Anthony looked over at the Gunny. "Haha, I see you picked them up. Only use them when in need."
Sitting in a pool of thoughts, the gravity just changed. The horizon dipped above the brim of the Pelican.
"Ok boys, up and attem. We're touching down in 5."

The engines of the Unyielding Reverence flared blue as powerful anti-gravity devices held the gargantuan vessel aloft. The Cruiser altered its heading and turned toward the Coast.
Lipton was watching from the new Crow's Nest. Or as he preferred to call it, Rat's Nest. Fox Hole 2. He sat in the observation room and watched the night-vision cameras follow Pelican ECHO Three-Three, which carried Karr and his team off toward the coast. His brow furrowed as one of the Covenant ships broke off from the main group over Voi and assumed a similar heading.
"Rat's Nest to Bravo-One-One-Six, be advised you have a CCS-class cruiser moving to your position. We haven't heard anything from the Elites so we can't be sure this is one of their ships. Stay sharp."
The launch of the pods was always an exhilarating sensation. Each pod was shaped like a coffin. The exterior as dark as the void itself. The interior was brightly lit and surprisingly comfortable to a Sangheili frame. Each Orbital Insertion Pod was stored in its own firing tube. There were a dozen or so of these pods along the bottom and the top of a cruiser. These pods would be launched from the bottom. He felt the latch release more than he heard it, and the firing of the engines was always a joy for any warrior. The Pod left the hull of the Cruiser at the same time as the others. Everything was precise. The feeling of gravity gnawing away at his stomach made him hungry for battle. He and his brothers were prepared. The faint trail of plasma caused by each pod etched lines in the sky. The drop pods impacted deep within the coastal jungle. Upon impact a timer began, ten seconds later the door was ejected from the frame and the Sangheili warrior stepped into the night.
He opened the Commando group's battlenet.
"Warriors, engage your active camouflage. Reveal yourselves only when needed!"
His tactical display showed a number of confirmations and he phased out of sight along with the handful of Commandos scattered about him. The active camouflage currently used by Sangheili special operations forces was significantly better than the Covenant counterpart. They had upgraded the design and left the old overheating kind for the Brutes. None of the Sangheili had ever given the Brutes equal equipment. They were not worthy of it. The camouflage was better and they were literally invisible. The only evidence that they were there was the crunching of the grass under their armored feet.

The Pelican, touched down, they all hobbled out, and it made its way out in the darkness.
The 4 marines sat huddled in a position.
"Ok, were taking up scouting positions on that hill. Lets move."
They trekked off. Making it to the hill, they lay belly down, and took up firing positions.
Pointing his rifle at the door, he found that both of the guards had been taken out. Then suddenly, his COM cracked to life. Lipton's message played in his ears, when one of the boy's from Easy motioned to the Sky. A Covenant Battleship was hovering just overhead. And from the looks of the wounds, Elites.
Anthony took aim at a Brute, about ready to howl from the site of his fallen comrades and fired. The round went through its head and out the back into the ground. it fell to the ground with a thud.
"Tango down. Gunny, gimme a target."

"Commander. There are others here. A Brute has fallen. Judging from the wound it was made by a human weapon."
Anso tensed slightly. While the Humans with the Arbiter had promised that they would do all they could to keep the rest of their kind from bringing injury upon the Sangheili he still did not entirely trust them. He accessed the UNSC E-Band, which they had been graciously made aware of by their close contact with the human survivors on Delta Halo.
"Humans. Take care at what you fire on. You have allies in the field."

Anthony, before even hearing the Gunny, blasted another Brute who was right next to what looked like a generator.
"Tango down." He said. And traced another who was patrolling the area.
He clicked his COM and spoke into it slowly. "Any UNSC or Alien units within the area, give your position now, we'll support covering fire from the top of the ridge. Engage with long range weapons only, repeat, long range weapons, no close range. Mark by flare when area clear."

