"Thanks" he leaned over her, towering above the small woman. He put his hands on her shoulders, the smile fading from his face, a look of cunfusion mixed with concern on his face.
"Sy-chan..." he began, hesitantly "are you.. avoiding me?" Ech.. it was probably just his imagination and she was going to tell him not to be so bloody stupid... and probably thump him for good measure. she'd done that several times. Oh well, it had been said now.

! "Wait!" Her vocals reacted before her mind or body could. "Er.." She blinked, the rest of her catching up with herself. Did he just say hot springs? "I've been looking for the springs and I wasn't sure where they were exactly.." Her cheeks subconsiously flushed a little, unaware at first at how wrong it rathered sounded. "Could you show me? Er-I-I-" She cracked. "No! I didn't mean it like that," she gritted her teeth. Ohh, real smooth. "I just couldn't find them," she finally addmitted, mumbiling. She really didn't want to say that. It probably just made her look more like a lost idiot. x.<
Pueblo's ears twitched upward as Delta accepted the nuzzle and begun to exchange one back. She cooed, her eyes watching those strong antlers to make sure they didn't poke her vitals. Reading along the same brain-wave, did Delta portray her as a friend now? No doubt she did! She begun to nibble on the other's long ear, rather simular to Nehanda's. Oh, this was familiar! She flicked her tail around some more and gave another coo emitting from her throat.

David smiled, and gestured for Fae to follow him. "That there is the male side of the springs, and the other is the female." Grinning a little, he waggled a finger at Fae. "And no sneaking into the male side, no matter how many hot guys are there. Apparently Aly has made up some very innovative punishments for anyone that's caught on the wrong side." He chuckles, and kisses Fae's hand. "Well, enjoy your soak M'lady. I'm off to enjoy mine!"

"Of course I am!" She suddenly blurted out, looking at him if, for once, HE was the fool... and quite a change that was. Why wouldn't she avoid him? He knew she had a crush and it was obvious, from the other night, that he didn't really return the sentiment, or at least not in the same fashion. Did he think she'd take that so easily, that she wouldn't at least be a bit spurned and embarassed at her outburst and his reaction?
"I just thought..," she began, staring intently at her boots, "it would be easier on us. You made it clear the other night where you stand, and I'm obviously... of a different mind." She cleared her throat and wished the kettle would hurry up.
Eeee! Her ear! She was nibbling on her ear... how... odd. o_O These other Aerandir had obviously a lot to teach her about social interaction, that was for sure... but now she was beginning to notice that Sy had fled to another room. Wait a minute, what had just happened?

A few hours later, and Kiro had almost finished up his task. He'd finally identified the fur as polar bear fur. The fur was clear so that it could bounce away light, making it seem almost white. Interesting stuff, even though he'd had to work his way all the way to 'P' to find that out.
He'd also started looking through the birds section of the glossy book. What animals could you possibly pair a polar bear with? He picked up his pencil and chewed on the end of it silently, frowning in concentration, his ears twitching gently in like. Habitats, right? So, birds that lived in cold places would be a good place to start. Alyosha had also mentioned feeding habits, but Kiro could hardly imagine many birds that would eat seals. So, a little later he came up with a short list:
~ Snowy Owl
~ Ptarmigan
~ Emperor Penguin
~ Snow Goose
~ Arctic Tern
This, he assumed, would be enough to go on for the moment - and he got the impression that, if it wasn't in-depth enough, he would be told. He spent a short while writing a report, detailing what he'd based his assumptions on, and briefly why he'd chosen those particular birds as possible matches. Then, taking the report and the fluff, he pushed open his door and proceeded down the corridor with the intention of going to find Alyosha, unaware of the... intimate... conversation going on...

Alyosha blinked, considering this. his hasty retreat perhaps.. sent the wrong impression. He knew he couldn't, most liekly, be what she wished of him, he wasn't the type to be soppy but still, he liked her, her company... Hmm.
Almost lazily he let his hands slide from her shoulders the the opposite ones, leaning down, in a large hug. His chin rested on her head. "Please don't avoid me, Sy" he said.

Fae's brow raised as he kissed her hand. Ech. She smiled wearily as he showed her where they were located. "Ohh.." She absently spoke. "Thanks, but I really should go get Pueblo first.." And straying her attention away from him, and wandered back into the main lobby. "Ahh, Pueblo, dear. Would you like to check out the hot springs, soon? Perhaps Sy would like to joins us...but I don't know where she went." She eyed Delta who seemed to be accepting Pueblo's actions. "Delta, dear?Perhaps we should go look for your..er...mommy, Sy."
Pueblo noticed as Delta looked around, and followed her notion. Hey...where did everyone go? Oh, there's her keeper! Sitting up, but still close to her new friend, she blinked at Fae. Ohh, those...hot water things she was talking about earlier. And the vile steam she couldn't capture! Yes..where did that other human go to?

