[ Maggie : Disney Castle: Castle Entrance ]
"Kyla, why can't you just work together with them?" she blurted out, flabbergasted. She'd tried being the wise sifu, but it just wasn't her style, and it apparently wasn't getting through to one of the closest friends she'd made.
"Why can't you all face Kai? Why can't you all face the darkness?" she said stomping after the girl, her boisterous personality getting more and more worked up. "Burning bridges, trusting no one, working alone. Do you really think that's how you can help them?"
"You can't stop them alone, Kyla," she said, perhaps a bit too forceful. "You're not a one woman army. If you keep this up, others will get hurt, even if you 'pull the plug'--especially if you do! Why can't you see that some of us need you?"

[Kyla: Disney Castle: Hallways]
That final line stopped the girl in her tracks and she turned to look back at Maggie a moment. Something about how she worded it, made the entirely of all the events leading up click into a different order.
"..you guys need me?" She asked that like she must surely be reffering to someone else.
Just when she felt that retort- ‘but I HAVE been trying to work together but clearly I suck at it’- bubbled up something else popped into its place. She could feel Tyue nagging at her, pushing the thought forward despite her resistance. Sometimes that other mind inside her really picked the opportune times to go for the jugular.
~ have you really Kyla?~ the creature asked.
~or is it possible you’re only worked close enough so you could separate? Thing is Kyla you’ve become too close, you can’t be discarded this time. And they wouldn’t discard you, this isn’t earth. They do need you! There is no replacement.~
Could it be that all this time she’d only been working in ‘collaboration’- but not in full tandem? The summon equips, the special abilities, her actions- all the time she kept it in the back of her mind that all of this had to end someday. Did she assume she would not make it to the end? Was she always preparing to be discarded?
Kyla pushed the nagging summons thoughts away. “But if I tell them they’ll just force me to purge it, or force me to stay behind. I should be left behind, but I can't stay here. I have to go after Kai. Kai is small potatoes but .. but right now… she..”
“- she has my sister alright! Right now she’s using her to hurt countless innocent people and Kai made sure I knew that. And she’s not going to stop until I come after her- alone. There’s no way she’ll let us all come after she- she’s not that foolish to take us all on. If I’m ever going to save her, I can only do it by myself. Kai will never- ever- let us get close to her any other way. May be I am being tunnel visioned in this way… but I can’t just leave her like that!” Realziing she was talking a little louder she looked around to make sure no one else was there.
She let that drop between them for a moment. Kyla’s gaze dropped to her feet, she settled to a whisper. "..earth is gone Maggie. I get that. I was the first to feel relief. Relief- you get that? who feels relief when the world is destroyed? No one good that's who. But when I realized Kai had my sister, that relief shriveled up."
"-and before you say- it's a creature or something the replicas created- no, trust me, I know it's my real sister she has. I know because I made her."
“Kai was right. Eventually I'll turn everyone against me because I'm not good working with other people. I’m the one who put my sister in that situation Maggie. The truth is I’m not good enough to work with the rest of you. May be Noelle is right, I am some hero wannabe- but not because I’m looking for glory. I’m just a bad person- trying really, really hard to pretend that I’m like all of you. At this point, there's just one line seperating Kai and me, and it's getting finer and finer.. I was just afraid to admit it.”
She raised a hand to place itself over her heart as she felt it get tight to the point it seemed ot hurt physically. "I need to know my light is stronger despite all of that." So there she had it. Maggie knew everything now, and Kyla really didn't expect much would come from this. If anything she'd probably run off and tell the others. She feared it actually. Maggie was indeed more boisterious. If she had no insentive to talk, she had one now. Part of Kyla just wanted to run, and that part got bigger and bigger by the second. this was a disaster!
She couldn't imagine how it would feel had the conerstone not been there. Kyla figured she would have probably have run off right now. Who knows. Turning away, the artist was tense-ready to leave and expecting Maggie to explode. She could hear a tiny voice in her head saying over and over - 'Please don't be mad. I'm sorry I'm a bad girl again. Don't be mad. Don't look at me.'

