Mathias stayed still, his hand still glowing the red flames he was using to light the area. His sword was in the ground at his side and his attention was on Alexa, ignoring the other girl completely.

Alexa sighed and stepped forward, laying a light hand on Kirra's shoulder. "Kirra, please let it go. As entertaining as this is to watch, I'd rather not have any bloodshed." She turned cool green eyes on Mathias. "I'm not going home unless it's in a coffin," she stated flatly. "As you can see, I'm alive and reasonably well, and you can take that back to my mother."
Resting one hand on her hip, she added, "I have nothing to say to them." Then she frowned. "Except...Tell them this: They only had one child." A slow smirk touched her lips. "They'll know what you mean."

"Since you clearly heard me the first time, I don't see why I need to repeat myself," replied Alexa coldly. "Tell my parents - they only had one child. Mother will understand."
Laughing suddenly, she looked up at the stars of the night sky. "I may not even go home when I am dead," she finished gleefully. "I may just decide to have my body burned in the desert and never, never have to stay at rest again."

Alexa smirked. "Why bother sending me back?" she replied coolly. "All that will change is that I'll tell them the same thing in person before leaving again. And again, and again, until they get sick of sending people running after me." With a shrug, she said, "Kirra challenged you because - let's be honest here - you're intruding somewhere that you aren't welcome."
She calmly shifted to stand between Mathias and Kirra. "I know what you're capable of. I also know what you're not. Would you cut me down to get to her? Even for the sake of satisfying your 'interest'?" she asked, seeming honestly interested.