Winter slammed himself belly first into the ground, extracting his own sniper rifle, the scope would work well another for the now designated spotter. He'd done this before, he knew the basics. For now he'd leave his true gear within its bad. They'd move quickly it seemed. Coming to the lesser magnifications he scanned the battle field, Elites, now an ally. Well he wouldn't bother with taking any anger to them. As they were enemies or once were he had always respected them. They were loyal, they were strong, and they had courage beyond most men. Most of all they were efficient.
(I know this is halfway power playing but I truly hope you don't mind. If so I shall fix it.)
"Check your nine o'clock, brute coming from cover, I think in.. Three.. Two.. One.." Anthony took the shot, the brutes head exploding in a blood mess. Perfect.
"It seems sir we have some comrades," once a formidable enemy was now a great ally. The elites and the marines had their own arguments but in truth Winter was starting to enjoy them. Now it hadn't been long that they were with them but he'd stumbled across several not at gunpoint. They were a interesting race and hopefully the two would grow into a harmonic alliance.

"Human, we will enter the camp quickly, quietly, and slay all who stand in our path. Our objective is the pack Chieftain and the Forerunner relic. We shall remain hidden behind our camouflage and will use our blades to silence these fools. Long range weapons would give us away. I know you are eager to avenge the invasion of your home world, but there will be a time for that soon enough. I shall ask only once, do not interfere."
The Commandos moved through the bush at a startlingly rapid pace, and yet they were almost completely silent. They were highly trained and distinguished warriors. They would accomplish their mission, kill as many Brutes as they could, and leave before the Pack could regroup. The perimeter of the camp was guarded by motion sensitive auto-turrets. Fortunately they had not been programed by a Sangheili war-engineer and they were unable to detect the cloaked warriors.
The Brute camp was set up as they usually were, with the Chieftains quarters located around the point of interest with other hovels built radiating out from it. There were a few roaming guards, and many of them were talking to each other in the Brute language. The Covenant translation software was impressive. It was, like most equipment, based on Forerunner designs, and was incredibly more sophisticated than its human counterpart. The software allowed any species to speak in their normal language, whatever that may be, and be understood by the listener, regardless of the speaker's language. While the Brutes were closer in anatomy to the humans, they were unable or unwilling to learn their language, where as the Sangheili had highly complex vocal cords that allowed them to create the same sounds even without the "necessary tools".
Anso and his Commandos moved quietly through the camp until they reached the Chieftain's tent. They quickly silenced the guards outside and hid their bodies before slipping inside. When the entire team was assembled they slew the interior guards while the Chieftain prayed over the Relic. Half of the Commando unit turned to guard the tent and were under the command of Sub-Commander 'Bruad. Anso himself stepped forward and deactivated his Active Camouflage, placing the shimmering energy blade against the Chieftain's neck. The Brute was angered, but not stupid. It knew that it had nowhere to run.
"So, the Elites were not disposed of on Halo. What a shame."
"Your kind fell easily beneath our blades."
"The Elites are a useless breed. We will be the heralds of the Great Journey. All the heretics will be purged in the holy fires."
"I have heard the gospels Chieftain, but they are false. The Prophets lead you toward your doom."
"As your Arbiter does for you. Why have you come? To kill me and steal this artifact?"
"Yes. And No."
"No games Elites."
"I offer none. Speak and you may live for a time. Remain silent, and I will kill you."
"I know I will reach paradise."
"What does this relic do? Why is it so important that the Prophet of Truth would send a pack to retrieve it?"
"I shall say nothing."
"Are you sure?"
"The gates of Paradise are waiting for me."
"No they are not. I ask again, what is this relic?"
"I am not so easily beaten Elite."
"The Parasite is on this world. Perhaps I should remove your tongue and eyes and leave you to them."
"You lie."
"The human settlement of Voi has fallen to the Flood. Our ships are burning the infestation as we speak."
The Brute was still for a time, then stood to face the Commander. The Chieftain was unarmed, but was an equal match for a Sangheili warrior in terms of strength. He wore dark power armor and was missing an eye. Anso knew this Brute. Ohm-saht. He had been a temple guard before the split. The two had been close to being friends. Or at least as close to friends as a Brute and a Sangheili could be.
"Why have you sided with the Heretics? I know you were as devout as I."
"I still am. Only I have seen the Truth. I read the words in the Archives on Halo. I have listened to the Oracle. Our religion is a lie. The Prophets would lead us all to slaughter."
"Your soul is lost. The Great Journey will begin once the Prophet completes his blessed task! Not even the Demon and the Heretical Arbiter can stop him."
"Chieftain, you will die if you do not answer my question."
"I was left behind because I did not completely hate your kind. The Prophet felt that I could be of more use here, rather than around him. All the other packs are gathered about him, our entire Fleet. You will not stop the Great Journey."
"It will never begin. Now, what is the relic?"
"A sacred urn. A sacrifice to ensure that the Forerunner became gods."
Anso glanced at the construct behind the Brute and chuckled.
"That is no urn. It is a Codex. I saw a similar device on Halo."
"No, the Codex was within the Urn."
"Why are you telling me this?"
"I know that you would discover this eventually, and in the hopes of returning you to the true path."
"I will not be led to suicide. My honor has been tarnished once before, I shall not sully it again."
"Then it would seem I am at my end."
"Yes."
"Is this heresy worth it Anso?"
"I follow the blessed light. The Gods have shown us the path, yet the Prophets will not follow it. Instead they follow in the footsteps of the Forerunner."
"The Forerunner are the gods."
"No, they are not."
With that, Anso severed the Brute Chieftain's head from his shoulders and let the body go limp. His mind came back to the tactical situation at hand and he returned to the field.
"Warriors, secure all Forerunner artifacts and be ready to move. The Brutes will soon notice the death of their chieftain."
When the Forerunner artifacts were safely within Sangheili hands, the commander activated his camouflage and opened the UNSC-E band once again.
"Humans, we have accomplished our task. The relic is secure and the brute Chieftain lies dead at my feet. We are preparing to leave and ask that you clear a path."

