Tjaden lashes out with his magical weapon as he rallies everyone to the staircase!
1 Tjaden misses.
2-4 The shade narrowly dodges, being only grazed from the magical light, causing moderate damage.
5-6 The shade is struck by the light, being dealt heavy damage
Results: Tjaden's attack fails, however due to his shield, he is protected from a counterattack!

Kal feels the sap of energy and strength, then hears Tjaden's command. "Don't have to tell me twice," he remark's before running off to the stairs, as fast as he could in his damaged state.

The elf gasped as she felt her strength ebb slightly from the shade's attack, "Other worldly beast!" she said as she let loose her previously set arrow into the creature, she knew these beings were not made of flesh so she was careful to make sure the arrow went off and hit another foe out in the dark, using the eyes as markers. The ranger then retreated up the stairs, firing arrows and attempting to hamper their foes so that the others could do the same.

((Well, no. But... since I'm in a merciful mood, and since Ronus hasn't been used in ages, we can say he did.))
The shade nears for another attack against Laren as she prepares to unleash an enchanted arrow into its head.
1 Laren misses and the shade strikes again, dealing minor damage, further draining strength
2-3 Laren's shot goes off-target, only striking the shoulder of the creature of shadow, dealing moderate damage.
4 Laren's shot hits dead-on between the eyes and destroys the shade.
Results: The effects of the previous attack having weakened the ranger, her arrow narrowly misses its mark, dealing less damage to the creature. Though the damage dealt is still significant, as it screeches out in pain and falls back several meters.
The loud thuds from before are becoming louder and louder, they seem to be originating from the other side of the audience chamber!

Erron's head spins a bit as the cold touch of the wraith that assaulted him drained him of his strength like a plunge into freezing water would, he shakes it off as best he could realizing that it would still effect him for a short while, the pounding he thought first was coming from his head was emanating from the chamber they had just entered, a two plans sprung into mind, either they could back up to the entrance and defend from the stairwell, which limited Tjaden and Ronus' ability to fight due to the extremely close quarters while at the same time improving their defensibility while perhaps Kal and someone else rushed off to find one of the enchanted gems they were told about: the pounding put him ill at ease. Or they could push forward into the larger chamber and try to secure whatever portal the undead came from and ensure that more did not join the three Shades
He pondered which would be the wiser course of decision as he regained his equilibrium: with a swift motion revealed the golden armbands shining from the light of the enchanted weaponry being wielded around him, and began launching punches at the shade that was facing him.
"The pounding does not sound like a very good omen, does it?! We need to act fast before the stairs get overwhelmed by whatever is making all of that noise!"
((Sorry I'm jumping into this fight so late, Fridays and Weekends are the days I often don't get on till much much later.))

Erron strikes out with Flurry of Blows!
1 Only minor damage is dealt, the shade is off-balance however thus no counter attack
2-5 Erron's magically enhanced fists strike true, dealing moderate damage.
6 Erron's furious barrage critically hits! Heavy damage is dealt.
Results: Erron pounds into his opponent, dealing moderate damage and sending it screeching backwards.
The stomping sound ended momentarily, leaving the audience chamber in temporarily silence aside from the sounds of battle.

Tjaden replied to Erron as he circled the shade, placing himself between the shade and any of his companions.
"We need to cover our flanks! We don't know how many of them there are!" The last word was spoken as a loud grunt as Tjaden made another determined thrust of his blade over his shield. The pounding may have stopped, but they could still be overwhelmed by shades. If that happened, there would be no way to protect Selce and Kal from being forced in to face-to-face combat and while Tjaden valued their abilities, he knew close combat was not their forte.

Tjaden attempts to use Guarded Attack! (New technique unlocked!)
1 The shade dodges the attack, and lashes back but is blocked by the shield.
2-3 The attack only grazes the shade, dealing minor damage
4-5 The attack pierces the shade, dealing medium damage
6 The attack critically hits, dealing heavy damage.
Results: The orc's well-timed thrust sent his magically enhanced blade ripping through the creature of shadow's heart. The attack slices upwards, dealing critical damage and the shade melts into nothingness with a death cry.
Two Shades remain.

(Not sure how a thief managed to cast blur on himself? I'm out of sorts today, anyhow.)
The dieing screech of the shade reinforced Erron's resolve to get everyone out of the tomb alive, as it offered the proof that their defense was effective, he nodded at Tjaden in agreement as he sent another combination of punches at the shade he had injured not long ago. "True while that may be don't discount them from the fight."

Erron lashes out once more, attacking the same shade from before.
1 The shade anticipates the attack and moves to the side, striking the monk again with its nether claws, draining strength and dealing minor damage
2-5 The shade is struck by Erron's attacks and is injured, though it does not run away
6-7 The shade is struck by Erron and is critically injured, its morale breaks and attempts to flee into the shadows
8 The shade is beaten into nothingness as it screams once more before it fades away.
Results: Erron strikes true, dealing moderate damage to the shade, though it merely screams in pain before returning beside its twin to prepare a counter.

Kall backed away from the group and all the light. He needed the shadows for his own usage. He wanted to hide in them. He prepared his enchanted shortsword, ready to try this puppy out, and began Blur on himself as he tried to backstab the two remaining shades.
((ummm. Can't remember how to tell it to roll a dice.))

Kal, after casting Blur on himself, attempts to slip into the shadows...
1-2 Success
3-4 Failure
Results: Kal disappears within the darkness as he slips undetected back into the fray.
