I so knew he was blind xp He's so old and with cat food as his main staple, it's no wonder. We switched them to Marshall Premium (7lbs for $23) and it seems to have quickly raised their spirits. I also filled out a coupon for free Evo ferret food after reading Amazon reviews on the brand. The coupon is good for a 5 pound bag.
He only has brief seizures from what I've seen, and he's shown several of the symptoms of insulinoma: depression, underweight, lack of appetite, lethargy, salivation (Kat said he drooled during one of his fits), and difficulty in using hind legs (which is scary s**t; he'll just suddenly not be able to walk with them.) A vet visit next month should establish what the issue is.
Yeah, Rex and Anita will poke their little noses out between the bars or pace when we're in the room, and Anita will make grabby hands like "let us out, we are so cute." And then they go bouncing and dooking around like the little bastards they are.
I think we're done with the fleas - I haven't seen any and they're not itching as much, and like you said Lor, they are naturally itchy. And it's less urgent now.

We've also made a list of new cage accessories to replace the ones they have now. On my list are a pirate ship, alligator, and octopus.
Air conditioner is basically dead, it seems. gonk

*flail face punch mosh pit*
Man today is so nice out, the water and sky are so blue. I found a log in the water and I took it out and flipped it over and there was moss and grass things on it and these little white pale thingies started wriggling out of it all angrily and they were BABY CRAYFISH so soft and tiny, like pill bug size and I put it back.
And I went on a bike ride and got coffee (I can almost drink it black now) and a delicious chocolate chip oat cookie and yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. and I have work have to go home and change clothes but it was a good day and I have my study materials with me so I can study on the bus. ^_^
Love you guys but I gotta go now and will probably be on early tomorrow if it's not incredibly nice out again or something. :333

I'm glad you had nice times outside, Cass. The weather here has still been a little too hot to really enjoy it. Kansas has weird heat it's either humid as ******** or just dry and bleh.
I'm thinking about making Hagrid's Rock Cakes for Halloween this year. They call for raisins, but I wanna try to do 'em with white and regular chocolate chips, but I thought that that might be a fun thing to do for the kids.
I got the call back from Goodwill finally, so I get to go in the morning and finish filling out paperwork so I can start working hopefully this week. She wanted me to come in at 8am to do it, but Naz doesn't get off until 10:45 tonight and she said it was fine if I came in around 12:30 to do it instead, so that's cool.
I'm eager to work and be bringing in the money so I can get the ferts, the dog and Spanky all the awesome stuff they deserve, as well as a camera and Naz's kitchen table. I just don't want to start the job off like I usually do where I'm licking their butt from the beginning to make sure I please them and take shitty shifts even though I don't want to. I think if I go in it more relaxed and still work really hard I'll do better and I won't work myself up into any sort of anxiety attacks about it like I did before.
I want to break out of the habit of, "I have this much time to do this, but only this much time to do that, and I'll have to do this thing tomorrow." No. Life does not revolve around work. Work fits into life and helps me make it better. Period.
My ferts smell, though. I know it's cuz of the bathing and change of diet and what not, but man they sure can smell up a room. I clean them really thoroughly everyday, but I think tomorrow after I get the paperwork done I'm going to take the cage all apart again and give it a good scrub for good measure.
I'm also really not sure what to do with Dumbledore, it's like every time he starts to do better the next day he gets worse and he's not even trying to use the litter boxes and he drags through the mess so I keep having to clean him up and the cage up all over again. I don't mind the extra work, but I'm getting tired of seeing him like this. It just makes me sick. The other two are so happy and love playing and Rex even gave me kisses today when I was playing with him and Anita gets all up in my hair or flops out in my arms to get her belly scratched, but then there's Dumbledore just laying there and..
I'm thinking I might take him to the Humane Society tomorrow. I feel like such an a*****e for doing it, but I just don't think it's right to keep dragging him around when he's blind, unable to use his back legs and constantly not feeling well/possibly in pain and falling around all over the place. I don't believe in giving up on things, but I also don't believe in keeping something alive if its existence is full of suck.
I dunno. It just hurts to look at him when I know if it had been treated properly even a year ago he'd be perfectly okay right now. It makes me so mad.
Rambling~

I gotta agree with you there, Kitty. That's how my doggy got in his last few months... like he stopped being able to walk, and was just messing everywhere and you know, just generally couldn't do things without help. Just lying there, looking miserable. Plus since Dumbles is so old, even if it is a sickness or something that can be cured he probably wouldn't recover from it anyways. n_n Good luck, you guys. Really sucks how they came to you in such a rotten condition.

