Sir Kyle Aziz
The F-117 can fly because it's streamline. Anything streamline can fly.
No. Anything streamlined is more -likely- to fly, because it poses less air resistance. Anything that is designed into an aerofoil, however rudimentary, can fly. So long as the curvature of the wing is such that the air passing over the wing is at lower pressure than the air passing under the wing, it will generate lift and, thus, fly.
Valkyries would realistically have airfoil wings with the ability to go to VTOL, but would primarily fly like a Harrier, which means it would spend most of its time actually flying.
The positioning of the wings, however, does absolutely nothing to add lift to the point where the majority of the weight is on the craft, which is right at the passenger bay.

This thing... The centre of gravity on it compared to where the main thrust engines are, you would have either trim the elevators or constantly pull back on the stick so that you wouldn't nose dive straight into the ground.
If prehaps the wings and engines were in the middle it would be okay but because the whole turbine is behind the center of gravity... An the vertical thrusters are behind it too, I would hate to see how they would expect the thing to land...
Putting the wings nearer the front would be better. The main issue is the fact that the payload could be expected to shift a lot at any given time pending Dreadnought load or passenger load. The two points of note on an aircraft are the center of gravity and the center of pressure. When built properly, those should be at the same point. To have a stable, ballistic flight, the center of gravity should be in front of the center of pressure. For an "overstable" flight which would cut range and likely end up in a tumble, the center of gravity would have to be brought behind the center of pressure.
On this craft, it's reasonable to assume that they're relying heavily on anti-grav tech, which is really the only way it and the Thunderhawk would stay up in atmosphere when not moving at really high speed.

Would have prefered to see something of a mix between the SC2 Banshee and Valkyrie and prehaps the LAAT/i from Starwars.
Yeah. Turns out that engineering isn't one of GW's strong suits. Who new?
