itachiruleskonoha is this a fighting guild or can we do stories too?
Forky, think you've misunderstood his question. I think he is asking if this is a guild where you show off some bleach fan-fiction or what not. If that's the case, I don't think the guild has a fan-fiction area since it's a roleplaying guild.

hi...umm...I've read through most, if not all, of the help threads, but I still do not quite get how the battle system works. I get most of the stat allocation information. With a few exceptions, I clearly understand the stat allocation, but how does the actual battling play out? I saw something about dice, but I'm not sure how the dice roll relates to the stats and how all that relates to damage...maybe I missed the correct info page. Could someone link me to the page where this is all explained out?

Uchiha~~Shunketsu hi...umm...I've read through most, if not all, of the help threads, but I still do not quite get how the battle system works. I have answered this question before. Please read the following quoted text.Quote: Starting A Battle And Training?Humbra TsaiLin How training works and how battle starts? Like who is to attack first? Do we display our HP every post. @_@ On Experience/Training: You make training posts. Then, after making posts, you post the amount of training you've done in the Training Report thread. Aradiah, or one of the Crew, chooses the benefits you get from the training. Simple.
They can either give you Stat, Skill, or plain XP, as bonuses. Simple.
Starting A Battle: The person who attacks first is the person who does their attack first. Simple. Someone who is the attacker will do their 1d20 roll, and if the 1d20 roll is higher than the victim's dodge roll, the attacker will make a post that denotes the amount of damage that will be minused from the victim's HP.
So, if you're attacking some with a zanpakutou you're doing a melee attack. Melee accuracy is done by doing a Accuracy Roll with your strength modifier added to it. So that's a 1d20 roll with an added 'base accuracy' along with an added strength mod. Let's say that your character has a Str Mod of +3, and is a level 4 character.
That's a roll of 1d20 +3+4, which is 1d20 +7. Let's say that the roll is '5'. That's then 5+7 = 12. That is the attack roll.
If that attack roll is higher than your opponents 1d20 + Dodge roll, then the attack lands on your opponent. The follow post would be the damage done to your opponent, most probably using the 'random number between # and #' feature.
So, basically, the batlle goes like this:
Post Number: Player/Character~ 'Move', or roll (Roll Value) [Damage Done?] 1: Player 1~ Melee Accuracy Roll (12) 2: Player 2~ Dodge Roll (14) [No Damage To Player 2] 3: Player 2~ Melee Accuracy Roll (16) 4: Player 1~ Dodge Roll (12) [Damage To Player 1] 5: Player 2~ Damage To Minus From Player 1's HP. 6: Player 1~ Melee Accuracy Roll (5) 7: Player 2~ Dodge Roll (14) [No Damage To Player 2]
... And so on, and so forth. However, there are two types of rolls for accuracy that can be changed by being away from your opponent (Agility/Range Accuracy), or in close contact with your opponent (Strength/Melee Accuracy). They're both the same, except for the fact that the 1d20 + Base Accuracy is then added to by either Strength (if melee) or Agility (if ranged). Simple.
You don't have to post your HP in every post. I highly suggest doing so, though, to keep track of the damage done to your character. 3nodding Never give up the fight for justice! 3nodding

thanks! 4laugh
now, i think I get how the battle system kind of works. I found and read some posts about accuracy, so that helps as well.
now, my question is about dodge. I realize that it's based off a 1d20 dice roll, but looking at the Shinigami Stat Sheet help page, it says that everyone starts off with a Dodge Bonus of 10. Then I added on Awr and Agi modifiers and then added the Hohou bonus. If I did everything correctly, I should have like +17 dodge bonus. How does this come into play? Is it a d20 + 17? Because that'd get me like, 37 dodge.
i HAVE read the latest guild update, but I'm still confused since dodge bonus is potentially so much higher than attack bonus, unless I didn't do my attack bonus correctly...i mean, i see my max dodge up at 37 while my max attack bonus(with a zanpakuto) up at 26
here's a copy of my stat sheet so you can see where i get my numbers:
Lv: 1
Hp: 20 + 1 Rp: 10 + 2
Str: 16 (3) Agl: 12 (1) Vit: 12 (1.5) Awr: 15 (2.5) Int: 18 (4) Rei: 15 (2.5)
Attack Bonus: 1d20 + base Melee Atk Bonus: 1d20 + base + 3 Zanjutsu Atk Bonus: 1d20+3+2+base Total Attack bonus: Dodge Bonus: 10 + 4(Skill) + 2(Awr Modifier) + 1(Agl Modifier)
Damage: Zanjutsu: 9 - 20
Skills:
Zanjutsu: 12 Hakuda: 6 Hohou: 10 Kidou: 4
sorry for being so thick-headed redface

If you're still uncomfortable with that amount, though, feel free to invest your points in other skills (like Kidou!) or stats (like pumping up that Reiatsu stat of yours!).

This is probably somewhere obvious, but I couldn't find it. Now that they're are back open, how does one enroll in classes. Do I just need to wait til a new semester starts? Just trying to get a grip on all this.

Naranll This is probably somewhere obvious, but I couldn't find it. Now that they're are back open, how does one enroll in classes. Do I just need to wait til a new semester starts? Just trying to get a grip on all this. You don't need to, per se, enrol in a class. Since you've just joined, and haven't graduated, you're a student. Since you're a student you automatically are in the academy and are allowed to participate in the classes.
The way that most people join a class is by jumping into them. Just jump into them, start posting, and either wait for a sensei to magically appear or go to the thread when a sensei has already appeared.
Dischord-sama and Paradox-sama (the two main teachers) are both very busy people. They stretch themselves and push themselves continuously in order to teach and assist anyone. So patience is a must when trying to jump into a class. smile
So just jump in and have some fun.  heart heart heart heart

Will there be foes in the arc that the students can fight/battle without being killed in one shot?
