Taking in a deep breath, she picked up her pace as she released the breath in a long 'whoosh'. So far she'd been doing well... quite well. Sure, she felt like she perhaps could have run faster during the sprint, but as she closed in on the third portion of the race, those worried flew away. This was her favorite part of the race... soemthing only a shinobi village would think of because only shinobi could do it. The wall running section. Sure there were ceilings and water to walk across too, but there waas nothing like the feeling of standing sideways... feeling the lopsided wind agaisnt your body. Sure it was odd, but it was cool too.

Moving chakra to her feet in a hurry, Shuiro quickly jumped ont he closest wall, and formed handseals. She wasn't going to loose this race... Feeling another rush comming on, she went with it, dipping forward to become more streamlined in a way. She had a chance at winning this and she wasn't going to give it up so quickly. Taking a leap she managed to dart across a pond before jumping up to the cieling of an over hanging. How she knew she was supposed to do this, she had no clue... she just did it... After several long, determined minutes, she found herself, once again, int he reach of the finish line... this time for good though. She breathed a sigh of relief when her pulse sensed it, and now she aimed for it with precise twists and turns around walls and other obstacles to get herself there. Not too long now... She brought her hand up to block the massive glare... Walking out, she'd managed to cross the finish line and now she was back in the brightly vursed sunlight... Happy to have gotten the thrill through herself, she jogged off to the side to cool off. Did want cramps later...

Shunshin no Jutsu (Body Flicker Technique) A high-speed movement technique. It is described as 'appearing with the wind and disappearing like the wind.' A very basic jutsu, it appears that most shinobi above Genin-rank know it. Using chakra to activate the body, the user is able to move from one point to another with extreme speeds. This super-fast movement is almost impossible to see with the naked eye. To a normal person, it would seem as if the user has teleported. The amount of Chakra used depends on the distance and elevation between the user and the destination. Cp cost: 1 per ft Damage: N/A Requirements: Dexterity 20+ Training days: 3 days. Special: When rolling initiation checks or racing, or anything that involves speed, add chk mod to the dice roll.

Sakeme looked around curiously. There were many villagers gathered around today... though that was because one of the biggest events of the year, or something like that, was happening... today.Figuring it couldn't hurt, and she'd like to test her skills against some of the others, she''d entered herself into the Triathalon. Unlike the acting thing, this was sure to be much more entertaining... and fulfilling... Waiting for her turn, she got onto the diving block when given the signal. She stood there, like several others waiting for the 'ready, set, go'. On the first commannd, she bents down, grabbing the block and tensing her legs... pulling back on the diving block would prepare her for a further launch into the water. At the wistle, she was gone...
She knew she wasn't the fastest swimmer around, but compared to some, she was pretty good. She had grown up in the rain village, after all, and as many knew... it had plently of water to practice in. Energy surged through her as she kicked her feet, making white, fioamy bubble appear all around as her arms formed in long stroaks. Freestyle swimming tended to be the fastest, and most knew this... after all... no one would bec aught dead doing a back stroke in a race like this... unless it was required by all to do so...

Focusing on the dry land ahead, Sakeme made sure to keep her breaths full and steady, though her pace was making them shallower, causing her to have to come up for air more often. Almost there... almost there... then... I can run... yay... Oh yes, the ethusiasm flew through her... never touching... Nha, she liked being out there while she could... she just still had some old roots totake care of... Her lazyness would be something she needed to get rid of, completely, though she'd been very good about it lately... Ever since the kid came in to her life... Huh...

Pulling herself out of the water as soon as she'd tagged the spot to mark her time, she quickly grabbed herself a towel and wiped off the streams of liquid running down her body. Sure there were still drops left and stuff, but she didn't mind them as she put the shorts and tank top on over her swim suit. She'd missed water, a lot, and though of this as running after standing in the rain. She loved the rain.
Jogging down the pathways, that had almost as much gravel on it as it did dirt, she lept her back straight and her breathing paced... and tried to not look up or else be blinded by the sun. She still had a bit of a ways to go before she could start getting really excited... after all, the third portion of the race would test her ability to control chakra... soemthing that nagged at her for a while. Sure, she was alright... but it annoyed the heck out of her how she couldn't keep up with the others... She wasn't going to specify when she said 'others'. Those people knew who they were.

Lowering her head to the glare of the light, she enjoyed it's warm caress on her skin before putting her mind back where it belonged... focused on the race. She could already feel the burn in her lungs, as well as gain the sense of 'I've-been-running-for-a-long-time, but-don't-know-how-long'. Shaking out of it, or trying to anyways, the girl kept going... She had to look ahead, keep her thoughts on the finish line... if it was indded a line... for all she knew it could be a finish circle on a mountian...
Almost as if she'd prayed and been answered, the third part of the race came up in front of her. It wouldn't be long now... she could already feel the chakra inside her body swelling up, pleading to be used... Keep running... you're almost there;... and damn anyone who tries to keep you from your goal... Why the heck am I talking to myself...?Feeling the now hot breeze through her almost dried hair, she made a final sprint to where the third portion of the race would take place.

