She sat down and spun around in the chair at her desk, balancing a ruler on the palm of her hand. "Not really. Thanks, though, havn't heard that in years. You're actually a good kid, even for sayin' that."

"Uh-huh." She dropped the ruler to the floor, reached over and picked up a hat, putting it on over her eyes and leaned back in the chair. "Havn't slept well lately, might catch up on some now."

"Alright." Julian said. He picked up the books and placed Lillian on top of the stack of books in his arms. He walked away.

Zai looked slightly from under her hat at him walking away. Man.... She sighed, breathing out slowly. Wanna do right by that kid, just don't wanna be right. Don't wanna care about that kid, but it's hard not to. Kid's gone through alot, can't let 'em end up with a bad life... She bit her lip, damn. Appearing asleep, it actually took quite a while before she finally drifted off into unconsciousness.

Julian leaned against a wall in a hallway. He picked up the first book and read the title out loud to himself with some effort. He opened the book and began to read.

the cat at Julians side made a purring sound, then a quiet voice said from the other side of the hall. " good book." Tech had at some point sat slightly to the side and across from Julian. he was still as his normal older form, his eyes closed and his head leaning back against the wall. with no place to realy be he had wondered around, ending up back here. against his normal attitude he hadnt realy thought about talking to anyone.. just wanted to talk.

he just shruged slightly and flexed his hand. Tech did a double take as he looked at the boy, frowning slightly as he said in a quiet voice. " you met a girl with white hair and gold eyes around here... mabye around your age?"

Tech let out the breath he had been holding, wanting smile at his own foolishness. the little vampire hadnt been this way then, with luck she was far from him. if she even thought he was thinking of something she would bother him mercilusly. stretching he drew the boys attention to the book, saying quietly. " it is a good book, hope you enjoy it."
when the boy looked back again, Tech was gone.

Julian sighed. "I just wonder what it would be like if people were all just average. No powers, no werewolves, no vampires." He said quietly to himself. He started to read from the gem book again.

Zai woke up, still dead tired, hardly even being able to open her eyes. She lazily reached across her desk, turned on her cd player at top volume suddenly. Out came screaming the song Repetition of Hatred by Dir en Grey. She kept her head down, singing along softly, unheard in the blasting music, taking her time in getting up.