Well, Anita and Rex have bounced back tenfold - just switching their food over and getting rid of their fleas has left them soft, dooking socks of adorable. They love to play, don't bite, and other than over-itchyness due to their two baths, they seem to be doing waaaay better.
But Dumbles.. I've owned a lot of small animals (rabbits, mostly) and he has that look. That expression of misery and suffering. He loses use of his backlegs at random, messes all over himself, struggles to lift his head, has mini-seizures, has trouble eating.. and he's blind, and his last owner let him starve down to brittle bones. If he was just old, or just blind, or just undernourished, I'd say he had a good chance at having an okay existence, but he's just.. a total mess, and he's in pain. I known they'll put him to sleep and as ******** up as I feel about it, he's so goddamn hurting I just.. sometimes he sticks his head in the corner and shudders, like his head hurts. It kills me. Even after we got him to a decent weight, I have a sneaking suspicion he has insulinoma because he exibits so many of the classic symptoms; so even after fattening him up, he'd have to undergo surgery and rigorous medication for that, and I just don't think he'd survive. Hell, I don't think he'll survive Christmas. And it just seems.. unfair to have him lingering on because we're not adult enough to admit there's not s**t we can do and he'll be better off out of pain.

Just think about it like this- at least he's had good food and love in his last days, instead of dying hungry and miserable in the corner of a filthy cage covered in his own excrement.
You guys should be proud of yourselves, give him all the love you can and show him that life isn't all s**t and then take him to the vet so he can stop hurting. You guys, you know you've probably done more for Dumbledore and made him feel loved and happy than he ever has in his entire life. You hold him gently and wash him when he makes messes, pet and talk to him and help him eat and comfort him after he's had seizures or when he feels hurting.
He couldn't have hoped for a gentle hand to lead him off before you guys bought him. I bet he loves you already. <3 I love you guys too, man, so so so so much.

And sorry I haven't been on. I really wanted to but then I ended up just... sleeping until noon. ( xD And I felt physically like crap for sleeping for so long) and played video games. Bleh.
didn'tevengetmyhomeworkforspanishdone. But somehow I don't care?
If I'm rebelling I've picked a sorry time to do it. I haven't got anyone around to constantly stare at me disapprovingly and help motivate me to do better.
I think it's more like I'm challenging the universe. If I don't do my s**t and something happens that gives me more time to do it or it ends up not mattering that I didn't do it- universe is on my side somehow with things and that'd let me know things'll be alright even if I do fail horribly, and I'll be able to do things again.
And if it all fails and nothing comes from doing nothing- well then I'll know it's myself I have to depend on and can take comfort in myself to get things done.
Either way, win-win kind of. Dunno.
Also I'm thinking of shaving my head for November 19th. It's not disallowed at my work and I have a big black costume robe with a hood and I could dress as voldemort, lol. I've seriously wanted to shave my head since I was 12 years old.

Sorry about your carrrrrrrrrrrrrr holy crap that sucks and is definitely something you guys did NOT need right now. Though I don't really need to tell you this, obviously.
Yeah I srsly need to stop talking about wanting to go to the therapist and actually make an appointment.
Also I was working frozen yesterday at walmart and I was putting away 'Green Giant Fresh Steamers' and I laughed because I thought of cow pies in the winter, lol.
IT IS COLD IN FROZEN.
WHO IS STEALING YOUR CARTS, NAZ? Glaaaaad you get to see your brother though. :3 Wait, you have a brother?
D: Everyone has brothers, you lucky ducks. WHATCHA GONNA DO WITH HIM, NAZ? :3 Throw anita and rex on him and let them nest in his hair and then run around screaming with happiness! That is my suggestion. ^_^
-----
and the pizzas were 9inch pizzas, 12oz each, so 60oz of pizza for $10 compared to their 2 for $10 deal on the regular size, which are 23.6 oz, so about 47oz of pizza compared to 60oz for the same price, but you can get 3 12inch tombstones from walmart for $9 and that's like 72oz of pizza for $9 and therefore is 12oz weight and $1 less than trig's 'deal' so I didn't get any pizza, lulz. :3
ITS LIKE getting 6 9inch pizzas for $9! Compared to 5 for 10. razz
