The Hokage smiled and nodded to her. "The next technique that I want to show you is a more advanced wood element ninjutsu." explained the Hokage as dEx nodded.

"The technique is called Birth of Dense Woodland. Basically, you create a sapling from the ground. Then it will grow, twist and wind it's way around most solid obstacles to your opponent. When it reaches them it can grab them and hold them in place for you." explained the First as dEx listened to him carefully. The Hokage proceeded to show dEx the hand seals for the technique.

After he went through the seals a few times fairly slowly dEx nodded to the First Hokage. Then she watched him closely as he focused his chakra. The First went fluidily through the hand seals. "Birth of Dense Woodland." he said as he put his hands to the ground. dEx watched in awe as a sapling sprung up out of the ground in between her and the Hokage.

dEx quickly jumped to the side and dived into a thick patch of briar. It wasn't very comfortable, but she wanted to see exactly what this technique could get through. She watched through the briar as the small tree began to grow and stretch out towards her. The tree easily wound its way through the briar and wrapped securely around her arms and legs holding her in place.

dEx found herself wondering if the First might be able to control the briar and make it wrap around her as well. She sighed in relief when the Hokage stopped the technique and the small tree disappeared. dEx tried to carefully climb out of the briars, but still got stuck by a few. She walked over to the Hokage who nodded to her. "Go ahead and give it a try." said the First.

dEx quickly returned the nod as she began to focus her chakra and form the hand seals for this technique. "Birth of Dense Woodland!" she called out. Then she thrust her hands to the ground below her. As she let her chakra flow into the ground she saw the sapling form. Then she continued to fee the sapling with her chakra through the grounds and into its roots.

Soon the small tree was beginning to grow. Then she focused on a rock and had the sapling work its way there. Along the way it had to go around some bushes, rocks and trees. She found it very easy to wind the thin sapling anyway she wished along the path to get to the target. Then she had the sapling wrap around the rock tightly and she looked at the First.

"That was much better than I expected for your first try." said the First with a kind smile. dEx nodded and stopped the technique. The sapling unwound itself and disappeared from view. dEx stood up to look at the First Hokage. She was anxious to see what technique he was going to teach her next. She wondered if there were any good defensive techniques using wood elements.

"Alright. I'll show you two more wood release skills, okay? The next one I want to show you is a strong defensive skill." said the First. dEx smiled and knew that she could never know too many defensive skills especially when going up against someone much stronger than herself. She had always had quite a bit of stamina and she was good at conserving her energy while her opponent wasted theirs.

If she could hold the enemy off she might have a chance to throw them off guard and do some damage as they grew weaker from attacking. "The technique is called Moku Shouheki no Jutsu. Basically this ninjutsu will create beams of wood out of the ground. The beams will come together to create a half spherical barrier to deflect incoming attacks." explained the First.

dEx smiled at the Hokage. This defensive ninjutsu sounded like it would be extremely useful to her. "These are the hand seals that you will need to perform this technique." said the First. He went through the hand seal combination slowly about three times. Finally, dEx was comfortable with it and nodded to him to move on. "This technique might be a bit more difficult for you than the last one." warned the First Hokage.

"First you need to create the right sized beams. Then you need to be able to combine them to form the defensive dome. On top of all that you need to be able to do all of thatl very quickly. Also the defense must be strong enough to hold up to the attack you are trying to block." explained the Hokage. dEx nodded to him as she listened carefully to his advice.

She was certain doing each of these things separately would be difficult enough. Trying to do them all at once would be quite tricky. "I'll now demonstrate the technique for you." said the First. She watched him closely as he gathered his chakra and formed the hand seals. "Moku Shouheki no Jutus!" called out the Hokage. Then the Hokage put his hands down to the ground.

dEx saw many beams of wood appear from the ground. Then they formed around the First Hokage in a dome like shape. She could see how if this technique could stand up to the attacks it would be very much like an ultimate defense. The Hokage stopped the technique and the beams fell away and disappeared. dEx saw that the First was smilng at her and she nodded to him.

"I'll give it a try now." said dEx as she took a deep breath. Then she began to form the hand seals as she carefully focused her chakra. Because of how difficult she knew this technique would be she focused even more carefully than usual. First, she would focus on creating the wooden beams. "Moku Shouheki no Justu!" she called out as she put her hands to the ground.