Sy just stood there, defeated for a moment. It was like confessing love to someone and they were smiling at you asking to be friends. He wanted her to not avoid him, pretend like everything was okay... that was too much. Just too much. What did he think she was, emotionally masochistic?
"Damnit, Aly. I end up confessing feelings to you and all you want is me to not avoid you so we can be friends. You have friends, plenty of friends around here. You don't need me," she offered, suddenly trying to shove him away with a burst of anger. It was... too much.
Delta blinked and stood, looking at Fae with a moment of confusion. Twisting her ears around she knew the only other place her mother would go without her. She was trying to get to the futon! With no warning, Delta rushed towards the apartment to claim her bed.

Kiro moved towards Alyosha's door, in time to hear Sy's voice. He didn't mean to eavesdrop, but as he raised a fist to knock on the door he blinked. He paused, hearing the sentance, then stepping back slightly. Maybe now wasn't the best time to interrupt...
It wasn't his fault he tripped on his own tail and fell backwards with a yelp, partially from the surprise of falling, and partially from the fact that standing on your own tail hurt. A little dazed, he wondered how he'd managed it at all... it wasn't like his tail was that long, was it?

Alyosha looked down at Sy, holding her tightly as she tried to pull away from him. "Sy.. " he didn't know how to express what he was thinking. "Sy.. I do like you.. and in a little more than friendly manner but i'm no good for you, I'm like evey other man you've had before if what you've said to me is true." he stopped, pouting a little. "I'm... not into relationships" he said. "Not good at them."
Suddenly, he heard a yelp, just outside the door. He blinked and pulled away from Sy, glad for the reprieve but unhappy to let her go. He stalked towards the door, pulling it open.

"Delta! Where are you going!" Fae yelped and quickly chased after the little thing.
Pueblo too, blinked, and chased after.
Running up the stairs, she wondered where she was going. "Delta!" She cried again before a sudden abrute sound shook ahead of her. Finishing the never ending stair steps, she stared at the end of the hall to a younger looking boy lain on the ground. Furrowing her brow, she wandered over while she trusted Pueblo to follow Delta and make sure she's safe. "Um...are you okay?" She asked, holding a hand down to him. Taking a careful look at the boy, she did double-take. Wait...was that a..tail she saw? Then voices of a familiar person was heard through the door in front of them. Wait, was he spying? She gave the boy a curious scowl and made sure he couldn't get away. There really was hardley any place to flee to.

Kiro blinked broadly, now noticing the woman, and he turned to see her scowling at him. Her scowl made him blush beet red - he didn't have a clue who she was - and had he looked that stupid? So much so that he deserved a scowl of that calibur?
"I... I was just... I mean I didn't..."
Then he noticed the door was starting to open... so then he turned his head in that direction, hastily trying to get to his feet - fleeing being a very prominent impulse. But... where could he flee to? The woman was in his way... and she clearly planned to stay rooted to the spot.
So... Kiro just stood clutching the report and the fur tightly - blushing so much and so fiercely that the tips of his snowy ears seemed to look a little pinker.

Alyosha knew that Sy wopuld have gone now. It was just like her to have done her usual mind tricks. After he had seen Delta run through his legs he knew she'd retreat. she always came back though so he was resigned to waiting on her.
He looks down at Kiro and towards Fae. She didn't seem to happy and he looked flustered. He sighed slightly "Hey, Kiro-kun, Fae-san" he said. Something I can do for you both? The anger had been sapped out of him. He'd have to talk to Sy when she got back. Talk without her dissapearing.
((Lori had to leave sharpish so we assume she'd done a teleporting-type thing))

"I uhh..." Kiro couldn't escape the discomfort of being scowled at, but continued regardless. "I finished with the fur... I came to give it to you..."
He tactfully avoided the fact he'd overheard Sy. He didn't know what it was about, and was aware that it was none of his concern.
Didn't stop him wondering though...

((Ohh okay. Is everything okay?))
As soon as the door opened, she looked up to Aly whom was standing there. Obviously, he knew this kid ((Im assuming he's young-ish >< wink ), but what did he just call her? Japanese orinated? "Uh.." Caught off guard by it, she watched Delta zip between his feet. "Oh, hi Aly. I was just looking for Sy." She stared as Pueblo darted after Delta, running over people and between Aly's legs as well. "Have you uh...seen her?" She glanced back at..Kiro, did she hear correctly? She wondered about him for a moment. And that tail..
