He handed her the blood soaked handkerchief, which, oddly had an awful scent imbedded into it, the smell of something decaying. "Terribly sorry about that."

Mahi put it into a random portal. "I have to be careful about these things. If Azrael smells blood, he'll track down, kill and eat its source, and even my father, a god, fears his blade. So I don't want that to happen, obviously." She paused. "Hmmmm... So what were we doing, again? I lost track."

"It wouldn't be the first time someone would want to kill me and take my fluids and organs." Caleb retorted, putting the broken beaker on the the Bunsen burner. "Melting the subject down to first separate all of the elements by their specific heat."

Mahi paused. "Wow. That must've been hard. I would hate being like my mom, she has about twenty nations after her throat. But they're all in different universes, so it isn't THAT bad..." Mahi paused. "I wonder; how can you tell the temperature of the subject, and its melting point? Most thermometers don't go to four digits."

"Trial and error, essentially." Caleb looked to the glassware. "I can trained myself to estimate the temperature, and where it plateaus and when it starts to raise again, which will allow me to obtain the pure compound or element and be able to get rid of the waste which might have others also in it."

"Well I was hoping someone else was doing something slightly more interesting, but oh well." She said with a laugh. "we could go swim in the lake." She said thinking of things to do.
((It is your RP chetalis, make a twist. how about a giant monster attacking the school, or an army of humans who think the students/faculty are a threat to humanity, or a kidnapping, or something grand like that.))

[[For Azrael, that would make sense, since his home is practically a tomb of dead men's bodies... that he's eaten. Though nobody knows it.]]

"Alchemy takes two things, patience and perfection." Caleb looked at the beaker, then, his pale slender fingers touched the glass for a brief moment, and he took them off the glass.

Mahi paused. "Oh! Are you guessing from heat transfer, how hot the glass is?"

"Exactly." Caleb looked at his fingers that touched the glass, which they were already turning a damaged red.

"I have before." Too many times before... Caleb took out another beaker and poured the melted contents into it and put the beaker back onto the burner.