Three more rounds rammed through the barrel of the rifle and into the furrowed flesh of the Brute's in colored armor. They fell in heaps of bleeding flesh on the soft sand.
Before, Anthony didn't like the message. Having to sit tight while a bunch of aliens did his job... but he honored their code and let them be. But now it was his turn.
"Gunny, open fire." He said, letting off another blast into the neck of a Brute.
"Bravo One One Six to Echo Three Three, cancel EVAC. Repeat: CANCEL EVAC."
Anthony was planning a fresh ride with the Elites.
"Elite leader, you are clear. We left a few targets for you. Have your transport ship pick up at location marked by a flare. If you do not mind, I would like to gain your company, and meet face to face. We're by the ridge south entrance where you came in. You should be able to find us."
He quickly grabbed a HE-87 Standard Flare, smacked the end on his chest plate and tossed it slightly left of him. It began to sizzle a soft orange glow.
Now, they waited.

"Understood human."
Anso opened the Commando team's battlenet and spoke clearly into it.
"The humans have given us our opening, we shall take advantage of it. Our rally point is the ridge to the south. There will be a location marked by a flare, find it and await the Phantom."
He received a number of confirmations as the Sangheili Commandos about him went to work making their own way to the rally point, so as to create as little noise and as much confusion as possible. The Camp was in an uproar, there were Uggnoy running about everywhere screaming at the tops of their lungs. He paid no attention to them however. His goal was located above him and to the south.
When he stepped through the perimeter he accessed the COMNET for his Phantoms.
"Mendicant Water and Illuminated Path, prepare for retrieval. Landing Zone designated by an orange human flare."
The reply crackled over the COM.
"A human flare? Understood. We are enroute."
Anso nodded and continued on his path. Two minutes later he was in the clearing with his assembled team, still under the guise of active camouflage. He stepped forward and deactivated his camouflage generator, phasing into view. His armor was white and silver, the armor of an Ultra. They were the field commanders, who answered only to the Zealots and the council. On his hip was the hilt of an energy blade. His eyes were dark, though without the protective lens covering they would be a warm shade of amber.
"Humans, show yourselves, for our Phantoms shall soon arrive."

