Nihilistic_Impact The main problem is that it defeats the original purpose of the morning star and hatchet. Look at each weapon individuall, they are at the root a mass on the end of a stick. Because their mass is located farther away from what is the lever, where you hold it, there is more momentum and kinetic energy for the blow. Now add a counter weight just bellow where you hold it, now the cernter of gravity his shifted and you don't have as much kinetic force as you did originally.
It could work. domokun AND COME NOW! Diamond swords are KEWL! And gold swords? Pshhh, who doesn't have one of those? Strongest metal ever, you know. That's why they're making cars out of them in full now.

Nihilistic_Impact I'd rather have an intelligent conversation about different types of weapons and armours that could be used. How about a trident, as opposed to a "normal" polearm.

Your gold sword hits a say...titanium or even steel sword. It's toast.
