Storm shivered as a sudden sparkle of icy coldness shot up her spin. She rubbed her arms, trying to get them warm again. The drow wondered just what was that. Rather, who was that. Storm knew the fingerprint's of power well enough to realized that that was that just was. She also knew that there were very few people who could affect her like that. Most of them were standing in the room in front of her, but two were missing: Michael and Ranu. Storm immedatly crossed off Michael; he'd try to contact her more concretely then just a random pulse of power. So that left Ranu...
Experimentally, she sent her mind down into that old dagger she'd give him all those years ago. Storm caught a glance of a desolate wasteland before she was slammed back into her own body. She was shivering worse then ever. Johnathon noticed, and hugged his wife tightly.
"Are you alright?"
"No! R..."
She started to say his name, then stopped.
"A friend needs my help. I've got to go."
"But..."
"Now!"
And then Storm was gone in a small whuff of displaced air, leaving a very confused Johnathon behind. She found herself shivering in front of Ranu Blackheart, up her knees in loose snow.

50 miles from Ground Zero,
Alaska, United States of America.
Ranu's eyes closed faintly. He was seeing things. What would Storm be doing in a snow storm? He frowned lightly, his eyes half closing. Mortals would be dead by now. He only was because of the fact he was draining his magic in a mostly useless shield. Moving forwards, he felt his legs numbing. He'd always joked about being colder than Michael, but he'd never imagined he'd reveal it so. He tried to move, unable to see straight as he bumped into the dark object. He let out a weak gasp then, because he stopped moving, fell to his knees.

Storm had opened her mouth to say something...but then Ranu took it into his mind to take her out. The air was forced out of her as her friend took them both deep into the ash coloured snow; she wasn't strong enough to support his weight like that, all at once.
"Ugh...Ranu...get...off..."
Storm pushed against his unyielding shoulder, then harder again when he didn't respond.
"Ranu? Can you hear me? It's me, Storm."

Ranu let out a breath, shuddering as he felt his shields fail. He fought to roll off her. "Get out of here while you can, Storm." He whispered, his lips cracking and bleeding as ice broke the skin on them. He let out a last shiver then watched as his shield flickered.

Storm knew radiation storm's when she saw one. It only now occurred to the drow to look however. She cursed herself roundly for this over sight and fought to pull Ranu into a sitting position.
"Not without you, I'm not. Come on then, get up, get up, get up."
Storm couldn't very well teleport him lying down. What would the neighbors think?

auron falls from the ceiling, slamming to the ground in his confusion from the pulse of energy "Be right back" he says, standing and teleporting a couple feet from Ranu and Storm "need a hand, mother?" he says, holding out his right hand as he lifted Ranu with his left arm "damn, man, what happened to you?" he says, grunting as he lifts Ranu onto his shoulder "Let's get out of here"

Storm started to cough, and buried it into her elbow crook. She was shivering helplessly, body already numb and there was an army of men getting to work at excavating her forehead. Storm managed to gasp out:
"Warm. Get him somewhere warm. Away from Michael. Away from Kibo."
The rest of her words were drowned out into a fit of coughing that ended up with her puking blood, bile, and the remains of her lunch onto the ashy snow. She sat on her hands and knees, head hanging just a few centimeters above the stinking pile. Storm closed her eyes tightly, wishing the radiation sickness gone. Of course, it didn't leave, but it seemed to help, just a little.

Michael watched a recording of the Presidential address in office while grey storm clouds loomed over head. The sun had not shone in Washington since his arrival. He laughed slightly, a map spread out before him.
"Now, which continent shall feel my wrath next? Hmm... It's time to move on to bigger game, I need enemies whom Botch could never defeat. Better yet, I need people who have weapons as destructive as my own..."
His finger stopped over 'North Korea.'
"This is going to be fun..."

It was stupid. Ranu knew it but he did it. He gathered what strengh he had left to remove his shield and cover Storm. Unprotected, he weakly gasped. If Auron hadn't held him, he'd have fallen.

Storm muttered something unintelligble, and threw off Ranu's cloak...although it took an effort. She roughly wiped the back of her mouth, and got unsteadily to her feet.
"You need it more then I do, Ranu. I haven't been out here as long as you."
Still, Storm summoned her own power, and drew it up around her like a comfort blanket. It warmed her body, and stove off some of the effects of the radiation poisoning. She passed as much as she didn't need onto Ranu as well, knowing that he would need it perhaps more then she did.

"your both coming with me" auron says, coughing as he teleports the two of them to the patio of a house in Florida "my.......humble......chateau" auron says weakly, placing his hands on both of their chests "May they be Saved" he says calmly, as he purges their bodies of radiation and sucks it into his own body, crying out in pain as he did so

Storm sat for a long, quiet moment, enjoying the fact that she could feel her fingers and toes burning in agony as the nerves came alive again, enjoying the fact that she could breath without inhaling ashy poisons...but as all things must, it came to an end.
Storm bolted up, her 9mm Browning pressing against the side of Auron's head. Oh yes, she had improved her armoury with the times...although not all of it. Quite clearly, the drow growled out between grinding teeth:
"Don't. Ever. Heal. Me. Again."

((figured it was time Auron got something big to show off))
"a....simple.......thank you........would suffice" auron says, falling on the ground after finishing the healing of Ranu "I haven't perfected the technique, so, instead of destroying the poison..........." he says, then going into a coughing fit and hacks up some blood "I am forced to absorb it myself" he says, as his arms begin to turn red from radiation poisoning "don't worry, I have a certain spirit who can heal..........me" he says, his legs starting to shake as he loses consciousness

Storm snarled something unitelligable, and utterly rude. She ignored Auron, and sat fully up in the bed. The drow tucked the hand gun out of sight in the bed clothes, looking over at Ranu. Already, colour was returning to his lips, and he looked less like death.

((historic castle, can't remember where it was, but there's one in Florida, I know there is))
auron awakens a moment later, his arms slowly turning back to normal "seems he's started to work faster than usual today" he says, standing and coughing a couple of times, then sighing "feel free to wander the house, but don't go outside, it looks like hell, since my gardener quit a couple weeks ago" he says, smiling and stretching "not often I get to see a Mushroom Cloud from a nuke, that was an amazing experience"
