Maia was swaying back and fourth in Toby's usual chair. She looked to Dari and smiled. "I'm sure he'll be headed back soon." She couldn't imagine Toby would want to spend too much time entertaining a kelpie.

"He's downstairs checking on the others," Dari said, leaning back and over so Maia could see the security footage. He simply made his rounds, calming when he could, bringing food, and then in a short while he was back up with his crew. He smiled to Maia and touched the end of his muzzle to Maia's head as a kiss.
"How is everything?" Dari asked, even though he could see well himself if he turned back to the security cameras. Toby gave him a double thumbs-up. That was good. Maybe they could talk one of the men into taking the same training that Toby had? Anyway. "How did Kevin react?"
Awesome! Toby wrote, and then held it out doing a stereotypical surfer's hand wag and bending slightly at the knees. He straightened then and erased the word to replace it with. Mac & cheese w/ Kevin next week? He showed it to both Dari and Maia. Come to think of it, Ivy was probably vegan...

Maia smiled, looking to the board. "I told you he'd like that," she said. She nodded at the question. "Are you going to teach him how to make it homemade?" she asked. "I didn't think much of the powdered, preservative rich cheese." She wrinkled her nose. She was spoiled. She'd gotten Toby's cooking as soon as she'd been introduced to the human world.
"Did he try to convince you to scare other residents?"

Toby nodded. Homemade, definitely. He wasn't even sure if that orange stuff WAS cheese.
Wants to prank Lori w/ Michael.
Michael scared him.

"Is Michael in a bad mood?" Maia asked. He'd been dormant for days, within Toby. Maybe he needed some space. Poor Lori, though.
She reached up and brushed her fingers over the fur on Toby's chest. "Want to swim?"

Toby nodded. Sure. What Michael had done could insinuate a 'bad mood' of sorts, or else he just wanted to be left alone. A simple "I want to be left alone" might have sufficed but the specter never seemed to want to go that route.
He practiced his smile again and nodded as Maia brushed his fur. it felt nice, he wouldn't lie. Yes, he would like to swim!

Poor Michael. Maybe she'd see if he felt like going out next week. He'd really seemed to enjoy being outdoors.
Maia took Toby's paw!hand. "Lets go swim," she said.

When they reached the pool, Toby didn't take the time to grab a towel before diving into the water. He had a bit of a different skeletal structure now but he could manage it pretty well. He popped up and shook his head to clear the water and then held his arms open for Maia who, poor girl, had to wear clothes still.

Maia had planned for swimming tonight, and pulled her dress up over her head and put it on one of the chairs nearby; she'd worn her swimsuit underneath. She undid her shoes and set them aside before jumping into Toby's arms.

A-ha! Like magic! Toby pressed his muzzle into Maia's shoulder and held her, walking backward into the deeper end of the pool so she could float. His heart thumped in his chest. Ah, tomorrow, tomorrow...

Maia moved to kiss Toby's furry cheek, and let herself float in his arms. She smiled. It was hard to remember that she'd been frightened of this man the first time she'd met him. He was the best thing that had ever happened to her.

Toby had never been more nervous to go stargazing.
The lake technically closed at sunset, but it was easy enough to hop the chain that roped off the entrance. Even if any police did go by, there was a high chance that Toby would know them by name. At the beach, though, they were well out of view of the road and all alone. He spread out a blanket and lay there with Maia, watching the occasional meteor streak down from the sky. The telescope was packed up in its bag nearby.

Maia was watching the meteors pass, thrilled. She'd completely forgotten about the meteor shower once Toby had come home in such bad shape. She scooted closer to him and smiled. "This is beautiful."
They probably wouldn't have been able to see these at home, with all the light. But here, it was perfect.

Toby smiled and kissed Maia softly. He didn't have any words for her. it was beautiful, yes, but no more beautiful than her. He touched her cheek, kissed her again and asked, "Do you want to try the telescope?"

Maia returned the first kiss, smiled at Toby, and returned the second. She looked over to where the telescope was. "Okay," She agreed. She kissed his cheek, smiling happily.
She was so happy to have him back and healthy.
