Amelia Frances
Amelia looked more solemn, feeling the sadness within Kalle. Like usual, it made her want to fix it, but she doubted the professor would be happy if she walked over and hugged her. Frowning she decided distraction would be the best choice of action, avoiding the death of the Doxy, even if she was curious to know how to kill it. ”How strong is it? Can it lift more than its body weight? But not strong enough to break those bars in the cage?” Forcing herself, she took a step forward towards the creature, then flinched as it hissed at her.

Guessing Amelia could sense her discontent, Kalle gave her head a small, slight shake as if to clear it. 'Doxies are surprisingly strong for their size; they are able to lift two to three times their body weight. However, there is no need to worry of him escaping his cage,' she added after seeing some of the students' wide-eyed stares toward the doxy in his metal cage. Kalle smiled as Ammy took a step closer to him, and waved encouragingly for her to step closer and not be afraid. She was not going to let anything happen to any of her students, they had no need to worry about that.

'You might belong in Gryffindor, Where dwell the brave at heart, Their daring, nerve, and chivalry Set Gryffindors apart;' . Thinking . . Speaking . . Action .
Ginelle smiled when Amelia stepped closer like she was. The creature, although tiny and intimidating, was actually very interesing to learn about. Ginelle put her face a little closer, only for the doxy to fly really fast towards the cage wall and towards her face. Ginelle, being the brave one though, didn't back down. She just watched the doxy fly close to her, and then stop right before it hit the cage. The doxy made a sort of grumbling sound and flew back to the middle of the cage. Ginelle kind of felt bad for the creature. It was the doxy's nature to be like it was. "Professor, do you know if doxy's are usually... an irritating creature? I mean, if you were to leave it alone, would it leave you alone? Kind of like bees in the muggle world?"

Gryffindor Prefect Sparrow----Gryffindor ----3rdyear Gryffinclaw Quidditch Captain And Seeker Sparrow had quickly been taking notes. The questions were coming so fast she didn't have time to ask her own. She finished writing down notes on the last questions and quickly raised her hand. She then asked, "Where will a Doxy normally dwell and in what? I know you can find them in backyards, etc, but what habitats do they prefer?" She was ready to write down the answer and listened intently.

Kalle nodded at each question that was asked. She was glad to see the students were involved enough in the lesson to want to ask about everything they needed to know about doxies. 'Oh, believe me, doxies are irritating creatures. They are more like the wasp of the Muggle world than the bee. And Sparrow, doxies will bury eggs underground or in small nooks and crannies. They prefer cooler climates, which is why they can be found throughout Europe and North America,' she explained, laughing lightly when explaining that doxies were definitely both irritating and irritable creatures.

*Sophia took notes and slid back into her gaze toward the lesson. Curiously, she raised her hand...* Professor, do doxies make any sort of distinguishing noise? Or form of communicating?

Amelia Frances
Amelia forced herself closer to the creature, pausing to take notes on the way. Once she was in the front row, with everyone else, but Ginelle, who was close to the cage, she stopped, figuring she didn't need to get closer. She studied him, tried to send comforting sensations to him, but he remained irritable. Though she'd probably be that way if she was in a cage too. She was starting to think of the Doxy as a living creature more than just a scary pest. Though it was hard...she was scared of wasps too.

Alex listened carefully, taking notes when a student asked a question and when the Professor answered. Alex had no question to ask for all the question she had, had been asked

Kalle smiled at Sophia. 'Yes, doxies do communicate. Doxies communicate in a similar way to bats, with high-frequency screeches, chirps and squeaks. Doxies also have an uncanny ability to laugh,' she added, glancing at the doxy in his cage.

Amelia Frances
Amelia couldn't stop a laugh of her own. It was a full bright noise, that seemed to piss off the doxy for a moment it began thrashing around in its cage, reaching out towards her. Amelia merely smiled at it, and once it realized its inability, with a fierce glare, it moved to the back of the cage, watching to see if anyone would come near.

Amelia Frances
Aside from what Amelia had just heard, she was totally clueless about Doxies, therefore her question in her mind wasn't nearly as dumb as it truly was, "Do they come in different colors? Or does blue mean something?" It didn't seem good for hiding, or camouflage. Was it such a bright color to warn off others for its poison? She had no idea.

'Actually,' Kalle said, her interest sparked by the seemingly simple question, 'The reason for the doxy's colouring is that their entire body is filled with their poison. Of course, it is below the surface of the skin and so cannot be physically touched; however it does give them a rather interesting shade of indigo skin, similar to the colour of the welts that occur from a human having the poison within them.' She herself found it an interesting explanation, especially since the doxy's body is filled with a poison that has no effect on them.

Meiko was listening quietly as she wrote important facts about Doxies. They were really interesting, but Meiko's mind was floating up in clouds after a while.

That caught Amelia attention. Fear completely pushed aside by her innate curiosity, her arm went straight back up again. "Can you collect the poison and use it in small amounts for cancer or such?" She had no idea if cancer even existed in the magical world. But then she thought about the bites. And answered herself with a frown, "It would spread too much, wouldn't it?" Still, it would be a scary poison for any bad person. Thankfully, it seemed like Doxies were hard to catch.