{ Zell, Yuffie .:. Disney Castle Town .:. Fairgrounds} Zell rolled his eyes as Joe gave him a lesson in alcohol drinking. He'd heard it all before, and after all, this wasn't his first time at a bar. Yuffie, however… If he'd known how much of a lightweight she was, he'd have kept a stricter eye on her. He opened his mouth to say something, but the ninja tried to stand up and failed drastically, stumbling into him again just as Joe held out the horn. "Heeeeeeyyyyy, izzat for me?" she slurred, noticing Joe for the first time. "No," Zell said reflexively, grabbing Yuffie by the shoulders and forcing her to sit down on the nearest bench. "Just sit there like a good girl for a bit, mommy and daddy are talking." He looked at Joe with an absolutely pathetic expression. "What do you mean 'still drinking?' I haven't had a drop since I started baby-sitting! I hope that's something strong in there."{Bobbi .:. Disney Castle .:. Chocobo Stables} Bobbi sneezed loudly out of absolutely nowhere. Just one, single sneeze. She waited what felt like an eternity for the second to come, but it never did. She sniffed and rubbed her nose, scowling at the leftover itching. "Dammit, if someone's talking about me, it had better be something nice," she grumbled to herself, pushing again at Xabier's head in yet another attempt to get him out of her lap. When he once again failed to move, Bobbi sighed and leaned back against the wall again, burying her fingers in the feathers near the back of his head and scratching. Xabi's sleepy, happy wark almost made up for him being a stubborn lap-sleeper. Almost. She needed to pee, and she still couldn't feel her legs.

[ Maggie : Disney Castle: Castle Entrance ]
Maggie stopped when Kyla stopped, and waited for her to respond, knowing her words were churning in the artist's mind and heart. Hopefully Tyue was helping things along, too. When she finally started to speak, Maggie already had a response ready, about purging it, about Kai... and then, she mentioned her sister.
Maggie didn't recoil, nor did she look shocked or upset, but she did apprehensive--if only because suddenly, she understood just how thin the ice was. Both for herself, and for Kyla. But the monk wasn't going to back down.
"Kyla, you're looking at light all wrong!" she said, stepping forward. "We're all just candles in the night. Alone... we're nothing, and Kai knows that, they all know that--I bet even Ajora did. It's only together, physically or emotionally, that we find the strength to turn night to day, to push the shadows back."
"That's what light is. It's unity! It's friendship, it's our bonds, it's why Sora is always so strong, why it took multiple people manipulating him to finally take him down," she brought her hand over the center of her chest. "The three fairies explained it like this. We're all a different color, right? You might be a bright teal, I might be a deep red, Riku is a dreamy midnight blue--but the strongest, brightest, whitest light? It only happens when you bring them all together as one."
"I don't care about what happened in the past, Kyla, I care about you now! You made a mistake. It was a big one, but we've all made our fair share. What counts is you're trying to fix it--that's how I know you're a good person," she said, taking another step toward her, spreading her hands. "But don't purposefully make more mistakes just to play her game! Don't you see? You two, or three, aren't the only ones playing. There's something out there, and if I were some big bad that wanted 'Earth's final living shards' or whatever to die, then this thing you've got... it's the perfect opening."
"Work together with us. Maybe she won't stop until you come at her alone, but she can't run forever, can she? Eventually she'll get tired, or cornered. Kai's not perfect," she emphasized. "And heck, maybe we could pull one of those stunts, where she thinks you're alone and suddenly pchaooooow she's surrounded, or... I dunno! I just know--here!--" She brought her hand back to her chest. "--that if you go through with this... I may not see you again."
"There's always a choice, Kyla. Always, no matter what those doppelgangers want us to believe," she looked into the artist's eyes, searching. "I'll stand by you through anything. But if you want a stronger light... then you can't choose to be alone. You need friends, just like we need you."

[Kyla: Disney Castle: Hallways]
Even while that mask Maggie was now familiar with shifted into place over her reaction, Kyla stared at Maggie, listening very closely. If there was one thing someone could count on, then it was how Kyla at least let people have their say at her until the very end. Usually. When Maggie was done the artist said nothing but it was clear her mind was going a mile a minute.
That self-loathing she felt just slipped deeper and deeper into the pit of her stomach. The realization of what Maggie meant, and how wrong she’d been getting it all this time. There was a sense of uselessness in it. All by herself, Kyla couldn’t accomplish anything, like always. It was a bitter pill to swallow. She had a choice? Seemed like that wasn’t true at all.
Why was it that Maggie’s heart was telling her this was the right thing, and Kyla’s was telling her something different? Whose heart was more correct? If she trusted Maggie, then it would mean nothing Kyla felt was valid or correct. She couldn’t trust herself... ever again. She had no smarts or instinct about anything.
She was useless.
No! No I can do it! I can save my sister and no one else has to be caught up in this! I’m not weak! I’m not helpless! She didn’t want to give up in that way just yet. She didn’t want to admit she was utterly hopeless by herself. Because when all was said and done. When this journey as over. What could she ever hope to see at the end- after everyone goes their separate ways? Kyla didn’t want to admit to anyone that if that was the future, she didn’t want to be around to see it.
~ Kyla you don’t have to prove to anyone any more, why you deserve to exist. I’m sure what happened to your sister wasn’t all your fault. In the end I promise you Kyla, you won’t be all alone. So stop preparing yourself to return to that cage. You’re not going back there- not ever again!~ Carbuncle – once again, went for that jugular shot again. Damn that summon knew exactly what to say. "Would you just bud out for once Carbuncle?!" Kyla snapped obviously adressing the unseen participant in the moment. Clearly the summon was on Maggie side.
~ If you cannot trust your heart Kyla, then trust me. We used to be one. And if I agree with Maggie, then that means somewhere you feel the same way too about all of this! Don’t feel guilty about not understanding something you never got to experience before. Observation will only do so much. You have to experience friendship, before you can understand how it works.~
“I..”
“I need t-to...go to the.. library..” “..think about stuff.. …Thanks Maggie.” The mumbling was bearly audible. Kyla could not look at her anymore her eyes were glued to the floor as she turned away again and started walking. But before she was too far, something materialized next ot Maggie. The summon looked up at her, putting a tiny paw on her foot and smiling in that weird way with her eyes. “Thank you Maggie, she needed to hear that. Don’t worry. She’ll come around, leave it to me!” And with a tiny salute with her paw, the summon bounded off after her partner as she disappeared down the hallway on route to the library.

