Some people settle for the typical thing Livin' all their lives waitin' in the wings It ain't a question of 'if', just a matter of time
Before I move to the front of the line.
I AM EPIC! scream   And all I need is half a chance A second thought, a second glance'll prove I've got whatever it takes;
To stand out.

This s**t REALLY pisses me off. After school today, I was sitting in my mom's car, waiting to make a right hand turn onto the main road of my town. I'm waiting patiently for an opening when this a*****e in a minivan pulls up next to me and completely blocks my view of the oncoming traffic. So, what do I do? I pull up a little farther so I can see around him. What does he do? He pulls up. Okay a** wipe, you can see perfectly fine to make a left turn, you don't need to pull up. Well he makes his turn and I see that I have a very small opening that I can make, so I lay the pedal down and make my turn, but as I did so I squeaked the tires. Asdfjakjke. Well, that pissed me off, so I drove 35 all the way home. *Speed limit is only 25.*

Egads, I know what that's like! The turns at my work are like that, only instead of one lane on our left to look trough, we have three. @_@ And sure enough, just as I'm trying to find an opening, a damn VAN with 90% TINTED windows pulls up and I have to wait for him to figure out what he wants to do or the light to turn. Bastards.
Lemme see if I can't make you feel better with a traffic story of my own. Okay, so I'm driving home on a side road because it's quicker than the main road, despite having about seven more stops on the way home. There's openings to subdivisions and such - three way stops to allow traffic from the main road to divert off.
I pull up to one of the intersections, wait for the traffic to clear so I can go. No one was at the other two stops at the time, so I could go immediately. Someone was coming out from the subdivision was stopped so the person turning off could come in. When the way was clear, I started going.. and so did he. I slammed on my brakes. It was supposed to be MY turn to go - I got to the stop signs first.
Aaaaanywho. The guy driving was apparently caught off guard that I was trying to go when I could, instead of following the rules himself. HE SHOOK HIS DAMN FINGER AT ME. Seriously. Had me stewing for WEEKS, and even now still is enough to upset me. I know the exact intersection, the colour of the truck, and the colour of the crochety old man's white hair. >.>; And I was in the right... and he chided ME. Bastardbastardbastard.

*tries to imagine you, of all people, getting a finger shaken at and simply can not do it.* rofl heart
Old people that drive scare me. Within the last say...three months here, there have been so many accidents caused to old people. One guy drove into the side of a restaurant. Another old lady ran over like three people and hit a bunch of cars in the grocery store parking lot. Seriously. I say after you turn 50, or something, you should have to retake your drives test over every three or fours years.

Yeah, the absurdity of the whole situation makes me laugh, but it still upsets me. He wasn't in the right. -shrug- I think that will always be my best traffic story ever. XD
I have more traffic horror stories about me almost being run over just being in my own lane and people cutting me off merging into my lane. -grumble- I hate that intersection, but I ALWAYS have to go through it to get to my work. -shudder-
I concur that people are insane everywhere. And that people should take mandatory driving tests after 40. It could be free of charge, but if you get an answer wrong, you have to sign up at a driver's education class (which could have a registration fee, or be at a local school with teenagers), and until you get the test correct, you lose your license. I think the majority of the crazy driving is learned at a young age from younger people watching older people get away with traffic violations and inconsiderate behaviour.

*nodnod* There was one kid in my drives education class who kept getting yelled at for not keeping both hands on the wheel when he turned, but he's been driving for a few years. I completely trusted him because I knew the kid was smart, and wasn't a jackoff.
And it's not so much the violations, it's their reaction time and their train of thought that tells them that, "Oh I'm older so I have the right of way." Also the fact that some can't see well enough do properly drive but if the government tries something like that people will make a huge stink about it because we're discriminating against them. No we ******** aren't! They're old, they can't see well, and they can't react fast enough. Thus they can't drive.
Also, on a side note, would you please please please please ban Mini already?
