Onstaan turned to leave, as apparently Yemits had nothing to say. Onstaan was careful to pick his way around the tiny humans and few Guardians watching them. He would be flying to the Reimli now. Considering his manner, the big dragon might take all the small people and Guardians with him if they asked nicely. You know, if they wished to get over there for some reason or another.

Raye quickly stopped the enormous dragon.

"Wait!" he said, "...Thank you. What was your name again?"

Well, Raye actually had to just jump in front of Onstaan and hope he didn't become squished, because if Onstaan did not wish to stop, he wouldn't have. The dragon did stop, however, and bent his large head to stare downward, past his large, scaled chest at the scrawny two-legged stick-man standing between his massive fore-claws.

"Onstaan," the dragon replied. He spoke physically, with his mouth, as all Guardians did. "And I did nothing to help you."

The dragon then waited patiently for Raye to either move or say something before he continued on his way.

((I pictured Onstaan saying that like Draco on the movie Dragonheart. xd ))

Raye said nothing. He just nodded his head and turned to help Yemits.

Harlin's eyebrows rose a fraction at the fact that the man's apparent age did not hinder him in the least. But looking closer, and trying not to stare, he noticed the lack of wrinkles that came guaranteed with old age. Either the man wasn't as old as he'd assumed--which didn't seem to be the case--or something else... Most likely the Ether or his past Guardian had had a part in that.

As he had taught Floreta to be observant as she could, she may notice a few of these things as well, but maybe not give them too much attention. Harlin felt it possibly didn't matter, other than a clue as to how he was, much less to who.

As the old man was obviously waiting for them to consume the porridge-like food, Harlin took a seat and began eating, ignoring the somewhat bland taste. He didn't like waiting and he didn't like keeping others waiting.

Lucius hid, still thinking he was unnoticed, watching from the shadows. His thoughts consisted of Dragondragondragondragondragon there is a dragon right there...

---

Langsley was furiously tearing apart the woods trying to find Lucius. The thought did not cross her mind that she might gore him by accident if she didn't happen to see him.

---

Zoey sighed and, smiling, hugged Zaccheus's neck. "I'm so glad they stopped fighting!" She said, beaming. Zaccheus groaned.

Onstaan walked into a clearing and, with a powerful thrust of wings and an exertion of muscles, jumped from the surface of Ether and flew in the direction of Reimli.

~

Raziel smiled when some ate. This was very beneficial for them, as the magic in the water had taken quite a toll on their bodies, even though they hadn't realized it yet.

Shef sat down, following suit after Harlin, and ate. He ate quickly, and hiccuped.

Sometimes, when I'm sitting in my bedroom...

All ALONE... in the DARK...

I sometimes look up at the stars and wish I was them.

All ALONE... but in plain SIGHT...

But then I think of something...

.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.

"Please be careful," Floreta told Shef, sitting carefully between he and Harlin, with Marina on the opposite side of the table, who had also begun to lap at the strange mix, her white tail curling. The wind master began to breathe a little easier, and she managed to start eating. She definitely felt safer with her teacher right next to her. And she could get her mind off Marina by looking after Shef.

Knowing that poor boy he'll end up choking...

"Um..." she breathed. It felt so strange to eat and not even know the name of the person who was feeding them. "Thank you... Sir."User Image

.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.

It's really strange, I think...

When they're up there...

They're all ALONE. In the DARK. But everyone can SEE them...

It's strange when I look up at them...

Because they kinda remind me of YOU.

"It's fine," Raziel said. He waited until most all had finished at least most of their porridge/oatmeal/slop.

Shef, actually, never choked. He was voracious when it came to food, but for some reason, perhaps his own odd uniqueness, had never choked on food before. Not even slightly.

Raziel wandered over to the wooden and cushioned chair that sat at the head of the coffee table, as it had to be described, in the center of the main living space. Anyone who was... exceptionally observant, would have noticed that Raziel's tongue was irregularly-shaped, but the old man had spoken so briefly that more solid details would not be able to have been garnered. It was not a human tongue, however.

