Yeah, not quite American Government.]  The reason for them is to ensure that those who cannot hike across the parking lot don't have to. I think they should exist because after my diagnosis comes in I'm getting my tag that allows me to park there....If I have to go in from the middle of the parking lot on a bad I usually end up needing a motorized cart which I hate, they are so embarrassing.
