Sephiroth stormed to cell sixty-two, fire burning in his emerald eyes. He forced the doors open as he came to them, glowering at the man inside. "You."

"Yes, Sephiroth? Something tie your hair into a knot?" Genesis scathingly asked.

A quick backhand to the russet-haired man's face by Sephiroth caused the smirk on Genesis' face to disappear.

"Because of your stunt there's an eighty-percent chance Blaze may never walk again! Have you learned nothing of restraint!?" the silver-locked man bitingly questioned.

"Thanks Bella," Blaze stated. As he looked out the window he noticed that the sky was black; clouds of black smoke from the Mako Reactors polluted the skies above Midgar. "So this is why... AVALANCHE rebelled."

"Acceptable losses Sephiroth. The strong will thrive, while the weak shall be crushed underfoot. If Blaze truly is strong, he'll overcome this," Genesis apathetically retorted.

The silver-haired hero's eyes narrowed in frustration. "Genesis, what's gotten into you? This isn't like you!"

"AVALANCHE, though they have a noble goal, is unscrupulous in its tactics. They don't care who gets killed as long as they cripple Shinra. They're just as amoral as Shinra," Blaze remarked.

Sephiroth had Genesis pinned to the wall; one hand pressing the side of Genesis' face to the wall, the other holding both of the LOVELESS fanatic's wrists held together, and tightly. "Take. That. Back. And do some damage control by apologizing to Blaze!"

"Take what back? You mean that crack about your mother being a horrible, weak person who couldn't survive giving birth to you? Or did she really die? Perhaps she just abandoned you!" Genesis snapped.

At this last remark the silver hair of Sephiroth fell askew upon his face in rage. His next actions were almost instantaneous. His hand that had pressed Genesis' face to the wall went down to the latter's arms. And then, a crack. The two hands pulled Genesis' wrists high up the brown-haired man's back. The arms were broken, a loud cry of pain escaping Genesis.

"You seem to hesitate to mention Genesis after..." Blaze started. He stopped, however, upon hearing a scream of pain that came from above. "That came from the sixty-seventh floor, the way that scream traveled. It would sound like that from either direction, through eighteen floors, up or down. But that came from above. There are prison cells there.

"Sephiroth obviously found Genesis then, and he isn't exactly thrilled with Genesis' behavior," he finished.

Sephiroth released his grip on Genesis, fury burning in his emerald eyes. "Don't ever talk that way about my mother again. That was just a warning." With that he began to wordlessly walk past Bella, the hairs of his bangs askew on his face.

"He called my mother a horrible, weak woman because she died giving birth to me. And then he had the gall to say that he bets she didn't die; that she abandoned me at birth instead. And he has no intention of apologizing to Blaze. As he so eloquently put it, he believes that the strong will thrive and the weak will be crushed underfoot. He feels that if Blaze doesn't walk again, then it means Blaze was too weak!" Sephiroth coolly answered. His head turned back to look at Bella and Genesis. "You've potentially destroyed a man's dream."

"What does he care? He has no emotions. I can see it in his eyes; any emotions he had have long since died. Only pride remains. And pride, unchecked by anything else, is the worst thing a person can have. He feels he's better than everyone else, so he feels there are no consequences for what he says and does," Sephiroth rationalized.

"He's right you know," Genesis answered.

"Hmph," Sephiroth began. "the way Genesis was talking, about how the strong thrive, I figured that he viewed himself as one of the strong. He's faced worse than what I dealt him, and he didn't scream in pain once in the past. Perhaps he's not 'strong' as he defines the word."

"Bella, can you heal my arms with a Curaga spell so I can kick Sephiroth's a** around? I'll show him that I'm not weak like that 2nd Class I trounced before. That kid doesn't deserve to be in SOLDIER," Genesis commented.

A smirk lit upon Sephiroth's face at the comment from the russet-haired man. A light chuckle emanated from his closed mouth. "And there you have it Bella. Straight from Genesis' mouth."