[ Maggie : Disney Castle: Castle Entrance ]
Maggie watched, silently hoping and praying to whatever powers were out there that her words would sink in, even if just a little. Would Kyla trust her? Wouldn't she?
When she turned away, mumbling, and began to walk off, Maggie lost her breath. Rather, she felt like it had been ripped away from her, and Kyla was taking it with her. So as Carbuncle showed up, she looked down at the little creature and tried to smile. Tried.
"I really hope so, buddy," she muttered, watching the eidolon bound away after its master. "I really do."

[ Joe : Disney : Fairgrounds ] "Unless water get's you drunk, no." He said, handing the horn off to the drunk ninja "Here, drink this to keep hydrated."
He caught Zells eye roll and sighed. OK, yes he was a**l. Incredibly so. But he'd seen alcohol poisoning do terrible things to other people before, he had no interest in letting it happen on his watch if he could help it. He'd rather be considered a**l then careless any day of the week. Still, Zell had earned a break by this point. And since Noelle was looking for opponents...
"How about you go against Noelle for a while at beer pong and I take over mercy angel duty? At this point, you've earned a break."

[Kyla: Disney Castle: Hallways enroute to Library]
"Want to talk about it?"
"No."
~ Want to think about it.~
' Not with you.'
~ Are you sure?~
'-in a minute ok? let me have some time to think for MYSELF! ..Alright?! I'm sick of everyone forcing me to do one thing or another-what I can't even think differently it seems in this forsaken world mixer without someone sharing my headspace all the time?!'
She strode down the hall, faster and faster, feeling Maggie's eyes still long after she must have been out fo sight. Kyla vaugely remembered the way the broom showed her before. Greatful for her photographic memory the girl felt she was on the right track. Maggie words hounded her, buzzed in her head. there wa sno way she'd get any sleep at this rate! Might as well put her restless self to good use then.

"You're fine," Kairi responded with a small smile, seemingly unfazed by her teasing intent. She even motioned to the spot next to her being open to sit on.
"Yeah, not much goin on, just relaxing," Sora added, remaining in his position lying flat. "No idea when we'll get called out again, after all. Hopefully not until tomorrow."

Sayrike: Disney: Beer Pong tent XD Neither Joe nor Zell ( Yes, that was his name!) responded to Sayrike's intrusion (and Yuffie seemed pretty out of it), so she assumed it was all right to sit down. She was naturally a fast eater, and today had been pretty taxing, so the food on her plate was gone fairly quickly. Hearing Noelle's invitation, Sayrike figured she might as well give it a go. Standing up, she volunteered around her last mouthful of food, "Hey, count me in! I think you've given these folks a poor example of what beer pong is supposed to look like." She quickly set up the drinking horn-vessel-thingies, though on her side she filled half of them with cider. "Sorry, beer is a bit too disgusting for me, so I hope you don't mind I use something else instead. Besides, it's all about the game!" the blue mage grinned. Nothing like a little friendly competition to make the evening interesting. "Anyone want to join me on the winning team?""Oh, and do you want to make things more...interesting? Add a wager or a punishment game of sorts?"

