Very good choice. Warning: This manga contains blood, violence, gore, alcohol use, and sex. Now I get it! Thank you. So for example if you choose accuracy you're not strong but at least you always hit two. However you can upgrade the risky way and you might attack 4...but you can also attack at 1 point. Very interesting. Totally approved. And once in the fight there's a tie then you can choose to escape or continue.
So...to make it round numbers. Let's make it 10 HP and 40 students(if it's ok with you! ^_^). You can recover 5 HP every time you kill one or one joins your crew.
In order to prevent god modding I suggest making a list of 40 weapons. That way you choose from find at random one of them. Of course if you choose the cooler weapons at first and your enemy kills you he gets the weapons and you're left with the lame ones unless you encounter him again. twisted
Preventing god modding 2: How many weapons can you carry? I mean imagine a student walking around with 20 weapons... rolleyes
Also do you want to make it even more realistic? I mean include sleeping, eating and general that zone is going to be dangerous advices, or we just include that as text in the roleplaying?

you know, this manga reminds me of gladiators in ancient rome......their creation marked the degradation of roman society

I think the roman empire was killed because of decadence, after glory they had too much power and they just laid back.
Gladiators tend to remind me of bullfights...how cruel and barbaric a crowd can get...pretty primitive but interesting...
Like in the book the Lord of the Flies. For those of you who haven't read it, there are movies too ( the old and new version) and it's about some kids who are travelling and their plane crashes at an apparently deserted island and they have to organize themselves withouth adult's supervision.

@Jin: Heheh I thought the exact same thing.
@Naia: 40 sounds fine they had around 42 students in the class, but close enough.
A list of 40 weapons sounds good. They'll only be in name since your real attack is the number generator, but you rp the actions with the weapons. I think I'll make some of the weapons have special abilities. (raising attack or increasing chance of running away etc)

Yes, more realistic would be good....I just got an idea. How about eating and sleeping recovers 1 hp but you have to roll the dice to find out if you get away with eating and sleeping or get attacked by another classmate. You increase the chance of getting away with it if you have friends.
As for the general zone...how about rolling the 6 sided dice to see if you made it out in time. If you roll a 1 then you didn't make it and your collar explodes. All others you made it just fine.
There was also a lot of symbolism in lord of the flies. How appealing dictators look before you realized the mistake. The downfall of a democracy.

it's a cycle.
when democracy becomes corrupt and paralized by the red tape
the people need someone more decisive, then comes the tyrant.
he rarely shows himself as he is, hands dripping with blood , eyes filled with hate. but as the hero of the people, their great new leader that will wash awy the old, dead hand of the previous law and usher in a new better one, or so the people think.
a whole book was dedicated to this process, it ia called the
day of the tyrant, but it is almost 30 years old and didn't look like it would be famous

I'm sure you've also come across that choice where they gave you the references of candidates to choose for president, and there's the third one with almost no previous incidents, no public scandals, no alcohol and likes for animals and so... and if you choose him you've chosen Hitler.
@Vin 5 weapons is realistic enough since you have a bag.
Just one HP? I would make it 2 HP. Otherwise it seems fine I'm totally for rolling the dice to decide it! twisted
The proposal for the zone seems perfect to me.
Even more realistic, apart from the zone can you have accidents? Like falling over a hole, or cutting yourself with a branch while escaping...well I mean everyone RP his own accident ( being realistic, no zombie invasions if possible stare ) when you roll the dice to decide if you keep walking/find aggressive student/find friend/have an accident.