This also depends on the fact that his guests would have had to have been looking at him when he had spoken, as well. This meant Shef, of course, had not noticed.

~

"Master Harlin," called out a voice unfamiliar to anyone at Harlin's residence (of uncertain existence). Calentine wandered through the halls, having not noticed Reign, Falian, or Holly as of yet. When Calentine spoke again, his voice was colder. "Harlin. Old man, where are you? He said you would be here!"

~

Seeing that most (including, of course, Shef) had finished their bland-meal, Raziel had gestured toward the plant dripping pure water, inviting any to take a leaflet cup and procure a drink, if they wished. Once everyone was settled comfortably, Raziel would presumably begin his explanation.

Shef scrambled over to the water-plant and spent his time filling and refilling his cup, until he had drunk nearly four cup-fulls, before heading toward the seating furniture, and letting everyone else be able to get a drink if they wished.

Reign quirked an ear from where she lay, and she slowly raised her head upwards.

Harlin? Someone here's looking for Harlin?

Rolling her eyes and grumbling to herself, she set her chin back onto her paws, lounging on the crisp green lawn.

Whatever. Probably just some student of his. Whatever.

---

Floreta slowly set down her spoon, and she glanced around to see that the others had finished as well.

Shrinking down slightly in her chair, Floreta set her hands in her lap and waited for someone to start speaking.User Image

Kiki just stared down the bowl of this..
congealed tan gunge.
She frowned and kind of poked it with a spoon.
She'd gone without meals, and it actually was rewarding skipping this one.

To be perfectly fair, they hadn't really invited her to join them, and her knowledge didn't really pass the outside of the Sylstern.
She had decided to tag along, the creator only knows why- and now she was on some dumb island covered in dry sand eating [or staring at] weird goop being talked to by some old man.
And the idiot was getting his generous helping of her attention, unfortunatly.
This was getting old- and she still wondered why and how she got wound up in this mess.
To top it all off Kiki figured that the old man had sharp enough eyes to rat her out if she decided to take the pretty little ring upon the cat-girl's prideful little finger.

She pouted, and flung some porridge to the wall.

Odemunk was in a similar funk.
No rhyme intended.
He silently followed along with the others, for the most part keeping his nose in a scroll.

((*decides not to roll eyes* lol))

Harlin sneezed, quickly covering his mouth in the crook of his elbow. Someone must be calling his name or talking about him, although he didn't believe in the superstitious nonsense, as he called it.

"Excuse me," he said quietly. He pushed his bowl a little ways away from him to signify that he was finished. He could already feel renewed, as if it were a new day and not one where he'd spent most of it running, climbing, and performing other hard physical tasks.

Holly looked back, ignoring the snake-spit sodden bag for the moment. "Harlin..." she said, trying to remember why the name was familiar. Wasn't he that guy that showed up at the clearing? Yeah, he was the one that offered medicine. The same medicine that was in her hand right now, still doing damage repair.

Calentine came across a giant wolf. Cra-ap. He turned around quickly and began walking away without obvious haste, thinking that Harlin had been supposed to be here and no one else, save Dasmascus. Raziel's plan did not involve this!

~

"Now," said Raziel, in his strange, young-sounding voice (about a man of thirty, you might say). He was sitting calmly and smiling.

"You are wondering why you are here. My name is--unimportant," Raziel said after a moment of hesitation. "I will tell you after you agree or refuse my request. There is," Raziel continued, pausing roughly every few words for a short moment. He seemed to have a speech impediment, but on closer look, was simply pausing. Possibly breathing problems--small, inefficient, underdeveloped? His voice was strong and powerful, projecting, even, but the pauses--not stutters--continued on.

"A great danger to the great... great experience that is Ether. Three are the key, but only one is present now. I... think. I am not sure. Malice threatens the land. He seeks to uproot it, change it, make it his own. The Guardians, the Guarded, the creatures, the geography. I implore you to stop him. It is your destiny, no doubt, but the choice is entirely yours."

Raziel finished his hesitant and rough speech, giving far too few details and waiting, seemingly, for questions which would be sure to come.