[ Dunbroch : Disney : Pub Tent ]
Most everyone near the playing table went silent as death the moment Sayrike called the beer "disgusting". It might not have been noticeable at first as she went on, but by the time she finished talking, it would have been obvious: every patron had their shocked, almost frightened eyes on her.
"What," said a deep, Scottish accent from behind a group of people--all of whom immediately leapt out of the way to reveal a hulk of a man, his beard and hair red as fire, his eyes cold as ice. He walked forward, towering over the young woman as he approached her side of the table. "did you say about my beer?"
The pub tent seemed frozen in horror, as if watching a train wreck, while they awaited the woman's response to the primary brewer of the event.

Dawn smiled softly at Kairi as she sat down with the younger girl. She followed Sora's example and laid down on the ground as well.
"I have to agree with that," she responded, "Everyone has been run thin. After with what has happened with James, Kyle and everyone else. I dread to think of what lies ahead."

Sayrike: Disney: Pub Tent Well, s**t.How could this guy have heard her over the din? Although her first instinct was to babble out an apology, it didn't seem like it would help in this situation. With the large man towering over Sayrike's 5'3", it must have looked comical from an outside perspective. Keeping a calm face, Sayrike replied, "I said nothing about your beer, sir. I'm sure it's quite excellent--the food certainly was. You'll have to forgive me, though, my tongue can't quite handle beer in general--or most alcohol for that matter. Aren't there certain foods and drink that you don't eat?
"I make no slight against your personal brew, seeing as I haven't had it. However, I would be willing to try it...if you beat me in a game of beer pong."

[ Dunbroch : Disney : Pub Tent ]
As the girl started to give her explanation, the Dunbroch brewmaster began to nod slowly. He had misheard; not hard to believe on a loud night like this. His sour frown had softened, even, to an understanding--if pitying--expression, and he would have left it as it was.
But then she challenged him.
The crowd began to hoot, shouting their general amusement at the gall to be challenged by the mage. He might not have played this drinking game before, but he was a Dunbroch. There was no choice. He smirked.
"Aye, I accept--on one condition," he said, taking the center drinking horn and draining it into his own mouth in a single swig. One of the other patrons, immediately seeing what was intended, came over with a full pint of the brewmaster's strongest ale, and when he held out the drinking horn--never taking his eyes off Sayrike--let the man fill the horn up to the brim.
"Place it on yer side where ya like," he said before looking to Noelle, Anthony, and whoever else had intended to be around the table as he placed the drink back down. The crowd was too busy going wild and cheering over the game about to commence. "Now, 'ill this be a one on one? Or will someone have the honor of being on my team?"

[Kyla: Disney Castle:Library]
Tyue could see she was not getting anywhere with Kyla right that moment, the girl was distracting herself, burying herself in books. Once she got to the library Kyla began to systematically search for various topics, usually pertaining to magic.
The first thing she did was go and find the index to the contents registry, or ledger system that categorized the different books. She had to ask the brooms again for it. Once she did that Kyla put her power to creative use again and copied all the records of listed books under magic or references too magic. It was a codex of anagrams whose letter meant a type, volume and category, and based on that it fit into whatever shelves area they’d be in the library.
Once she copied the listings, Kyla took to the shelves and began looking. She decided to save herself the trouble of reading everything one by one herself, and created pictogram spell that acted much like a program searcher. Signifying the topics covered, selecting more than even one book she took off the shelf and began to let he own magic skim until it came to a stop on a specified match.
Of course once it found anything she had to check the context herself of course, but the result of all this prepare was a gilr seated perhaps ten or more volumes, some as thin as novels others as thick as your head. They were piled up around her where she sat on the floor in the farthest corner of the library. Kyla sat herself there surrounded by maybe 3 to 4 books hovering in the air, their pages turning at rapid speed as the spell in use in her book, which lay at her side spine open, continued to look through the books she took down. She herself would pluck whichever one paused first and would read the content before deciding if she’d bookmark it, or let it skip ahead and continue searching for another match.
“So this is how google feels hm?”
~ Looking for books on magical barrier huh?~
‘…yes.’
~ You know it won’t matter right? Even if you did find something, you can’t possibly keep a barrier up around herself constantly? And in the grand scale of things between your magical reservoir against the enemies- you’re just not strong enough.~
‘Yet. I’m not strong enough yet.’
~ And just how do you think you’ll become strong?~
‘By practicing of coarse.’
~ -that’s not the only way you can get stronger. You should practice with the others too.~
Kyla didn’t answer and kept reading. Carbuncle decided she’d try again in a little while. Little by little despite Kyla’s outward exterior, a crack had been made in her resolve to go this mission solo, and the crumbling began. Perhaps if she had just one more friendly person to talk to? But Carbuncle couldn’t just go around and ask anyone. If she was lucky may be someone would find the workaholic and send her to bed.
