"There's a lot of interesting things here," Lin grinned thinking about the sort of people who lived here, "Well, at least to me it is. There's always someone to talk to, or someone to ask questions or just watch."
They were almost there, of course with a quick walk or a long stride or a normal walk for an elf, it didn't take that long.

As they approached the barracks, the door opened and Elros stepped out. His cool blue eyes were expressionless once more, as they usually were, and he seemed quite serious as he stepped out and towards the forest.
"Elros!" Arwen called out, waving. "Come see! We have a new person if Ulrich says he can stay!"
Elros glanced over at the three of them, then looked back at the forest, and came over to join them.
"I really must get out there to relieve Lord Aragost," he said stiffly as he joined them. "It's past my time already."

Lin didn't realize that Elros was late, then again she didn't know exactly when the shift changes occurred. She smiled a bit looking up at him and nodding at that.
"Oh... okay," Lin told him, "Beren is going to be staying a few days anyways since Ulrich won't be back for a while. So you can talk to him another time."
It wouldn't be nice to keep Aragost waiting.

Beren looked up at Elros, fidgeting slightly under the much taller man's expressionless stare.
Elros nodded. "Then I shall see you all later," he said crisply; and he turned and headed back towards the forest.
Arwen smiled up at Beren. "Don't mind him, he's just antisocial," she said cheerfully. "The others aren't like him, they're all talkative."

"He's not anti-social, he just has work at the moment," Lin protested.
Elros? Anti-social? To her the two just did not compute, to her Elros was far from anti-social, sure he got serious when work had to be done, but what person didn't?
Well okay Halmir doesn't count on that matter.
Or Elberon....
That was besides the point in her mind, ti was simply just that Elros had other things on his mind.

Arwen giggled. "He's anti-social, Lin, he always has been, and he never talks to anyone except you, Aragost, and Ada. He only ever talks when he has to, never more."
Beren smiled at the girls. "Well, that's not necessarily a bad thing," he pointed out. "After all, it is possible to talk too much."
Arwen giggled. "That's what Mama says."

Lin thought about it, it was hard to believe that she was one of three people that he would talk to outside of work.
"There is a fourth, you forgot Sir Valdemar," she told Arwen before adding, "And talking isn't bad.. unless you forget to breath while doing so."

"Or unless you're Elberon," Arwen giggled. "He still won't say a word around Shael, he's still so scared of her!"
Beren looked confused. "I suppose I'll be meeting them at some point?" he asked.
Arwen nodded. "Yes but not now, later - first the barracks!" And she grinned and linked her arm with his and started off towards the barracks once more.

"They work in the stables," Lin explained to Beren as the two made their way to the barracks again.
Even with Shael in a good mood it was a pity to hear that Elberon wasn't himself around her still. Even though Lin wasn't overly fond of the questioning, she didn't like to talk to Elberon. Besides she could question him back.

"Not Shael so much anymore," Arwen shook her head. "Ever since she and Adonai are getting married she only comes out once in a while, Elberon has started taking care of the mares, with Vanya's help."
She put one finger to her lips. "But Ada said that he was going to talk to Ulrich about finding someone else to fill the position, so that Elberon and Vanya can stick with their own duties ..."
She looked up at Beren. "Are you good with horses and being a healer for them?"
Beren's eye twitched, but he nodded. "Yes," he murmured, "but ..."
"Good!" Arwen smiled brightly. "Maybe you can do that, then!"
She held the door of the barracks open for them and grinned at them, waiting for them to go inside.

Lin noticed the twitch, it was kind of like the way her Daddy twitched sometimes when something bothered him. Curiousty still in full swing she just had to ask.
"But?"
Since Arwen had interrupted, she wanted to know what was the problem with looking after horses.

Beren blinked and smiled down at Lin. "Nothing," he murmured softly. "I want to do whatever I can to help here. That's all."
And he stepped into the barracks and waited for the girls to follow him in to show him where they were going.

She didn't understand, but she left it at that willingly. Stepping into the dark hallway, she looked down both ends thoughtfully.
"Where should we go first?"
In other words who wouldn't mind a visit at this time.

Arwen grinned and followed the others inside. "Why not Halmir and Arthael?" she suggested. "It was Timaeus's birthday yesterday and we didn't visit them, they'd like it if we did, I bet."
Then again, Halmir was always up for visitors.

Lin's eyes brightened, she had forgotten about that, and she didn't have anything for Timaeus, well that was a bit of a disappointment. However she was always willing to visit the family, especially Halmir.
"Let's go then!" she agreed to it, and thinking about it she realized something about Beren, "Oh! I just realized... you've probably met them, I think they were on that hunt when you were brought here. So it should be really neat to meet them again."
