Arekku agreed with Thard and headed to the Mossdeep Pokemon Center. As soon as he got his pokemon back he went back out to the shore and stepped into the water, "Alright... Lemme see..." He tossed a pokemon and out came his Mantine, Kenter. He hopped on, "Alright lets dive down to see if there's anything interesting down there, eh?" Kenter nodded and dove down under with Arekku holding onto his back.
He saw a group of Clampearl sitting toward the bottom and a bunch of Wailmer and Luvdisc swimming around, nothing that really interested him. But something caught his attention, a dim light in the distance it was quite further down in the depths of the sea. He had Kenter go up he he could take a deep breath and them had him dive again, Kenter quickly went down into the water, far down. The pressure didn't take long to begin getting to him, he let out a little bit of the air and opened his eyes to see a large group of Chinchou moving along the bottom. Arekku was amazed at the brilliance of the light coming from their antennae. So amazed, in fact, that he accidentally let go of Kenter. The second he noticed was when Kenter had left him and it was inky black Arekku could see the surface but it was too far away for him to get to and too dark for Kenter to find him in time. His lungs were burning with oxygen deprivation. That's when he knew he wasn't going to make it. He closed his eyes, trying to keep his breath to himself.
Arekku passed out. His breath escaping him, water filling his lungs.

The next thing he knew he was laying on the beach coughing up water and sucking down oxygen. He could hear releaved sighs and gasps from people around him and he noticed an older woman kneeling over him. "Well, you're a lucky one, I'll say. If these two pokemon hadn't found you I don't think you wouldn't made it." She pointed to Kenter and a pokemon Arekku din't recognize. "Lanturn!" He pokemon called out and smiled. Arekku smiled, "I guess so... " He muttered tiredly.
After a while of resting Arekku was able to make his way out to return Kenter. The Lanturn was still there and the two seemed to be playing. Arekku smiled and returned Kenter, "I suppose you're the one that found me?" The Lanturn nodded and Arekku gave a soft smile, "Thank you." He cautiously walked far enough into the water to touch the pokemon who gladly accepted the praise. "Well you seem nice enough." Lanturn swam around him then bumped his waist affectionately. "How'd you like to come along with me?" Lanturn smiled but it was an awkward smile as if he weren't sure. Arekku though for a little while, "Okay then maybe I don't have to catch you, maybe you can just follow along and be a friend then?"
He seemed to like that idea much, much better and cheered. Arekku let Kenter back out and looked cautiously out over the water. He bit his lip and climbed on Kenter, "Ge ready to follow Lanturn!" The pokemon cheered and got ready, "Kenter let's go home..." Kenter nodded and they took off. The Lanturn following behind.