Pushing the chakra into her feet, Sakeme made her jump onto the nearest obstacle wall thing. For this portion, touching the ground was against the rules. She could only be right sdie up when going over something like a pond... something she needed chakra to do. Making sure she was quick on her feet, she nimbly sprinted across the surfaces of the walls around her, jumping and catching herself with a chakra coated hand if she had to. Heh... doing stuff like this was fun... almost too fun. She smirked with a glint of actual happiness in her eyes. It was nice to gte out and have some fun, for once... She felt like most of her time was all work and no play now... not that she had much play before... Before was mostly nap time...

Sakeme almost felt like a lemur... almost. Jumping from one wall to another, sprinting across a pond or two, clinging to the ceiling of various overhangings. This was all a game for her... and it should be... after all, if you couldn't think of it as something fun... it bacame a total bummer in the end. She didn't care if she won or lost, but as soon as she saw that finish line... she booted it there... no more playing around, though it was fun enough for her. Smiling slightly, she skidded to a stop and smiled, still a bit out of breath, but other than that... she was great. She went off to do a bit of pacing to cool off, after all... it was bad for you to just sit down after a hard work out...

Raisuke would then come up on his only real obstacle. There seemed to be a somewhat large canyon blocking the path of the race. It looked to be far to wide to just leap across it. But there was a catch it seemed. This path was laid out to purposely test the shinobi skills of the race participants. There was a ledge that he would have to walk across upside down to get to the other side. And if he fell.. he would probably die. This was a sick and demented way to test skill for just a stupid race. Was this Lord Tsuchikage's doing? Either way Rai had to do it, to prove to himself that he could. If he fell, he would survive by some divine intervention, right? He gulped and applied the chakra to the bottoms of his feet. He would be moving at a fast paced walk, he was afraid he would lose control and fall if he tried to run across. He concentrated hard on his feet until he reached the other side of the canyon. Then he flipped down and panted some. Wiping the sweat from his forehead. He hoped that didn't put him behind the other competitors. Then he just took off on the path again. He knew he didn't have time to stand around and worry about being behind or he would become even more behind the pack.

He was back on the path for a little while before he saw most of the opponents on a ponds edge. Then it was like someone lit a fire under Rai's a**. Because he got a sudden jolt of energy. Lunging forward he was to the waters edge in no time. He actually made it in time to pass a few of them. But he didn't get anywhere near first. And at that he was instantly disappointed in himself. It was... shameful. He kind of just hung his head and turned to walk off. He would make his way to the next event now. He wasn't sulking or anything of the sort. He just was at a loss for words on his performance.

The next event wasn't that far off at least. It was a foot race to get to the next area pretty much. Rai had lined up at the starting line already. The thing about a triathlon is that they didn't really get much time to rest at all. When he heard the firing of the starting gun he took off. He didn't need shunshin for this, because most of those others would have used most of their chakra on the last event to stay far enough ahead of him. That was the good thing about not using jutsu. He was almost at the lead from the very start of the race. There were a few that were using up the last of their chakra reserve to stay ahead of him. But that was just amusing. Because they wouldn't be able to stay there for long.

He was thinking about how easy this was compared to walking upside down on that ledge. Afterall he was pulling ahead of the leader already. The raw speed thing was something that he had no problem with. He knew the next thing he was going to have to deal with was swimming though. That might serve to be a little bit more of a problem then this. Because he knew that he would be distracted. With his water affinity, the water would make him calm and collected. So much that it would make him just want to kick back and relax. That was something that would prove to be a hindrance most likely.

Raisuke had crossed the finish line in first place on that foot race. But this one.. may prove to be more of a problem. He would have to use his upper body strength in a swimming race. He didn't really take the time to condition himself as far as muscle mass went. He was more for resilience and speed. Like in battle he tried to avoid an enemy and then strike his weak points.. maybe he should have worked on his strength a little more. Being bulky would help here more than just being fit. All the racers here would even look at him funny for even willingly taking place. He would have killed for his sensei's physique right now. But he would have to just work with what he had at the moment. As the signal came, he dove in for the start.

Raisuke had been doing better then he thought in this one. Pulling ahead of several of the various opponents he had. Maybe being bulky slowed them down in the water? He just concentrated on his fluid motion. He felt as if the water was just passing through him. Like he was a part of a flowing current. And before he knew it, he was to the end and the race was over. Along with the entire triathlon. He had taken third overall. It was kind of a way to stroke his pride. But that first race.. he knew he could have done so much better. As he would leave.. he contemplated jutsu training. Ninjutsu was what gave ninja their name after all. Maybe he would talk to his sensei or some of his other acquaintances for a little assistance on this. He would get bored out of his mind doing it alone.

Karnage sunk his feet into the ground as he prepared for signal to start. 'So, this is a kind of mad dash, right?' the voice questioned, bored seeing as he would have very little to do with this procedure. Karnage didn't see it as a mad dash. If it was going to be a mad dash then Shadow would be the man for this. No. This was strategy. This was a challenge of mettle over speed. finding the best route, planning the next move within quarters of a second, analysis of a situation well before reaching it. This was his type of race.
The marker went off, and immediately he bolted from the starting line and leap on to a nearby wall, darting at the same speed only this time parallel to the ground. Dotting past obstacles as he saw them in his path ahead, having his body prepared for the actions needed to flawlessly move around them.
