he held Niles carefully "you're a cute little guy" he said softly. His speech was getting better but his memory was still shot "what's his name?"
he walked over to her and pulled her in to his arms "he's trying... very hard" he said softly "he wants to remember"

She rested on his chest trying to keep the tears back. She nodded not trusting herself to talk.
He giggled a little happy to be held by his daddy.
"Niels." He smiled watching the effort Maki was putting in.

He sat on the bed next to Maki and kissed his temple. "Yes he is."
He giggled some more and filled the air with the smell and slight warmth of apple pie.

He laid down on his daddys chest and curled up.

"Thats not your fault. That was the surgery. I know you Maki, these kids mean the world to you and you would give anything for them. You'll remember, I know you will." He ran his finger through part of Makis hair.
