Miyu paused to think about it, "Things have been okay. Uncle Yukito is temporary headmaster so I have to look after the Healer's Wing... mi...."
At least no one besides the usual had come in seriously hurt, just the fighters for the usual. Well except for that one time someone had an accident in the potions lab but she supposed that was to be expected.
"And, spending time experimenting. Everyone is busy, just finished the Lunar New Year." at least she could be alone for that now.

"Experimenting?" Aragost was interested in hearing more about that. "What kind of experiments have you been doing?"
He knew about the school, and that she had been working as a healer there, but experiments were something that was always new and exciting.

"With our limits," Toshiro explained, "We already know that I draw magic from Miyu. We also know that it acts like a weight on a muscle, continously done over time the muscle gets stronger, Miyu has unusaully large reserves because of our arrangement."
"But..." Miyu added, "It was to see if Toshiro could cast magic through me, and to see how it would turn out because I am more ice and snow."
Toshiro always struck her as a more fire person but to her it would have been interesting to see if he could cast the same type of magic as her.
"Toshiro might not need to, but it's good to know if he can cast magic in this arrangement."

"And how has that been working out for you?" Aragost smiled, leaning forward slightly in his chair. "Has it been working at all?"
He still didn't understand all of the workings of magic in Gaia, as it was a world entirely unlike their own, and it interested him.

Toshiro grimace, "It's difficult, it's possible but it's difficult. It doesn't harm Miyu since she has a lot and generally doesn't use it, but it's just much easier to let Miyu deal with the magic side of things. To suddenly be able to cast magic is too weird."
He had lived his life only taking what he needed to use magic it would take more than that.
"And I didn't gain Miyu's immunity to the cold," he glanced at her, "So her magic is difficult."

Haldia asked a question in her own language, looking at Miyu, and Aragost translated for her.
"Haldia would like to know, what is your magic, Miyu?" he said softly. He smiled. "Perhaps you could give her a demonstration?"
He was sure Haldia would be surprised, but he was also certain that she would like it.

Miyu nodded though she blushed because she wasn't use to that much attention on her own sort of magic. She held out her hands focusing on them so only the area around her hands would get cold and not anywhere else. She was quite aware not everyone else would like the cold like the way she did.
Between her hands a several pointed star slowly grew it was like ice, but it seemed to have a flicker of something inside. Coldness surounded it as it grew until she held a small several pointed star in her hands. It was technically ice, but it probably wouldn't melt.
Even after all thsi time Miyu liked stars.

Haldia watched curiously as the star slowly grew, and she smiled in appreciation. It was beautiful ...
She reached out tentatively and touched one of the spikes on the star to see how sharp it was. She was more surprised by how cold it was, and she wracked her brains trying to remember the word that she was looking for.
"Es ... i ... ice?" she asked, remembering back to their time on Amon Darthir.

Miyu nodded, "Ice! I'm good at making ice and snow."
Those were the easiest forms of what she could do, she could do a bit of wind but only because of assoication to the cold.

Haldia was proud of herself for remembering the word from nearly a year previous. Her eyes lit up at the mention of snow.
"Make?" she repeated eagerly. She motioned outside. "Make snow?"
Aragost chuckled softly. "I think she would like to see. Miyu, would you be so kind?"

Putting a finger to her lips Miyu wondered where she should make snow, it wasn't unusual for her to do so, it was just where?
Giving the star to Toshiro Miyu held out her hands again as she summoned a little whirlwind of snow. The tiny snowflakes gathered around her hands as the whirl wind slowly formed a small snowman only it didn't have any eyes, nose, or even a mouth but it had arms at its side at least.

Haldia gasped with delight and reached out, trying to catch some of the flakes in her hand. She started chattering away in her own language, and Aragost laughed softly.
"She is very impressed," he grinned at Miyu. "She first encountered snow and ice while she was on another island, and though she is not used to such cold temperatures, she enjoyed it immensely."

Miyu giggled at that, she could see that. As long as the weather wasn't awful she enjoyed plently of snow, and ice was okay but only if you used them to make things like ice cream or popiscles.
"It is fun when it's cold because I can play in the snow."
Though she also knew she didn't need to bundle up as much unlike other people so she could get away with the season change easier.

At that, Haldia blinked. "Play?" she repeated, tilting her head curiously.
She looked at Aragost and spoke to him, and Aragost nodded and smiled. "It seems," he said, turning to Miyu, "that on the island where she saw snow, they didn't even get enough to cover the ground."

That sounded like very little snow to her, which to her was kind of sad because she loved snow very much (though she perhaps love stars more).
"Back home and here it snows enough to really covers the ground and gets really deep. We can make things out of snow when it gets that much," she explained.