Anthony nodded when the Elites came into side.
"Marines comin out!" He shouted, and raised his position from the grassy knoll. He left his rifle down on the ground, undid the clip from his pistol, he dropped it to the ground.
"Marines, Clips out and open."
They did as they were told.
"Hello Commander. Phantom en route?" he asked him.
He extended his hand to the Elite. "My name is Anthony Karr, 301st Strike Division; Alpha Sniper Squad. Our units are about to move into the hole. But we can talk more about that later Commander. May I ask if you have the Relic? I have no intention of keeping it if an ally has it in their hands." He gave a warm smile to the Elite.

Cease fire? ********! Winter grumbled within his mind, this was truly annoying. But he awaiting, following the path of the guarding brutes and the sleeping little orange blobs of the utterly useless and annoying grunts. Sighing to himself he heard the AI chuckle, she seemed to take amusement of this?
Then it came, Gunny open fire. "With pleasure," he answered as he came upon his first target. Unknowing and utterly stupid, the brutes weren't in the area of brains just brute force. Its gray mass of a head was no more its little metal skull cap proved useless. Just some ornament on its head. Purple blood fell onto the ground, the second brute fell like the former. A path was being cleared swiftly.
A ride? That was an interesting thought and Winter excepted it. As soon as the elites came he was up not at all uncomfortable with a sniper rifle without a magazine, dangling from a free hand. Something was just proven by the Elites words, if they could be invisible so could they. The ODST watched. What he really wished for to be on board an alien craft. Usually there was to much shooting and death to have time to search over the great technology. So clean so crisp.
The soldier watched the sky, looking like a tree limb covered in camo, mask smothered with a see through camouflaged mask.

The other Sangheili commandos disengaged their active camouflage and appeared about the clearing. They were various sizes but all about eight feet tall. There were twenty Sangheili warriors in all. The commander eyed the hand curiously then shook it, as he had often seen humans do before.
"Karr..."
Anso gave a slight "hrmph" out of respect. Names were held in the highest regard in Sangheili culture. All Sangheili had a given name, then an adult name given to them after the rite of passage had been completed. All of the Sangheili separatists had dropped the "ee" suffix from their name signifying military service within the covenant. The Commander regarded the human before introducing himself.
"I am Anso Duram. Commander of the seventh Spearhead Commando unit."
To give his name to the human was also an honor, though he doubted the human would understand. As he spoke the two Phantoms floated over the treetops, their telltale hum alerting the Sangheili warriors to their presence.
"We have the relic, but there is no time to waste. The Prophet of Truth is close to firing the rings. He must not be allowed to continue."
The gravity lifts for the Phantoms activated and the Sangheili Commandos were drawn up into the floating craft.

OoC: Alrighty. I'm just gunna assume that I have a BR55, considering its my best weapon. If you guys could update my profile in your spare time, please do, though!
Sergeant Lukin Hudson and his squad boarded the pelican Warlord . A sort of fiery rage went through. He was ready, ready for combat. Over the COM the pilot called "5 minutes!" Lukin called voer the microphone, "5 mintues and we'll be in the hole, boys! Be ready for anything, our allies are counting on it. His comrades nodded in approval.
In what seemed like 10 seconds, the pelican pulled up and landed near the rally point. Lukin and his men hopped out, positioning themselves for defense. With his battle rifle aimed at nothingness, the Sarge gave the okay and the Pelicans veered off. "Get in fortified positions, boys, be ready!"
Sergeant Hudson waited, on edge, for his allies to arrive.
