he held Nate carefully "please don't freak out... I'll be fine I promise..." he sighed softly and closed his eyes, rubbing Nates back "love... I have a brain tumer... and it's been growing..."

He sat up a little and looked at Maki. "What?" He was doing his best not to freak out. His eyes were brimming with tears.

he cupped Nate's face a little and whipped the tears before they could fall "there waiting for it to stop before I get it removed" he stroked Nate's cheek softly "they would have sooner but it was to small, I'm sorry that I never told you"

"You knew about this before. Why... why didn't you tell me?" a few tears slipped out and over Makis hands. He put his hands against Makis.

"I didn't tell any one..." he said softly "I didn't want to scare any one because it was benign... it couldn't hurt me and it wasn't... but it started growing... This surgery could make me mentally retarded... If that happens I don't ever want you to leave me..." he was starting to cry now as he held Nate's face "and I want to relearn everything... the kids... how to take care of them... everything"

He kissed Maki softly, "I won't leave you. i want to be with you forever no matter what." He wiped Makis tears away. "Your mine to keep."

He sat up next to Maki and pulled him close. It hurt him so much to see him this way. He stroked Makis hair not knowing what he could do to help.
