruised. Never. Her hair was an absolute mess, and she was pretty sure they didn't have product up in space.

She had fallen asleep at some point in one of the beds. Her dreams ... well no, they were nightmares weren't they? She had been plagued with nightmares of Sugilite's feral form, and Howlite's evil stare. It had been so deep, the chaos in their eyes. It wasn't something that came from the nega-beast, it was something far older, far more powerful.

It was the negaverse.

Nevermind that. Sailor Draconis stood guarding the outpost for sometime, just watching the barrier slowly deteriorate. She was thankful to the civilians for at least buying some time to sleep, but it was obvious they weren't going to last. Anxiously, Draconis tapped her heeled boot on the rough stone.

---

Peklo was sore all over. ALL over. She wasn't unfit, she did swimming regularly after all. She just wasn't fit for all the adrenaline and excitement and sorrow and death ...

It would be a lie to say that her mind wasn't still on Felix and Callum. She had the chance to protect Felix. She had it. Peklo could've stood there and defended like a real knight would have. But she had been too scared. She ran off for the protection of Celsus, and because of it, Felix had died. And Callum...

The universe could only take so much.

Nevermind that though. It wasn't the time. She already did her moping. Eventually she had fallen asleep on one of the beds in the outpost, out of sheer exhaustion, but not before staying up for hours on end, thinking about her failure as a knight. Had Celsus been with her when she fell asleep? She couldn't remember. It wasn't the time. The barrier was growing thinner every second.

Protect your princess!

The words reverberated in her ears, and she knew the encouragement they were supposed to provide, but it never came. She was still nervous, biting her lip, and slowly tugging on the edges of her braids. She was still scared, anxious, afraid. In short? She was still Layton.

The ground underfoot shook, the barrier shattered, and just like that the battle resumed anew. It was odd, but Navi was actually looking forward to the opportunity to face the senshi. Not all of course, she knew some where far stronger then others, but should she find someone just as newly awakened as herself there would be no hesitation.

She didn't need Howlite's commanding advice to see the white moon court for what they were, she'd known it long before Ares had found her. "Wouldn't dream of it," she breathed out, grinning as she watched the castle in the distance and the foes that were hiding within it.

Felicia would have been scared, would have run and hid from the promise of a new battle with it's blood shed and death, but Navi strode forward with purpose and confidence. Not in her victory, she wasn't fool enough to assume she could match many on the side of order, but in the fact they they, the minions of Chaos, would make them pay.

Princess Ares only had the opportunity to share a few words before the shield once again fell. There was no frustration in her eyes, just the burning rage of a tiger ready to pounce. She could still see threads of the civilians in the air. The leader of the Dark Mirror had absolutely no idea how she was able to convert them from a noncorporeal state into a corporeal one, but she didn't plan to question it. She just wanted to do it again.

Planting her torch in the ground, Ares cartwheeled over the heads of a line of Negaverse agents in front of her. Her fighting style was clear: Ares was fast. When she landed, six glowing mirrors formed around her. The cinnamon-haired princess crossed her arms over her chest and closed her eyes. The crystal pulsed black, putrid energy. Her eyes flashed open, and she shot her hands outward.

The mirrors flew like rockets away from her. Most shattered into nothingness, but one, one lovely mirror, caused a plume of smoke to erupt from the ground, leaving an incredibly lovely Dark Mirror warrior standing in its place:

CONGRATULATIONS! Raven is now a DMC senshi. She won't know her name, sphere, or power unless she stumbles on to a guardian cat during battle. For her magic, you'll have to get it approved in a profile thread -- so just stick to physical attacks for this battle. AND WELCOME!

The conversion had happened almost twenty feet away from Ares, and with the battle beginning anew, she didn't have time to go coddle the girl. "LETO!" Ares roared above the noise. "PROTECT HER." And then she was off, leaving a cloud of wisping smoke in her wake. Her torch swung left and right, striking at any senshi or knights who might try to stop her.

Now there was a Great Youma to protect... and a Surrounding to conquer.

Benitoite had only just finished talking when Alunite teleported into the fray. All these new senshi...

"They don't know their magic, don't they ?" He asked Leto, frowning, as he crossed his arms, doing nothing to hide the cracks in his chest. That was perhaps worse than not knowing how to punch.

It was like not knowing who you truly were. He doubted Benitoite, well-meant as he was, understood that - through he hadn't made the mental link in between the pale-haired captain and the boy who had visited him while his ribs were broken, under his sister's advice.

"Try to stay together, and try to stay close to Leto, Howlite and Benitoite." He said. "If I feel an eternal coming... I'll go deal with them."

He was suited for that, anyway. Bring an irritant was his job.

There hadn't been much else to do so -- Veer hunted down Cameron to growl out his frustration and then challenge him to a game of cards. Something luck-based, something mindless, because his luck was good and his mind was fried right about now. Some part of him thought maybe, just maybe, this was all a load of crap. He'd had too much soda before bedtime. Fallen asleep at his computer.

So it was war. Game after game, cards thrown down opposite each other, the pair of them tying endlessly and getting more agitated by the second. When the shield went down, Veer was more than ready to hit something, and it would probably be better if it wasn't his new ally.

There had been a whole night to recover, the second phase of the battle had just begun, and yet the Great One's state of being was far from ideal. Its exhaustion was apparent in its motions, more sluggish than it had been in the beginning, and dark tar seeping out of its many wounds that refused to close. However... it was still intimidating in its energy signature and the huge, dark claws that slashed out at anyone near.

With another mighty roar, it sturdied itself upon the road. The message was clear: even while injured, it was not going to back down.

Kestrel was more confused then ever. Eternal? She listened to everyone as they came over but nothing really made sense. What was going on? She did however turn when Ares appeared and suddenly another girl was standing there much like she had been. She also wasn't sure this was the best way to win a war, making new recruits then leaving them but she really had no idea what was going on.

Then the creature behind them made a noise, a rather large roar in fact. Wasn't she told to protect that? She looked around and made sure she knew what was going on. Protect the monster and stay alive. The rest of it, well hopefully she would be alive at the end to know what was going on.
