Shun shrugged at the question and glanced over to the side. If he could have done something to help his friend in the past, he would have done it right away. But things hadn't quite gone that way.
"Oh, I've sent my fair share down there. But it's never enough.

Not finding anyone of interest on the top deck, Jonathan now goes below to the storage hold to do his "other" job as a Quartermaster. As much as he hated to do it, making sure the supplies aboard a ship were well stocked was a vital duty. If they were a thousand leagues from the nearest port, and without any rations on hand, who knows what the crew would do? Even with his duties of Quartermaster, coming down to the storage hold had another importance to him; making sure the sleeping area of Cosette was safe and secure.

Arabeth only shrugged at his response, glancing around the upper deck she wondered what kind of people she was going to get caught up with on this trip. She shook her head ridding it of any thought that was displeasing and turned back to Shun. “Well then m’lord, for their sack I hope we come across none.”

Shun nodded grimly, then let out a small breath of air. He knew there was a pretty good chance that they'd run into some naval officers somewhere down the line while on this ship, but it wasn't too bad to hope that it wouldn't happen.
After a bit of silence, he glanced at her and asked, "What exactly were you doing, running from that slave ship that night anyway? If you don't want to answer, that's fine with me."
It was just a curious thought to him.

Ara raised an eyebrow. “I’m not a slave if that is what you are thinking.” She said and rolled her shoulders. “I was a stowaway on the ship, when I was on the last island I didn’t have a bit of coin to my name to get off of it in a safer manner.” She said. “And I’d hate to be caught as a stowaway on a slave ship.”

Shun had doubted that she was a slave, so the first part wasn't any news to him. Though when she gave a quick explanation to the rest, he nodded.
"Don't blame ya. In that case, the rooms here would really be a nice change for you then," he said, figuring that it wasn't exactly too comfortable for her to be hiding away on a slave ship.

She smiled at him. “Well that and the inns around here didn’t let me in after that little stun we pulled in the last pub. I’ve yet to find one that even let me in its doors other then the cutlass at it was a bit pricey for me.” She said. “I take it that you found other places to rest m’lord?”

Shun rubbed the back of his neck a little nervously as he knew that stunt was more or less his fault.
"I had to, unless I wanted to risk being killed in my sleep for sleeping outside somewhere. Being able to lift gold and other valuables from unsuspecting people is always a good skill to have for these types of things."

She frowned. “I wasn’t killed in my sleep, though pick pocketing nearly cost me my own price.” She said and forced a smile on to her face and looked over Shun. “I’m glad that your still alive though these nights.” She said and looked away.

"You don't have several people who'd love to see your dead body either."
He glanced at her when she said her second statement. After gazing her for some time, his eyes trailed back to the area ahead of him. Shun hadn't really expected something like that, so he wasn't sure what to say in return, especially after a few of the things that had happened before.
"And I thought you wanted to forget that I ever existed. But it's good to see that you have managed to survive as well."

“I didn’t think that I’d be stuck here alone with you. That’s for sure, I didn’t for a moment think that you’d survive. Which is why I did not wish to learn your name. But now that I do I am glad.” She said and smiled weakly. “Sorry, I tend to change my mind often m’lord.”

Listening to her, Shun merely nodded at first. Not wanting to make any ties with someone who you are certain will be killed off fairly soon was quite understandable to him. He glanced back at her and returned a weak grin.
"No need to apologize. It's not really a bad change, but I'm not that easy to kill off."
At least now he knew there was at least one member of the crew who could tolerate him, and not want to throw him overboard.

Ara shook her head at his response. “That doesn’t mean that it won’t change back.” She said but shrugged her shoulders knowing that it probably wouldn’t. “Shall we tour the ship, I’m not in the mood to sit here just because the big kids told us to. I’m sure everything will be fine if we don’t touch anything.” She said as she stood up and smiled.

"True. Anything can change given the right materials. I was just saying that particular change wasn't that bad of one."
Shrugging, he stretched for a moment, then stood up. Giving a weak grin in return, he shrugged once more at the suggestion. Another little tour around the area to get the feel of where things were could always help.
"I took a quick look around earlier. But another go won't hurt. Nothing else to do on this ship right now anyway."

“Well then, I vote you leader of this little expedition. So start leading, I’m afraid all I’ve seen on the ship is the deck. Which isn’t every appealing by the looks of it.” She said and rubbed her arms.
